00:00What's up guys? We're here with Victor Ortiz. He's starring with Jake Gyllenhaal in Southpaw.
00:05We see him in Nightcrawler and totally transforming for Southpaw. His acting totally transformed.
00:12What does it do for someone like you, who's kind of the opposite of Jake Gyllenhaal, going
00:17from boxing to acting. He's going from acting to boxing.
00:20Man, it's insane. I just sit back and try to gain as much knowledge from him. I just
00:26asked a lot of questions, really, because these are the elite of actors. When I did
00:32Expendables 3, I never ever had an acting class. I just went and shot, but I didn't know there
00:37was such thing as acting classes. So next thing you know, I'm shooting all this with Jake Gyllenhaal.
00:43When you came on to the film, were you there to help train him as well?
00:48We were supposed to hang out here in LA for a couple months beforehand, but I think I mistyped
00:54his number, maybe. Okay. It happens. Jake Gyllenhaal gives me his number. Yeah, I'll mix it.
00:59I was just lost looking. I'm like, whoa, this is Jake. Yeah, but I got you. I just realized
01:04I had one number missing. So I was just like, you know what? I'll see him on set.
01:10Work on your defense. Like, don't hit him. Like, with my glove.
01:14Touch him with your gloves. Just block.
01:21Hey, champ. Move your feet. Move your feet.
01:24Come on, champ. You got to turn your body when you block. You're just covering up.
01:30In Southpaw, my name is Ramon, and I am a street kid that one day wants to arise to be something in
01:37the life of boxing. I want to be something like Billy Hope, which is Jake Gyllenhaal,
01:42and I want to just pursue this dream of being something. I try to relate as much as I could
01:45to that kid that I once was. Who's your idol? Who's your acting idol? There's a lot of them,
01:50man. Mel Gibson's pretty awesome. Tom Hanks is awesome, too, man. Favorite Tom Hanks movie?
01:55Uh, Saving Private Ryan. He's amazing, bro. What's the weirdest thing you've ever sent to Jake Gyllenhaal?
02:00Uh, this little kangaroo. Yeah. He's got boxing gloves on, and he's stretching like this. Oh,
02:05I see. He says, once I'm done stretching, I'm going to knock you out or something like that.
02:10I thought it was pretty funny. What did he say? He's like, bring it. It's pretty funny. Okay,
02:15and finally, so I've been working on some stuff, and I just want you to just give me,
02:19tell me what I'm doing right. This is my normal situation here. That'd be Southpaw. That'd be
02:24Southpaw. Mm-hmm. I'm a Southpaw. You're a Southpaw. I'm a Southpaw. I'm a Southpaw. You have that in
02:28common. Okay, so. Tap-tap. Tap-tap. Right? Tap-tap. Right? Is that okay? No. No, no, no. Hit me.
02:35Come and do it. It'd probably be more like, this is it. Boom, boom. I think. Boom, boom, cross. Right.
02:41Okay. That good? I can't teach you so much, bro, because you're going to hurt me, man. It's not fair.
02:46I came here for an interview. Charlie Behrens here, host of Bad Hollywood. I'm calling out you,
02:52Victor Ortiz, you to fight me, here, anytime. Man, boxing's tough. It's rough, bro.
03:05How'd you like to fight for that title? You think that you can beat Magic? Not without you.
