00:03It is the 1st of November and this is your weather update for the week ahead. Moving forward we're
00:07going to stick with some more secure regions I will say and the southeast region is if you're
00:12anywhere from Hobart to sort of Port Lincoln, Port Augusta area in South Australia and all the way
00:17up to southeastern Queensland so the sort of Brisbane Gympie region so all of that included
00:22is in southeast Australia moving forwards. Let's have a look at this week's weather. The southeast
00:27is quite active especially at the start of the week as we have a central low pressure system moving
00:31through driving some thunderstorms and heavier rainfall which we can see in the orange colours
00:37here which is 50 to 75 mils. Now most of the rainfall that will be experienced across the southeast
00:41this week is nowhere near as strong as it was the previous week neither are the thunderstorm risks
00:45however there are still some of those continuing risks associated. If we have a look here at the
00:50current warnings issued we can see in southern Queensland we still have minor and moderate
00:53flood warning issues. I believe that these will clear up as the week progresses as there's not
00:58as much rainfall in these regions. We also have some marine wind warnings if you're in the east coast of
01:03Tasmania as we have that front moving through. All right let's start having a look at the daily
01:09rainfall here so this is the low pressure system blob that's driving a lot of the severe weather at the
01:14start of the week it's currently today sitting over the Adelaide region. We also have another little
01:18low pressure blob here sitting in northern New South Wales again driving some stronger rain 5 to 25 mils
01:25there in northern New South Wales and southern Queensland. These have both been associated with
01:28the potential of severe thunderstorms so that's thunder lightning strong rain strong wind possible
01:33small hail is all associated with those systems there. All right Monday we have a low pressure system
01:38here again associated with thunderstorms we also have a front moving through and that's what's driving
01:42this strong rain here in the west of Victoria 15 to 25 mils is your maximum possible. We've dried out
01:48in
01:48southern Australia as we start to get a high pressure system moving through into the Bight. We also have
01:53a relatively dry northern New South Wales and southern Queensland with some coastal showers along the route
01:57here. Let's go into Tuesday. Moving on to Tuesday now so we can see a strengthening of some of that
02:03rainfall as that low pressure system and that front moves into the Tasman Sea. If you're in the coastal
02:08regions you could be seeing 15 to 25 mils a very unlikely isolated 25 to 50 mils is possible in
02:14some
02:15regions but I don't think that that's likely to eventuate. There could be a risk of thunderstorms
02:19with those there. We're now dried out in southern Australia and in western Victoria as that front
02:23has moved through as well as Tasmania. All right moving through into Wednesday you can start to see
02:27that high really establish itself in the Bight however because of the wind direction we have this
02:31onshore wind flow which is delivering 15 to 20 15 to 10 mils I should say in southern Victoria but
02:38we're relatively dry across the rest of the southeast. Similar story there for Thursday however it's
02:44shifted over a little bit but we're pretty much dry for most of the southeast except for the west coast
02:48of Tasmania which is receiving 5 to 10 mils. Friday we have the sort of next system moving through
02:57again we've got some onshore rainfall very small isolated bits of Gippsland could see 5 to 10 mils but
03:02again mostly dry across the southeast here but with that onshore flow a chance of a shower if you're
03:07anywhere in the southern coast of Victoria. All right Saturday that now moves over to the eastern
03:13part of Victoria again 5 to 15 mils possible there it will extend up the east coast here just to
03:21the
03:21north of Sydney. Around the Brisbane area we have a possible fire 10 to 15 mils there and just showers
03:27down in southern Australia. So as you can see this is really the first time that we've started to get
03:31some stronger rain in the Brisbane area and it's still been dry in this central region which is why I
03:35think that flood warning will likely reduce as this week continues. All right finally here into
03:41Sunday again some strong rain around the Sydney region a possible 15 to 25 mils but far more likely
03:47in the 2 to 10 range if you're along the east coast here all the way from sort of very
03:53far eastern
03:53Gippsland up into the Brisbane region all these central areas are dry again. All right that is it for the
04:02southeast as we can see accumulated 25 to 50 mils along most of those coastal regions as it's quite
04:08active thunderstorms are more likely at the start of the week than they are at the end of the week
04:12but there's rain coming at the end of the week there as well. All right do be safe have a
04:17great week and
04:18we'll see you next time. Bye!
04:20you
