On this Special Report, the focus is on the upcoming winter session of Parliament, which is expected to be stormy. The opposition is reportedly rattled by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) landslide victory in the Bihar assembly elections and plans to corner the government on the 'Special Intensive Revision' of electoral rolls. Other key flashpoints include the Delhi blast, the National Herald case, and the allocation of funds to Tamil Nadu. An unidentified speaker asserts that 'if the Parliament is stalled... the responsibilities squarely rest on this government'. The programme also highlights the government's stance on ensuring smooth functioning and discusses international relations, specifically the India-China ties and the Modi-Xi Jinping meeting.

00:03What are the developments we are looking at when we speak of the winter session?
00:06It's a three-week-long winter session of the parliament which will begin on Monday.
00:11Ahead of the winter session, the government was just holding an all-party meeting
00:15which has gotten over now.
00:16The biggest flashpoint in this winter session seems to be the special intensive revision exercise.
00:21The opposition seems to be rattled with the landslide win of the NDA in Bihar
00:26and will be leaving no stone unturned to corner the government over the electoral roll division issue.
00:32Now the customary meeting has been convened or rather was convened
00:36to ensure smooth functioning of the both houses during the very session
00:39where several new bills are planned to be introduced.
00:42Opposition has already launched a scathing attack at the government
00:45and claimed that democracy has been murdered and that votes have been stolen.
00:50Opposition is also likely to corner the government over the Delhi blast
00:54with the battleground already heating up.
00:57More fireworks are in fact expected during the parliamentary session.
01:02And the international session, the government is being featured in the territory of India.
01:08But the internet is already on the military.

03:27So viewers, the battle lines clearly seem to have been drawn as the sunset goes into the winter session.
03:49But what it seems to be is that it's going to be a whirlwind of a winter session when we speak of it.
03:55And let's quickly take you through some of the key flashpoints that we have already listed out from the all-party meeting that's taken place.
04:02Number one is the electoral roll revision.
04:05That is the SIR that we are speaking of.
04:07That still remains to be one of the key points or rather the key demands when we speak of what the opposition wants to debate on in the very parliament.
04:16Number two would be the vote theft charge by the opposition.
04:20Couple of charges that have come in during press conferences done by the leader of the opposition in the lower house.
04:26That is Rahul Gandhi.
04:28What shall his major points be when he brings it up to the very lower house itself?
04:34That is something we will wait and watch as he will also be addressing the lower house.
04:39The flashpoint number three would be again Bihar Assembly polls.
04:42That is something we have been discussing that how the NDA's historic mandate that they secured right a month ago or rather in this very month in Bihar has rattled the opposition.
04:54Which is why that is another focus that focal point for the opposition at this given point when we speak of the winter parliamentary session.
05:01Next is the National Herald case.
05:03This is more of a focus one would say from the centre's point of view because this is a case that's only amping up and now there are certain serious charges that's come in against Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and their top aide that is Sam Petroda.
05:18So how will this be brought up in the parliamentary session is also something that we are waiting and keeping a lookout at.
05:25Flashpoint number five will be shelved bill for Chandigarh control.
05:28That's another major point that we are bringing to you that was initially said it would be brought in whether Chandigarh, who shall be in control of Chandigarh, whether there will be a governor that will be coming in to look at the administrative part of this entire region or shall it continue as the administration has been continuing there.
05:46That is something we will again be waiting and watching out for.
05:49Flashpoint number six will be Tamil Nadu versus centre over the Tamil Nadu development.
05:53There has been a lot of controversies when we speak of Tamil Nadu development because the government there has consistently been saying that centre has not been giving them funds for the required projects.
06:02The latest flashpoint being the metro construction across cities like Madurai and Coimbatore there.
06:07So how will that be playing out?
06:09That's another major point that we will be focusing on.
06:11Again, flashpoint number seven is a discussion on Vande Mataram because that is a song we just saw the celebrations 150 years of our national song Vande Mataram.
06:21The centre themselves, they have come out to say that there are paragraphs from it that have been from the original song that has in fact been omitted.
06:29That's again another major point that we are looking at.
06:32We will see how that plays out.
06:34Now there are some international affairs as well that we will be looking at.
06:38It's the Modi-Xi Jinping meet as well.
06:41Given that India-China relationships has seen certain major turnarounds this year, especially when we looked at the SCO summit.
06:49And then now this very meeting that is to take place, these are also matters that has been brought up and spoken about by the opposition parties.
06:57What are their expectations from India-China ties?
07:00And the opposition has also been very critical of this government and their handling of the entire China matter.
07:07So that is something as well that we are looking at when we speak of some of the key flashpoints developing between the two sides.
07:14We are looking at the two sides.
07:16We are looking at the two sides.
