00:16and reject the US military deployment in the Caribbean social movements around the world.
00:20The Libertadores Foundation Party of Honduras is meeting on Sunday to discuss the interference of the United States in the general elections of November 30.
00:33And China accused Japan of obstructing naval exercises during its training and denies accusations of dangerous radar guidance near Okinawa.
00:45Hello, welcome to From the South. I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Delezu Studios in Havana, Cuba. We begin with the news.
01:00Several countries around the world held a solidity day for peace in the Caribbean in response to the military threats imposed by Washington on Caribbean countries and Venezuela.
01:20Social movements and activists from several countries expressed their solidarity with Venezuela in the face of the siege from the US Empire.
01:32The organizations condemned the interventionist actions of the US government that threaten the Caribbean as a zone of peace.
01:39In this context, the Venezuelan government has constantly denounced the false arguments used by the Trump administration to justify the heavy deployment of military machinery in the Caribbean under the supposed fight against drug trafficking, which in reality is aimed at attacking and seizing Venezuela's natural resources.
01:59In Puerto Rico citizens also defended the sovereignty of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean with banners and slogans, they called for peace and the closure of US military bases in their country and the region.
02:22Cuba also joined the day of solidarity with Venezuela with an event at the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the peoples that brought together representatives from the Institute, the Cuban chapter of the anti-fascist international, the Venezuelan diplomatic mission in Cuba, and social organizations who expressed their support for the Venezuelan people in the face of external aggression and threats.
02:45With slogans such as Venezuela is not a threat, Venezuela is hope and rejection of the threat against Venezuela and all of Latin America and the Caribbean, Cuba's commitment to the defense of sovereignty and self-determination of peoples was ratified.
03:01Meanwhile social movements and indigenous peoples in Belize also rejected the United States military actions in the Caribbean and against Venezuela.
03:17This show of solidarity joins an anti-imperialist forum convened by various countries on a global day of action in support of the Venezuelan government and in rejection of the US threats described by social movements as a multidimensional war against the South American nation.
03:38Even in the United States, several cities took to streets in support of Venezuela, from Washington DC to major cities nationwide.
03:47Citizens demand peace, diplomacy, and an end to interventionist policies, as the US government seems to prepare to start another war in Latin America.
03:57This Saturday, the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, denounced threats from the United States against his country and the wider region.
04:07Beginning from Magdalena in northern Colombia, Petro addressed the audience in the Senegal during the commemoration of the 97th anniversary of the massacre of Las Bananas.
04:16The event gathered relatives of victims, social leaders, indigenous communities, and local authorities.
04:21In his remarks, Petro drew a historical parallel between Washington's warnings to the Colombian government nearly a century ago and current pressures.
04:28He stated that, just as in the past, today once again the White House threatens those who do not do what they want or order.
04:36The Liberty and Re-Foundation Party of Honduras is meeting on Sunday to discuss the interference of the United States in the general elections of November 30th.
04:49Former President Manuel Zelaya called the meeting with the aim of exposing the interference and hostility of US President Donald Trump.
04:56In this regard, he pointed out that the statements made by the head of state 72 hours before the election asking the electorate not to vote and threaten to cut economic aid affected the democratic process.
05:12Also in Honduras, the Liberty and Re-Foundation Party formally requested the annulment of the presidential elections after confirming the electoral fraud perpetrated by the Honduran bipartisanship with the support of US interference.
05:25In a statement, the Libre Party calls for, first, to receive the present action for administrative notification of the counts carried out by the voting boards for the election of the president, presidential appointees, and deputies to the Central American Parliament, together with the accompanying documents and evidence.
05:42The text continues, second, that a hearing be scheduled within three days following the notification of the admission of this action for nudity in order to proceed with the admission and examination of evidence.
05:54And third, to declare valid the administrative action for the counting of votes carried out by the voting boards for the election of the president, presidential appointees, and deputies to the Central American Parliament, on the grounds of notifications established in the article 298, paragraph 4 of the electoral law of Honduras, and therefore, that the election be repeated in each and every one of the voting boards at the presidential level within ten days following notification of the resolution.

06:35Welcome back.
06:37Welcome back.
06:38In Mexico, the first InnovaFest 2015 concluded an initiative that promotes technological development with a social focus.
06:44Participants from 39 countries engaged in dialogue about the path that technological innovation and science should form.
06:47with a human rights and environmental approach.
06:48Antonio Aranda has a story.
06:54More than 43 million dollars in investments for science and technology projects for Mexico and Latin America will be applied to initiatives presented by the President of Mexico.
