00:00All right, the FBI is currently investigating this hunting stand, you see it here, that
00:05was found with a direct line of sight of Air Force One.
00:09This was last week in Florida.
00:10Federal authorities say they made the discovery Friday while the Secret Service was conducting
00:14their physical sweeps.
00:16This was near Palm Beach International Airport, ahead of President Trump's arrival.
00:21The president was in Palm Beach, Florida, last weekend, spending some time at Mar-a-Lago.
00:24For about 24 hours after the stand was spotted, investigators closed all lanes of Southern
00:29Boulevard, parallels the southern border of the airport.
00:33And it comes about a month after Ryan Ruth was convicted of trying to assassinate Trump
00:37in September 2024 at the president's golf course in West Palm Beach.
00:43Jack Jupin joins us now, retired FBI supervisory special agent, retired supervisor of the Joint
00:47Terrorism Task Force and SWAT team.
00:49Barry Donatio is here as well, former Secret Service agents and national security analyst.
00:54Gentlemen, welcome and thanks for coming on.
00:56Jack, if we just wanted to start with your general observations about this discovery here,
01:01what stands out to you?
01:02Yeah, I mean, it's a routine security sweep, which we obviously work very well with Secret
01:07Service.
01:08They do it routinely before the president would arrive at his residence or another location.
01:14The hunting stand is unusual in the sense of where it's located.
01:17It's not exactly a hunting area, to be honest with you, that that stands out to me as being
01:24unusually placed.
01:26That being said, I believe there's at this point in time that the stand has been obviously
01:31dismantled, sent to FBI laboratory in Quantico, and it's being analyzed for DNA evidence.
01:39And also, my understanding is they're doing some work with the telephone cell tower site
01:45records to see what cell phones may or may not have been in the area at the time of placement.
01:52Right.
01:52And Barry, to bring you into this as well, the ABC affiliate in that area in Palm Beach did
01:58a little digging into where that site is located specifically, down to the exact location.
02:03And they discovered it, that this area was not a designated hunting area, and firing a
02:11gun there would be illegal under local and state law.
02:15What does that tell you?
02:17I mean, where does your mind go with that information, Barry?
02:19Yeah, thanks for having me on.
02:21Great to be with Jack.
02:22And I agree with everything he said.
02:24There are two places being reported where this stand was.
02:27One place is literally on the other side of the highway from the airport, which is about
02:32a four-acre plot of woods right next to an Army Reserve installation and right next to
02:38a county sheriff's forensic building.
02:42So I don't know if that's where it is.
02:45And if it is, it makes me less suspicious.
02:47I wonder if it's something for training or maybe they do some kind of observation skills
02:52from that tree line.
02:53If it is in the median in a part of woods just on the other side of the highway, that brings
03:00it closer to the airport.
03:01And that raises a suspicion a lot.
03:03Now, the president's son made a Twitter post that that is where it is.
03:08And if it is in the median, yeah, that's rather bizarre.
03:12And I'll tell you, it's Secret Service counter-sniper that picked this up.
03:16I have tried looking for it on Google Maps.
03:18I can't find it.
03:20So that would have been a keen eye that would have found that.
03:23And kudos to the U.S. Secret Service counter-sniper team.
03:26Yeah, definitely.
03:27I mean, better safe than sorry in all of these instances.
03:31And that is perhaps why we saw the president actually board these shorter steps to Air Force
03:36One.
03:36So, you know, you aren't as clear of a target, Jack.
03:40Does this make the Secret Service just reminded that there could be individuals out there who
03:47wish harm on President Trump?
03:49Yeah, I don't think the Secret Service needs to be reminded.
03:52They're very professional.
03:53I've worked with them many times at the White House when I was on a protection detail for
03:58the Attorney General of the United States.
04:00They know what they're doing.
04:02Obviously, there's already been two attempts on the president's life.
04:05So in a situation like this, I don't think they need any reminding.
04:08They're very professional.
04:10As my colleague just mentioned, the counter-sniper team, they're outstanding.
04:14And that took a great eye to pick that up.
04:16And they're doing an outstanding job.
04:18And it's a very difficult job.
04:20And I don't think a lot of people do appreciate the time and effort and the manpower, wind and
04:25power that go into protecting a principle like this, like the president of the United States.
04:30All right.
04:31Jack Juppin and Barry Donatio.
04:32Thank you both for your service and expertise on the matter.
04:35We appreciate it.
04:38Well, Microsoft now saying a number of.
