00:00From the Pep and Teller Theater at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas.
00:27Here's our host, Brooke Farris!
00:42Welcome to Fool Us. Seeing is believing, but you might not believe what you're about to see.
00:47We've got four magicians with their eyes on the prize, and I spy a challenge.
00:52Let's see what happens as we welcome the sharpest eyes in magic, Penn & Teller!
00:59Keep your eyes peeled for a magician to fool Penn & Teller, because if they do, you'll see them win a Fool Us trophy and a spot in Penn & Teller's Vegas show.
01:14Maybe we'll see our first magician do it.
01:21I am the shocker, and I am known for bringing the biggest, most outrageous things to Fool Us with Penn & Teller.
01:27But there is one thing I've never been able to do.
01:34That's actually Fool Grounds.
01:36But this time, I'm bringing some help.
01:39The craziest, most outrageous, most twisted mind in magic.
01:44This is Bizarro, the optical illusionist.
01:59For this man, normal is just a setting on the dryer.
02:03He doesn't say much, but he doesn't have to.
02:06He's going to let his actions speak for us.
02:09And now, we're going to bring our insanity to Penn & Teller.
02:15Penn & Teller, you might have been able to beat the shocker, but you're not going to beat Shock and Bizarre.
02:22We are going to fool you or die trying.
02:27Here comes one dangerous magic duo, Shock and Bizarre.
02:40How are you doing, Los Vegas? Let me hear you!
02:45There are a few things I've always wanted to do in magic since I was a little shocker.
02:50Appear on Fool Us with every single host.
02:54Brooke, so happy to have you here and it's so finely nice to meet you.
02:57Thank you. Nice to meet you, too.
02:59And performed the first stage illusion I ever saw.
03:04Now, the first one I saw wasn't done by a magician.
03:07It was done by a rock star.
03:09I saw Alice Cooper live on stage.
03:13Any Alice Cooper fans in the audience?
03:18Get your prostate checked.
03:20It's time.
03:21The Alice took out a six-foot-tall guillotine live on stage.
03:29This is the one I had.
03:31It consists of a stock and a blade.
03:34Anything that goes inside the stock is then taken care of by the blade.
03:40Now, we need someone to play the part of Alice.
03:43Brooke, can I borrow you for a little bit here?
03:45Yeah, absolutely.
03:46Hi.
03:48Place that on your right hand if you will.
03:50Okay.
03:51Because Brooke is going to play the part of Alice Cooper for her.
03:55So cool.
03:56Yeah, let's play with Alice.
03:57See, there we go.
03:58Alice Cooper.
04:02So they raised the blade of the guillotine up.
04:05They slid Alice Cooper inside.
04:08Uh-oh.
04:09Now, Brooke, I can tell you're a little bit nervous.
04:11Always.
04:12There's no reason to be nervous.
04:13If anything is to go wrong, Bizarro has actually contracted with one of the local hospitals
04:19to get a state-of-the-art cryogenic freezing chamber that if any body part is to come off,
04:24they are going to place it inside, rush it to the hospital, and reattach it in plenty of time.
04:30Last time we did it, the guy even told us to keep the tip.
04:37Now, Brooke, the music started to swell, the monsters started to growl,
04:43and then they dropped that blade straight through Alice's neck.
04:50And he remained completely unharmed.
04:55Woo!
04:56Thank you for helping me out, Brooke.
04:58You're welcome.
04:59And that was the version I got to do when I was starting out.
05:05But then I got better.
05:09And I can afford bigger toys.
05:29Count it down with me!
05:43Three!
05:45Two!
05:47One!
05:49Two!
05:50One!
05:51Two!
05:52One!
05:53One!
05:57Two!
05:59Two!
06:01One!
06:02One!
06:03Two!
06:05One!
06:07Two!
08:07Uh, will he be okay?
08:14How long have you two been working together?
08:17Oh, don't answer.
08:24Oh, no, no, no.
08:25Don't answer that.
08:27Ten years.
08:28Okay.
08:29Do you ever speak?
08:30Do you ever speak?
08:31No.
08:32All right, Bizarro.
08:36Let's find out if you fooled Penn and Teller.
08:39Oh, how you doing, Bizarro?
