Transcript
00:00Congratulations! You already won a Grammy today!
00:02I did! Thank you, thanks.
00:04What was your reaction when they called your name?
00:06I was very, very happily surprised and so excited
00:10and so happy to be there and celebrate the music and this movie.
00:15What was it like collaborating with Christopher Nolan
00:17and doing the music for Oppenheimer?
00:20It's incredible. I mean, this is our second film together
00:23and just the sheer, you know, the sheer time and interest
00:29that Chris Nolan puts into the music
00:32and how, you know, how close we collaborate with each other
00:37and how much time he puts into that collaboration
00:40and his curiosity for different production techniques,
00:43different songwriting techniques or structures
00:46and it's such a, you can tell that he is very interested in it.
00:53You're also nominated for an Oscar this year.
00:56How are you feeling going into the Oscars?
00:58Man, I'm a little nervous but just excited to, you know,
01:05to be fortunate enough to be among this incredible group of nominees
01:09and, you know, just sitting here at the Grammys so far
01:12just seeing all these incredible musicians and artists and songwriters
01:15and being part of that community is very special, so.
01:18Like you said, so many amazing nominees this year.
01:21Who's won that you were listening to on repeat this past year?
01:24This past year, I mean, I loved SZA's album.
01:29I was listening a lot to that.
01:31That's the journey she tells. It's very cinematic.
01:34And also when Kill Bill came out, that song, how it was just,
01:37oh my God, what is this?
01:39You try to put it, first thing you try to do is like put it in the pocket, right?
01:42It's this, this style of music, this style of music.
01:44But it was just such a, you couldn't do that.
01:47And I love that with some music surprises you
01:49and you don't really know where it is.
01:51So you have to use your imagination.
01:53So that was, that was one of the highlights.
01:56That sounds great.
01:57So I got a question.
01:58Here you go.
02:00You'll see me in the picture.
02:01That's a lot.
02:02I was wondering what's going on.
02:03I was wondering, can you guys spread it out?
02:05How do you decide what's going on?
02:07How do you decide what's going on?
02:08I'm thinking about this, that's where you're going to ask the songwriters.
02:10You're wondering why, I'm thinking about this.
02:12So that's good.
02:13How do you decide what's going on?
02:14Right?
02:15I'm thinking about this.
02:16So we can see how you decide what we choose from.
02:18One of the highlights.
02:20Are we just really trying to do this.
