00:00Hello and welcome to this New South Wales James weather update for Friday.
00:04The big weather system is almost over. We still have a little bit of wet weather
00:08moving through on Friday into Saturday, but the heavy falls are now done.
00:12We've got tropical moisture coming in from the northwest. That's moving across the southeast
00:15today, but it's running out of oomph, so it doesn't deliver much. Let's zoom into
00:20New South Wales in through here because we do still have a lot of warnings that are there.
00:24Anything white is our flood watch, so that's our flood watch in through there. We've got
00:28major flooding in through here. The green ones are minor flooding, and that's all
00:32the way down into here as well. So having a look at the coast, this is what is left over
00:35that's coming in through here. It's not reaching the west anymore. In fact, we've got a fair bit of sunshine
00:39in through there. It's a coastal thing just into the ranges there, and there's no more
00:44heavy falls as we move through the rest of the day. It is an easing trend as well, so
00:47let's have a look day by day. Here we have Friday. All of the heavy falls are off the coast.
00:52This system is moving away. It's just into the ranges. That is it.
00:55So for Sydney here, 10 to 15 millimetres, most of that has already fallen.
00:59All right, so there we have on Friday into Saturday, we've got another low that is now
01:03off the coast, but it's off the coast. It's not right on that coastal fringe and also
01:07in through here like the last one. So that's why we had the heavy falls inland and on the
01:12coast. This one now offshore, so the heavy falls are also offshore.
01:16All right, so there we have during the day on Saturday.
01:19Into Sunday, high pressure is now sitting in through here. That is still offshore, so there's
01:23just a little bit of coastal activity, that's all. Heading into Monday, the high is now in
01:28through here. That should be a lovely day. There is something brewing over in the west.
01:31Let's go and have a look. We've got a moisture feeding in through here. We've got a big system
01:35coming in. Let's watch that move through as we go through Tuesday. This is a southwestern New
01:41South Wales one. Into Wednesday, there it is. You'll see it move, increase as it moves into
01:45the ranges, and then nothing on the other side of that. This is a western system, not an eastern
01:50system. There we have into Wednesday. Now we have into Thursday. It keeps wrapping around.
01:55It keeps coming through. And into Friday, there is still even more. So falls are going to be
02:00the lightest, the furthest west you go. But look how it increases as you head towards the
02:06slopes there and then up into the ranges with some big falls over the alpine areas. Not as
02:11snow on the Tuesday, but turning into snow on the Wednesday and lasting for the rest of
02:15the week. So some nice falls coming out of that one. I want to zoom in so we can have
02:19a nice little look as to how much rain is coming our way from Tuesday onwards.
02:25OK, let's have a look at what that means for Sydney. So very different picture to what's
02:28happening in the west. We do have the remains of this current weather system on the Friday.
02:32So we'll unpack that in a sec. So rain at times here, just possible showers on Saturday.
02:37Lots of sunshine all the way through. Let's have a look at our temperatures.
02:4016, 19, 17 as that system crosses the southeast. 19, 21, 22. And then we're going to feel some
02:47chilly winds at the end of that week because we've had the cold front move through. Sunshine
02:51but chilly winds. OK, let's unpack what's happening today. We do have rain at times.
02:56But look, it's a millimetre or less every hour. So the heavy falls are now done.
03:00As we go into Saturday, we've got generally it's quite sunny and there are possible showers
03:06around. So there's just a little bit of activity and it's not going to add up to very much.
03:10And then into Sunday, the sunshine returns and it's looking good.
03:14So let's unpack a little bit of this in through here. Wednesday, top of 22.
03:18Lovely. But watch that wind pick up later on in the afternoon.
03:22And watch our feels like temperature. So you can see it's this column in through here
03:25that's going to start to really go down because we've got those gusty westerly winds.
03:30So on Thursday, it's lovely. It's 19, but it feels like temperature is in the low team.
03:36So watch out for that later on next week. But there will be sunshine to get us through