08:40I got to tell you, Brooke, these are two of our favorite people in the world.
08:45Bizarro and Shocker are just two of the best.
08:48And when we saw their names pop up, our hearts leapt with joy.
08:52And I got to tell you, this is very emotional for us because I also saw the Alice Cooper guillotine.
09:00And the method you're using on the guillotine is exactly the method Alice used.
09:07And Alice is a friend of ours.
09:08And when we first met Amazing Randy, who, as you know, or maybe you don't know, was one of our most important mentors and also designed all the magic tricks for Alice Cooper.
09:20And when I was 19 years old and first met Teller, we were invited over to Amazing Randy's house.
09:29We walked in and there were nothing but Alice Cooper heads all over there because Randy was working on that tour then and had all these perfect casts of Alice Cooper's head.
09:42One of the most thrilling moments of my life.
09:45And the guillotine that was actually used in the Alice Cooper show that Shocker saw, we now own.
09:53We have the actual guillotine.
09:55So we may know a little bit about how it works, but it is the best use of the daylight seance gimmick we have ever seen in our lives.
10:08So Bizarro, Shocker, two of our favorites, but we own the goddamn prop.
10:14What do you expect?
10:21Well, it's pretty clear that they know how the trick was done, eh, Bizarro?
10:25What's going to happen to Shocker?
10:34Shocker, Bizarro, everyone.
10:36That was fantastic.
10:39Penn and Teller have more tricks to figure out before closing the show with a trick of their own.
10:44So stay close.
10:55Welcome back.
10:56Let's keep the show rolling and bring out our next incredible act.
11:04When people say something is impossible, I see it as a challenge.
11:11My journey in magic started when I was 24, performing on the street out of my Volkswagen.
11:17I fought for the attention of my audience and I fought for tips.
11:21And in the process, I fell in love with magic.
11:24In 2007, I opened Europe's first close-up theater in Munich.
11:29They told me it was a crazy idea, but I did it anyway.
11:32It's now become a sanctuary for people who loves magic.
11:36Once, during a rehearsal, I fell five meters, smashing my elbow.
11:41Doctors said I'd never perform again.
11:43But with surgery and therapy, I made the impossible possible and regained the use of my arm.
11:51Performing in America for the first time makes me nervous.
11:54The language barrier, the pressure, but I love it.
11:58Will I fool Penn and Teller tonight?
12:00Remember, nothing is impossible.
12:03You just have to find the right solution.
12:05All the way from Germany, give it up for Alexander Kreis.
12:17Hello.
12:19My first definition of mental magic is that I can change thoughts.
12:24Your thought.
12:25I show you what I mean, okay?
12:27In my hand, I hold a...
12:29You can see what it is.
12:30Of course, it's a bonzig ball.
12:33But you're really sure about that.
12:36Because now I will change your mind.
12:40No many magicians, your spells.
12:42Abba-gadabba.
12:42Mental magic, no no set is necessary.
12:46Just a moment.
12:48It's enough to change.
12:57That was it.
13:03My second definition of mental magic is I know what happens in the future.
13:11I show you what I mean, okay?
13:13I have two boxes here on stage.
13:15And these boxes are predictions.
13:18Please, help me.
13:21I would love to.
13:21I would love to.
13:21Hello.
13:22Hi.
13:23How are you?
13:23You see, I have five balloons here, okay?
13:27Now it's your turn.
13:29You can make decisions, okay?
13:31Okay.
13:31Your job is to eliminate the first balloon by cutting the string.
13:37Okay.
13:38Which color you want to cut?
13:40Okay.
13:41And you want me to cut the string?
13:43Yes.
13:43Anywhere?
13:44Please.
13:46Okay.
13:47Okay.
13:47You ready?
13:48Yes.
13:49It's a wet one.
13:50Good choice.
13:52Wet.
13:52Oh, good choice.
13:54For the second, you can decide who chooses the color.
13:58Pen, teller, or yourself?
14:01Pen.
14:02Pen.
14:03Which color you want?
14:04Purple.
14:05Purple?
14:05Okay.
14:06Is the second balloon is purple?
14:07Okay.
14:09And the third balloon.
14:11Who chooses the color?
14:14Okay.
14:15Pen, teller?