07:01InnovaFest 2025, which was held at the Morelos Convention Center.
07:08The resources that the economy ministry is allocating this year should reach a figure close to 800 million.
07:15and the first transfer of the 2025 fiscal year has already been made.
07:22InnovaFest 2025.
07:23InnovaFest 2025 is a Mexican initiative that promotes technological innovation.
07:24InnovaFest 2025 is a Mexican initiative that promotes technological innovation.
07:25InnovaFest 2025 will be applied to initiatives presented during InnovaFest 2025, which was held at the Morelos Convention Center.
07:29The resources that the economy ministry is allocating this year should reach a figure close to 800 million, and the first transfer of the 2025 fiscal year has already been made.
07:43InnovaFest 2025 is a Mexican initiative that promotes technological development with a social focus, allowing scientific advances such as low-cost prosthetics to be applied for the well-being of people.
08:00Of course, for now it is for the service of Mexico, but we must all think about it and share it, for example with Latin America, where many prostheses are needed and it must be said,
08:12because of diabetes. We all know the problem of the diabetic foot.
08:19The gathering attracted more than 7,000 people, 80 investment funds, and 75 local and national research centers.
08:29For technological innovators, it is important to access these funds to accelerate the development of their projects.
08:40We are seeking investment through sponsors to carry out these kinds of projects, take them to the next level, commercialize them, and work on them together,
08:47so that both graduates of Marista University and the team's participants can begin to innovate in the Mexican aeronautical and space field.
08:55The goal of innovation in science is to replace imports in order to reduce the technological dependence of the national industrial sector.
09:06The government of Mexico believes that for the next edition of InnovaFest in 2026, at least double the investment can be achieved for the development of science and technology projects to benefit Mexico and the region.
09:22In Brooklyn, New York, a PAC anti-ICE training session drew crowds as organizers urged attendees to record every encounter with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
09:40The event hosted by the Grassroots Hands Off Coalition comes amid mounting concerns over escalating immigration rates across the city.
09:47Organizers emphasize that film and ice interactions can serve as both a protective measure and a tool for accountability,
09:54giving participants a sense of empowerment in the face of growing fears.
09:58The training reflects a broader approach by community groups to mobilize residents and safeguard immigrant rights during a tense political climate.
10:10It just feels better to be doing something rather than crying over videos or being enraged, you know.
10:20It's being able to take some action.
10:24Yeah.
10:25I'm very concerned about what's happening.
10:26I think we've all seen video of what are essentially kidnappings going on, a complete ignoring of any of the norms of what I thought was democracy,
10:39the norms of the Constitution, due process, everything.
10:44And I think here in the city, even though a lot of us agree, a lot of us aren't sure how to act yet.
10:51It's really important to me because I feel like we can do it.
10:54And I feel like it's going to take all of us.
10:56And I would rather funnel my fear and anger and sadness into building something joyful and hopeful
11:03and building a city and a country that we've never even dreamed of.
11:08China accused Japan of obstructing naval exercises during straining and denies accusations of dangerous radar guidance near Okinawa.
11:16The Chinese Navy reported on Sunday that a Japanese Self-Defense Forces aircraft suddenly approached Chinese naval units, interrupting training exercises.
11:24In response to this event, they assured that the exercises were announced by Beijing in advance,
11:29and therefore the approach of the Japanese aircraft qualifies as harassment,
11:33seriously affecting the activity and putting flight safety at risk.
11:37Meanwhile, the Chinese Armed Forces decide to take the necessary measures in accordance with the law
11:41to safeguard their safety, rights and legitimate interests.

13:36which has led to higher costs.

13:46if staff continue to operate in the Gaza Strip.
13:49Palestinian health authorities have warned of a worsening humanitarian and health crisis in the Gaza Strip,
13:59blaming Israeli attacks and the ongoing blockade for aggravating conditions in the enclave.
14:05Officials said shortages of food and medicine combined with heavy rains are fueling the spread of diseases,
14:11particularly among children.
14:13They also accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of violating ceasefire obligations
14:18by preventing the entry of medical and electrical equipment needed to operate devices in Gaza's hospitals.
14:24The warnings highlight growing concern over the deteriorating living conditions
14:29and the vulnerability of civilians in the territory.
14:32The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and expatriates of Palestine denounces attempts by the Israel regime
14:42to displace the population of the Gaza Strip despite the current truce.
14:45The Foreign Ministry emphasizes that Israel continues with its plans to displace Palestinians from their land
14:51through military pressure and deliberate persecution under inhumane conditions.
