It's not very often a team facing a massive victory target over 500 runs heading into the final day would exude confidence...

But the West Indies are quietly confident with their situation against New Zealand tomorrow.

And with reason, as the Black Caps have a couple handicaps that could hinder their own pursuit of victory.

00:00Even the most optimistic West Indian fan will tell you New Zealand are the clear favourites going into the final day tomorrow.
00:07For the West Indies to win this test, it will require them shattering their own record successful test chase of 418 runs.
00:14However, losing two front-line bowlers certainly has the Black Caps' concern.
00:19We've got to break this partnership first and foremost because they've looked pretty solid.
00:22There's been a couple of half chances to keep us interested, but in fairness to them,
00:29they've played really well.
00:31So I'm not quite sure who will start up with tomorrow, but we've also got to think that the new ball's not far away either.
00:36And with only operating with two seamers, you know, suddenly that's a really tricky conversation to make sure,
00:43hey, do we attack in the morning or do we hold them back for the new ball?
00:46But we'll probably see what the overheads are like tomorrow, see how guys front up, and then we'll go from there.
00:52New Zealand have been riddled with injuries throughout the series,
00:55and the latest two has their bowling coach Jacob Orem already thinking ahead.
01:00I'm confident that we have the quality.
01:02I mean, Matt Henry's growing on trees around the country, but, you know, we have the quality,
01:07and as I said before, the experience of our white ball campaigns going back probably 12 months to 18 months
01:13where guys have got that international experience, and I would hope, know that they belong here
01:19and can perform a job for us.
01:20In saying that, well, Zach's playing his second, Duff's playing his second,
01:24and then we look forward and we'll worry about the second test when we get to Wellington.
01:28But, you know, it's a big ask for these guys, but I have confidence.
01:32They're not going to be able to step into Matt Henry's shoes,
01:35but if we can get them working to their strengths and we have a nice game plan with good field sets around them,
01:39we'll be okay.
01:40While the host has a lot to consider, Kamar Roach made the West Indies' intentions come tomorrow very clear.
01:46If we're in a position to win the game, we are definitely going to go for the win.
01:50Yeah, I think, obviously, 500 runs is a lot of runs.
01:53We looked at it in our fourth innings, but, obviously, unfortunately,
01:57we didn't have a couple of borders down, but we played in our hands a little bit,
02:01so the way Shea batted and Justin in the end there was fantastic.
02:05So I think tomorrow morning we'll come up with a plan, and I'm sure that we'll...
02:10At the veteran, Pisa reflected on his successful return to test action as he nears his milestone.
02:16I'm always the one who has to try to prove themselves.
02:18I've always been that person, so I'm always up to play test cricket.
02:25I know it's hard for a lot of people going around,
02:27but I think I find a lot of joy in performing at a test level, being the highest level of cricket.
02:33So, for me, it's all about mentally going out there and keep putting the higher yards in.
02:39I've had a long, long journey, and I try not to think about 300 too much,
02:45but, you know, the closer you get to it, it's in the back of your mind.
02:48So, for me, it's just about being professional, going out there,
02:53playing the best cricket I can play for the team,
02:56and, obviously, try to influence some wins, and that's my main objective.