14:16Teller.
14:16Teller.
14:17What do you want?
14:18White.
14:20This one?
14:20This one?
14:21Me?
14:22Your job, yes.
14:23Okay.
14:23Are you ready?
14:23Yes, white.
14:24This is so deeper.
14:26Wow.
14:27Now we have 50-50, okay?
14:29We have orange and black.
14:33This is your choice.
14:35My choice?
14:36Yes.
14:37Uh, I'm going to go with my favorite color, orange.
14:42Okay.
14:42Ready?
14:43Yes.
14:45Beautiful moment.
14:46Yes, black one.
14:50This is the last balloon here on stage, correct?
14:53Yes.
14:54Yes.
14:54If you had made a different decision, then we would have a different result, correct?
14:59Correct.
15:00I say, I know the future, correct?
15:03He said that.
15:04Ladies and gentlemen, please come to me and this box, okay?
15:11Here is the balloon inside.
15:13Come to me.
15:13Okay.
15:14We take the balloon.
15:14This looks nice, huh?
15:16Okay.
15:16Here is black.
15:17Okay.
15:18And here is also, this is a black balloon.
15:22Yeah.
15:23Yeah.
15:24Wow.
15:25Great.
15:26Great.
15:26I have two boxes here on stage, correct?
15:31Yes.
15:31This is first prediction.
15:33Here is the second prediction, correct?
15:34Correct.
15:35I hope so.
15:36Okay.
15:36Yes.
15:37Okay.
15:38You can go to the box, please.
15:42And you can, looking inside.
15:46This always makes me nervous.
15:47Yes.
15:48But okay.
15:48You can, looking inside.
15:50Okay.
15:50Is there a prediction inside?
15:53Take it off.
15:54The box off?
15:54Okay.
15:55You see my second prediction.
15:56I do.
15:57Take the tube.
15:58Okay.
15:59Yes.
16:00Come to me back.
16:01Okay.
16:02Yes.
16:04Very carefully.
16:05Yeah.
16:06Perfect.
16:07Okay.
16:07This tube is really solid?
16:09Uh, yes.
16:11Both sides are closed.
16:12Nothing funny here.
16:13Should I open it?
16:13Yes.
16:17Okay.
16:17The paper.
16:18Take the paper out.
16:19Okay.
16:21Got it.
16:21How I love this moment.
16:23You do?
16:24You remember?
16:25Uh.
16:25The first balloon you want to cut was?
16:30Red.
16:31The red.
16:31Correct.
16:32Okay.
16:33Okay.
16:33You look.
16:34Is the left hand here, please?
16:35Okay.
16:36Is the right hand here?
16:37Okay.
16:37And the first balloon was?
16:39Okay.
16:39First was?
16:41First was?
16:41Red.
16:42Red.
16:42Wow.
16:44Yes.
16:45Very good.
16:46Amazing.
16:48Penny, you say which color?
16:50I said purple.
16:52Purple.
16:52And the second one, penna, pen, say, purple.
16:58Purple.
16:59Yes.
17:00Tell her, you say, and look, tell her, say, white.
17:0950-50, orange and black, here is, for this archer finalist,
17:17the gold.
17:20Thank you for having me.
17:25Yes.
17:25Alexander, here's to everyone.
17:28How did you go about deciding which act would be right for us tonight on this show?
17:45Oh, this is all my own creation.
17:50This is an original trick.
17:51Yes.
17:52Wow.
17:52And for me, magic is art, and I love to create my own tricks, and I show my own tricks
18:02in my show in Munich, and this is what I love in magic.
18:07This is my first time I perform here in USA, and this is the first time in English.
18:13This is your first time?
18:14Yes.
18:14This is my first time in English.
18:15Oh, my God.
18:16Oh, my God.
18:16Oh, my God.
18:17Oh, my God.
18:18Oh, my God.
18:19Oh, my God.
18:20You're fantastic.
18:21I learn six, eight weeks every day in English, and...
18:25Oh, wow.
18:26Well, we love having an original trick on this stage, so let's see if you fooled Penn and
18:31Teller.
18:32Okay.
18:33Are we ready?
18:34Yes.
18:35Boys, are you ready?
18:36Good luck.
