00:00for synagogues. Welcome to the program.
00:03Thank you for having me.
00:05So it's early days, obviously, but what is your understanding of what's happened here
00:10and what kind of security do you think this synagogue would have had in place?
00:15Yeah, so obviously they had some armed security, which at this day and age in 2026,
00:21it's just a requirement. You have to have it just because of the world that we live in.
00:26And since the October 7th attacks in Israel, all synagogues really need to be protected,
00:32as do airports and schools now. So we have a war with Iran going on right now.
00:39There has been a fatwa issued by what's called the Grand Ayatollah there,
00:44and this is because the United States took out the Ayatollah Khomeini.
00:47And this order, this legal order to Muslims, orders them to avenge the death of the Ayatollah.
00:55I suspect that's exactly what's happening here. And we're hearing of all sorts of attacks,
01:00U.S. Embassy attacked in Canada and some other shootings that seem to be tied with this.
01:07And your other guest mentioned a cyber attack as well. So I lump this all into that until it's
01:14proven otherwise. All synagogues need to be on a heightened state of alert. It's not a money pitch.
01:20It's just reality. And I know nobody wants to spend the money, but you need competent people
01:27that are providing security for your synagogue. It can't be somebody with a T-shirt that says
01:34security, and that's a false sense of security. You need somebody that is trained, licensed,
01:38insured, and knows what they're doing. And a background like myself, former Secret Service,
01:43or I have heard this security agent was former FBI. I'm not certain of that. But you have to have
01:50a high-caliber security agency protecting these synagogues at this juncture.
01:56I mean, is that 24-7? Is it physical infrastructure? Is it intelligence as well? I mean,
02:03it sounds like a major operation, seven days a week you're talking about here.
02:07Yeah. You're absolutely right. And just like any client, right? So nobody wants to pay. And that's
02:14the thing that I'm up against. But certainly, when your congregation is there in numbers,
02:20absolutely. Because a building could be replaced. If somebody attacks a building that's empty,
02:26okay, fine. Because you're right, security costs a lot of money. And it is a luxury, especially if you're
02:32using a company like mine, it's going to provide high-caliber people that can actually do something
02:37if an incident like this takes place. We even invite our clients to come to the shooting range
02:43and watch us shoot, see what we're able to do. You know, I don't think any other companies are doing
02:48that. So we like to show our tradecraft. But that is what it takes. That's the cost. I know nobody
02:54wants
02:54to pay for it. But listen, if you're going to have your congregation come to a church,
02:59and this one in Michigan supposedly has 12,000 members, they're going to just have to pay for
03:06the security. And it worked out this way. Thank goodness somebody got hurt. And it worked out
03:11in a positive scenario because they had competent armed security there that took it out and neutralized
03:20evil. And that's exactly what it is, evil that tried to kill people, innocent people.
03:27Thank you so much for joining us, Barry. Barry Donadio, former US Secret Service agent who
03:33runs that company that supplies security for synagogues. Some more information just coming
03:39into us to law enforcement.