14:55The Ministry emphasizes that the Netanyahu government continues to threaten to undermine peace
15:00and the Palestinian presence in their homeland while calling into question the word of the Zionist regime
15:05in the face of the 20-point truce presented by the United States.
15:15A German Chancellor, Friedrich Merz, arrived in Israel this Saturday on his first official visit as head of government.
15:21Even before landing in Tel Aviv, he made a stop in Jordan where he urged the Israeli authorities
15:25to desist from any attempt to annex the West Bank.
15:29During his stay in Amman, Chancellor Merz reiterated the need to move forward toward a two-state solution
15:35and warned that no measures should be taken that implied the annexation of Palestinian territories.
15:40Merz stated that Germany seeks to contribute to a new order in the Middle East
15:44that would allow Israelis, Palestinians and neighboring countries to live in peace and security.
15:49The head of government acknowledged that the Israeli offensive in Gaza poses dilemmas for his administration,
15:54though he emphasized that there are no fundamental differences between Berlin and Jerusalem
15:59regarding support for Israel and the pursuit of regional stability.
16:02In other topics in India, the death toll from a nightclub fire rose to 25.
16:13Local authorities say that the dead include tourists and local workers.
16:16They also announced that a thorough investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire
16:21and possible responsible parties.
16:23For his part, the Indian government expressed his condolences to the families of the victims
16:27and announced that compensation of up to $2,200 will be provided.
16:30In Vietnam, the art of Dong Ho painting, a fundamental part of the nation's identity, is facing two challenges.
16:43The recent government motion to include it in UNESCO's List of Intangible Cultural Heritage
17:02and the shortage of practitioners due to competition from modern art.
17:06Let's see more details in the following work.
17:11Dong Ho painting has been a fundamental part of Vietnam's cultural repertoire for centuries.
17:18The practice involves a complex and multifaceted process that requires skills in painting with cutting and sublimation.
17:28Today, the art of Dong Ho painting is facing a crisis, as there are very few of its representatives left in the country.
17:39In the city of the same name as the art form lives Nguyen Vion, a descendant of a family with more than 400 years of experience in Dong Ho.
17:49The process begins with creating a painting on paper.
18:00This design is then glued to a wooden block, where an artisan carves its reversed image into the wood.
18:06Once the black outline is ready, the artisan fills in the colors.
18:10Dong Ho folk paintings typically use between two and six colors, usually five basic tones,
18:17with the six created by combining two of them.
18:20Dong Ho folk paintings include several techniques, such as press printing and hand painting.
18:26This piece, for example, is made using the press printing method.
18:30First, we create the outline drawing, then carve it into the wood block, and finally press the inked block onto paper to produce the painting.
18:39For a painting like The Pig Family, which uses five colors, we need five separate wood blocks, one for each color.
18:48These pictures are like the nợn drawing, five colors and five colors.
18:54To stylize the details of the painting, a wood block is used for the outline and several others for each printed color,
19:04and they are carefully engraved by hand so that the wood blocks can be preserved for generations.
19:11In the past, to prepare Vietnamese New Year paintings, artisans had to begin the process six or seven months in advance.
19:26To create a Dong Ho folk painting, every element comes from nature, flowers, leaves, plants and materials sourced from the mountains, forests and sea.
19:40The bark of the dew plant from the forest is used to make dew paper.
19:44Scallop shells from the sea provide a white pigment, earth from the mountains yield the maroon color.
19:50Flowers and leaves make the yellow and green pigments, while the black comes from the ash of burnt bamboo leaves.
19:57All of these natural materials come together to create Dong Ho folk paintings, which traditionally convey wishes of good fortune and prosperity.
20:07To create the beautiful and beautiful beautiful things of human.
20:09This style of painting is considered a faithful reflection of traditional aesthetic values, social philosophies and humanitarian desires.
20:23The traditional themes of Dong Ho painting are symbols of good luck, historical figures, popular allegories, folk tales and social commentary.
20:33Elements of everyday life are well integrated into these paintings to express the thoughts and desires of the people.
20:40Industrial printing and modern digital images have reduced the demand for handmade prints, and economic pressures have led some families to abandon the production of folk art.
20:51New Yen remains committed to keeping her family's legacy alive, and to involving nature in every aspect of this art, not just in the illustration.
21:05In 2020, the Vietnamese government gave its support for the submission of the paintings to the UNESCO Preservation Program, for their cultural value.
21:14This year, New Yen and other Dong Ho practitioners support this decision, and ask the international organization to add the art form to the list for intangible cultural heritage, in need of urgent safeguarding.