18:37Great job.
18:38Oh, my goodness, Alexander.
18:43That...
18:44I...
18:45I like it.
18:50That's a good start.
18:51Ah.
18:52You floored us with the egg trick.
18:54We were floored with that, and then it just keeps going.
18:58Um, it just keeps going, and we have...
19:04We have some idea how you must...
19:08What?
19:09What?
19:10The craftsmanship...
19:11Are those moans or noises?
19:15My voice is cracking with emotion.
19:19Um...
19:20I've never seen this happen before, Penn.
19:21Yeah, I...
19:22You're starting to act like Teller.
19:23Yeah.
19:24We need to...
19:25We need to...
19:26We need to...
19:27This is a mercy killing.
19:29You fooled us.
19:30Oh, my God.
19:31This is a mercy killing.
19:32You fooled us.
19:33You fooled us.
19:34You did it.
19:35You did it.
19:37Oh!
19:38Oh!
19:39Oh!
19:40Oh, my God!
19:41Oh!
19:42Oh!
19:43Oh!
19:44Oh!
19:45Oh!
19:46Oh!
19:47Oh!
19:48Oh!
19:49Oh!
19:50Oh!
19:51Oh!
19:52Alexander Creece, everyone!
19:57Come on in here, boys.
19:59Alexander Creece!
20:01Wow!
20:02Tennanteller gave away a pool as trophies.
20:04See more magicians take on P&T after the break.
20:22Welcome back.
20:23Penn & Teller have already been fooled once tonight.
20:25Let's see if this next magician can make it too.
20:30I have been on Penn & Teller three times.
20:33And I've never fooled Penn & Teller, but my animals have.
20:36We've taken home three trophies.
20:38First, they were fooled by my chicken.
20:41Then they were fooled by my snake.
20:43And then they were fooled by my hamster, Hemsaris.
20:49Penn & Teller know I go through great lengths
20:51to find smart and exotic animals.
20:53They'll be ready for even the most obscure animal act.
20:57I've searched the planet, explored the pages of history,
21:00and now I must go back even further
21:03to something primordial.
21:05To the very beginning.
21:07So for tonight's trick,
21:09I've decided to put my eggs in a basket I know and trust.
21:13What better way to fool Penn & Teller
21:16than with the second order of chicken?
21:19Penn & Teller, now is your chance for redemption.
21:23Or will you be fooled again by your chicken?
21:33Here with the world's greatest mind-reading chicken,
21:36it's your old friend, three-time Fool Us winner, Yoda Rick.
21:44Hi, Penn & Teller.
21:46Since last time we've been here,
21:47Curry has picked up her mental abilities.
21:50She can now read anybody's mind.
21:53Let's start with Brooke.
21:54Brooke, can you take your purse and join us on stage?
21:57Sure.
21:58Hi.
21:59Hi.
22:00Can you feel that?
22:01Okay.
22:02Hello.
22:03Hi, Brooke.
22:04Hi.
22:05Oh.
22:06Oh, hi.
22:07Curry really likes you.
22:08Oh, he does?
22:09She would like you to get a high five.
22:11Can you please do like this?
22:12Sure.
22:13Cool.
22:15That is cool.
22:17Brooke, only say yes or no.
22:19Did you bring one of these four items in your purse?
22:22Yes.
22:23Cool.
22:24In a moment, I would like you to select one, hide it in the cup,
22:27and then place it under Curry's motivational bucket.
22:32Okay.
22:35Hide it, and when you're finished, give me a loud yes.
22:37Curry, don't look.
22:39Okay.
22:47Okay.
22:48I'm placing it in the cup, and I'm covering it with the bucket.
22:53Cool.
22:54It's time for Curry to read your mind.
22:58Really?
22:59Okay.
23:00Brooke, think about your selection, and then look into her eyes.
23:09Think about it.
23:13She's got it.
23:16Curry.
23:19What was Brooke thinking about?
23:30A credit card.
23:31Can you please show us that you indeed think about a credit card?
23:35Curry!
23:39Okay.
23:41Now, it is time for Curry to read everybody's mind.
23:45You all may select one of these objects.
23:48Or no, wait.
23:50She likes to step it up.
23:52You can select one of these 18 items.
