00:24The actress stars as Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe in the forthcoming movie.
00:28Blonde was given the rare adults-only rating for, quote,
00:31some sexual content by the Motion Picture Association in March.
00:35When asked about the rating by a French fashion magazine, she said,
00:38I didn't understand why that happened.
00:40I can tell you a number of shows or movies that are way more explicit
00:43with a lot more sexual content than Blonde.
00:46She went on to say,
00:47But to tell the story, it is important to show all these moments in Marilyn's life
00:51that made her end up the way that she did.
00:53It needed to be explained.
00:55Everyone in the cast knew we had to go to uncomfortable places.