23:57Brooke, in a moment, Curry is going to show us what people are thinking about.
24:01Every time she picks on something, can you please name it out loud?
24:05Yes.
24:07All right.
24:08And then, can you select somebody from the audience?
24:12Um, how about that guy?
24:15Right there.
24:16All right.
24:17Perfect.
24:18Hello, sir.
24:19In a moment, Curry is going to read your mind, okay?
24:21Okay.
24:22I want you to select one of the objects on the board.
24:24You can have a stand.
24:26Cool.
24:27Great.
24:28You have one in your mind?
24:29Big time.
24:30Yes.
24:31Really think about it.
24:32Focus on it.
24:33Oh, there's some mental powers coming out there.
24:36That's very strong.
24:37I think really strong.
24:39Oh, the necklace.
24:40A necklace.
24:41Did you think about the necklace?
24:43Big time.
24:44Yes.
24:45Great.
24:46Curry.
24:48Teller, can you please join us on stage?
24:51Brooke, thank you so much.
24:53You've been amazing.
24:54Brooke, thank you.
24:55Thank you so much.
24:59Hello, Teller.
25:00Hi.
25:01Nice to see you again.
25:02Oh, Curry is already picking up on something.
25:05You think she has some hidden devices.
25:08You can check everything.
25:09Everything's clear.
25:11All perfect.
25:14All good.
25:16That's enough.
25:17Teller, I would like you to write down a two-digit number.
25:22Write it down when you're finished.
25:25Hide it and then tap me on the shoulder.
25:30Great.
25:33Think about your number.
25:36And then look into her eyes.
25:46Oh, she got you.
25:47She got you.
25:48Yes, what a great conversation you had there.
25:50Curry.
25:51The first digit.
25:53What is the first digit, Curry?
25:55A five.
25:56She picked on a five.
25:57The second digit.
25:58She picked on a seven.
25:59Can you please show us?
26:00Did you indeed think about a five and a seven?
26:01Five.
26:02Seven.
26:03Curry.
26:04Yo, Derek, everyone.
26:05And chicken curry.
26:06Welcome back.
26:08It's so great to be back here.
26:09It feels like coming home.
26:10I know that perfecting a magic trick is very time consuming.
26:21Is it even harder with a chicken?
26:23It's really hard to the chicken.
26:24Yeah.
26:25Do all chickens have magical powers?
26:26No, I'm afraid not.
26:27It's only Curry.
26:28And when did you discover that she had this magical power?
26:30I had her from when she was a baby chicken.
26:31And I just couldn't notice that she picked on my feelings.
26:33That she was a baby chicken.
26:34And I just couldn't notice that she picked on my feelings.
26:35That she was a baby chicken.
26:36That she was a baby chicken.
26:37Like when I was set, she came closer to me.
26:38So that's how I realized that she has a special ability.
26:40Well, all right, yo.
26:41Let's find out if chicken curry is taking home a Fullest Trophy, shall we?
26:42Yes.
26:43Good luck, Curry.
26:46Boys, come on.
26:47Come on.
26:48Come on.
26:49Come on.
26:50Come on.
26:51Come on.
26:52Come on.
26:53Come on.
26:54Come on.
26:55Come on.
26:56Come on.
26:57Come on.
26:58Come on.
26:59Come on.
27:00Come on.
27:01Come on.
27:02Come on.
27:03Come on.
27:04Come on.
27:05Come on.
27:07Boys.
27:08Whew.
27:13Yo and Curry.
27:15Always nice to have you on the show.
27:17You always come out here with your animals and do wonderful, wonderful tricks.
27:21We absolutely love you.
27:22So funny.
27:23But let's talk turkey.
27:25No offense, Curry.
27:28We have had the finest Spanish card mechanics out here.
27:33We've had the finest German illusion engineers out here.
27:38We have had very funny Canadians.
27:41We have had all sorts of genius magicians out here.
27:45And you come out with the chicken twice.
27:49Once the chicken fools us, it will not happen again.
27:54We have weighed all the things that are possible.
27:58We have the impression that your damn chicken has better senses than us.
28:07Almost extrasensory.
28:09And I will tell you this time, we love you and we love your stupid chicken.
28:14But with respect to the card mechanics, the engineers, the geniuses that have been out here, a chicken will not fool us twice.
28:27Fair enough.
28:28All right.
28:29What do you think, Yo?
28:30Did Curry fool Penn & Teller?
28:31I don't think she did it this time.
28:33But I'm really impressed because there are so many layers in her magic.
28:36So great job to you guys.
28:38We loved it.
28:39And it was a pleasure working with you, Curry.
28:40Oh, she loves you.
28:41She likes one more pet.
28:42Thank you so much.
28:43Come back and see us.
28:45See you.
28:46Keep it right here.
28:51More magicians will try to earn a fullest trophy when we come back.
29:09Welcome back.
29:10We constantly search the globe to bring you the best magicians like this one right here.
29:15My life is a great club.
29:20I always grew up as a disciple to my father.
29:22I always thought I was a good one.
29:23But my magic is ahead of me.
29:26I felt like my life is so easy to be able to achieve this in my life.
29:29I never thought I was able to enjoy this.
29:32My life is not too much.
29:33My father is a good one.
29:34My family is a good one.
29:37And my family thanks to me for this.
29:39Because of the magic of my life, it was possible for me.
29:42I have been training for a few years to teach the仏教 of the儀式.
29:47I do not have to do it properly.
29:50I have been told that I can't understand what happens.
29:54I have been told that I can't understand the problems.
29:58I have been taught this集中力.
30:01I am very powerful.
30:04Pen. Tell.
30:06I am the only one in the world.
30:10My pleasure is to give you the knowledge and my skills.
30:25Please welcome Buddhist monk and master magician, Gotayashi.
30:29My name is Gotayashi, a real monk.
30:50Buddhism and magic are very similar in imagination.
30:56This is a Buddhist bell.
30:59Orin.
31:01Which produces a delightful sound.
31:06We ring this bell during our rituals.
31:10Let's try.
31:12Beautiful.
31:15Now, let's cover this.
31:19Listen.
31:20The sound becomes smaller and smaller inside.
31:25Imagine.
31:27Not just the sound.
31:31This is the magic of imagination.
31:36Buddhism is very strict.
31:45They won't allow you to have playing cards or coins.
31:50So instead, I use these.
31:51Imagine.
31:52Here.
31:53I imagine.
31:54Hop.
31:55A red ball.
31:56With my magic.
31:57Hop.
31:58Now, two balls.
31:59One last time.
32:00Hop.
32:01Now, three balls.
32:02One ball.
32:03Two balls.
32:12One ball.
32:13Two balls.
32:14One last time.
32:15Hop.
32:16Now, three balls.
32:22One ball, two balls, two cocks, two balls.
32:35Usually I'm a monk, but today I'm a monk-dician.
32:45One ball, two balls in the cup.
32:52One ball, two.
32:57Now they move.
33:04It's imagination.
33:06Now this one disappears and this one moves.
33:13This time, I will show you the moment when they move.
33:21Watch, three, two, one.
33:26Oh, sorry, it moved, but not the balls, the cups.
33:32Okay, again, three, two, one.
33:39And it moves, thank you very much.
33:49Now I will put the inside of my tamoto, not the pocket, tamoto.
33:56But imagine, imagine it coming back, hop, then it will come back.
34:03But remember, there are two balls, not one.
34:10Again, hop, but this time, in between the cups.
34:25Just like Buddhism requires individual imagination.
34:31This time, watch with your imagination.
34:33Imagination.
34:34Hop.
34:35Hop.
34:36Hop.
34:37Hop.
34:38Hop.
34:39Hop.
34:40.
34:47.
34:53.
35:05.
36:11I have to ask you, are you the only monk-gician?
36:29Yes.
36:30I thought so.
36:35Can you tell me a little bit about your university and what that was like?
36:39Yes.
36:40Yes.
36:52What is the most challenging part about being a magician for you?
36:55Yeah.
36:56Yeah.
36:57Yeah.
36:58Yeah.
37:17Okay.
37:18Boys.
37:20We are so honored to have a monk on the show.
37:24That's really wonderful.
37:26And you just do such a beautiful, beautiful job.
37:30And the tone of it is so different than other cups and balls.
37:34It gives it a kind of a depth and a pensive quality that the cups and balls always needed
37:41and that Americans really don't bother doing.
37:44We've gone so far into the witty and so far away from just the beauty of the absolute magic.
37:51Now we've done a lot of cups and balls.
37:54We also know there's a little bit of a language problem.
37:58So we're certainly not going to try to give you code words into a language that we don't know.
38:03So we'll just table the thought of that and talk about just how much we loved your performance,
38:10how honored we are to have you here, and thank you so much.
38:14But we don't think you fooled us because we do the cups and balls a lot.
38:19Yeah.
38:20I'm glad they spared you from the code words.
38:24Yeah.
38:28Go Taishi, do they know how you did your trick?
38:31Uh, they got me.
38:34It was wonderful to have you. What a beautiful act. Thank you.
38:41Thank you so much.
38:42Thank you so much.
38:44Go Taishi.
38:51Oh, pencils down.
38:53Pen and Teller, we're done testing you tonight.
38:55Why don't you perform your own magic trick right after this quick break?
38:59Welcome back.
39:13We can't say goodnight without spending some time with our fabulous hosts.
39:17So give it up for Pen and Teller.
39:19You know what, we've said on the show a zillion times, we love being fooled.
39:27We love that feeling of having no idea how something was done.
39:31But we have to confess that once in a while we like figuring them out too.
39:35There's something wonderful about sitting, watching a trick, and all of a sudden having a ha.
39:40All of a sudden a ha pops into our head and we realize how the trick is being done.
39:44Now people watch this show for all different reasons.
39:47Some people watch it to just see the greatest magicians in the world do their tricks and they're done.
39:52Other people watch it to learn magic and they'll see a trick.
39:55And it's true, Brooke.
39:56If you go to the internet and search enough every trick on here, you can find out how it's done and learn magic.
40:02And that's wonderful.
40:03And other people watch for just that a-ha to see if they can figure something out watching it once.
40:09And here's one you can figure out.
40:11You can get the a-ha.
40:13Now Teller has a prediction here.
40:15Okay.
40:16There's a few rules here.
40:18The prediction won't change.
40:20There's no magic thing built in here.
40:22And the other rule is that, Brooke, we haven't set this up.
40:25You don't know what we're gonna do.
40:26This is all completely honest and you can figure it out.
40:29We've set it up here kind of like a syllogism.
40:31We have A, B, and C.
40:33We have A, which is apple.
40:35Okay.
40:36We have B, which is banana.
40:39And we have C, which is carrot.
40:43So just give me one of those.
40:46Would you please, Brooke?
40:47Banana.
40:48Banana.
40:49Okay, good.
40:50And then pick another one.
40:53Carrot.
40:54Okay.
40:55In the back?
40:56Yeah.
40:57Okay.
40:58And then just take the apple.
40:59I'll take the apple.
41:01You had a free choice in all those things, didn't you?
41:02I did.
41:03I did.
41:04Now watch this.
41:05You can figure this out.
41:07There's the prediction that Teller's been holding.
41:09Would you read it, please, Brooke?
41:10I have the apple.
41:11Yeah.
41:12You have the banana.
41:13Yep.
41:14And the carrot is in the bag.
41:16And the carrot is in the bag.
41:17Okay, what?
41:18Right there.
41:19And to figure this out, you gotta know that Teller did all the magic.
41:22And you can figure it out, and you can get in.
41:25Aha.
41:32I guess tonight was destined to be amazing.
41:34And I predict that our next show will also be a fantastic one.
41:37So join us next time when Fool Us returns.
41:42We'll see you next time.
41:43We'll see you next time.
41:44Bye.
42:12Bye.
42:13Bye.
42:14Bye.
42:15Bye.
42:16Bye.
42:17Bye.
42:18Bye.
42:19Bye.
42:20Bye.
42:21Bye.
42:22Bye.
42:23Bye.
42:24Bye.
42:25Bye.
42:26Bye.
42:27Bye.
42:28Bye.
42:29Bye.
42:30Bye.
42:31Bye.
42:32Bye.
42:33Bye.
42:34Bye.
42:35Bye.
42:36Bye.
42:37Bye.
42:38Bye.
42:39Bye.
42:40Bye.
