01:30I'm mainly a director of TV commercials and other things, but I'm also a magician.
01:38When I was young, I really knew what I wanted to do.
01:42I wanted to be a storyteller, create new worlds, basically direct things, but I didn't know
01:46that back then.
01:47I started with skateboard videos and 25 years later I'm shooting commercials with big talent.
01:53I like to play with images.
01:55I like to experiment with sound.
01:58What I do on film, I also do it in real life.
02:01I spend my summers doing interactive theater installations with a big group of friends.
02:05And that's where I learned to use my magic in a more theatrical, cinematic way.
02:09I'm telling stories and traveling the world.
02:12I'm doing what I wanted to do when I was 12.
02:15And I'm still sort of 12 in my mind.

02:37Born with the head of a bison, he had to deal with the cruelty and misunderstanding from those

02:43So he would often go where he felt at home, in nature.
02:47There is where he developed his magical powers.
02:50Today he is here among us to tell his story.
02:53Dear audience, please welcome, Jones Jones Labrie.
02:57Born on an apple orchard during the full moon, Jones had a strong connection with nature.
03:08He has the ability to take simple elements and transform them into extraordinary creations.
03:17When Jones Jones is surrounded by nature, his powers are the strongest.
03:27Jones learned that if you put love into something as small as an apple seed,
03:35it will grow and grow until the love becomes visible.
03:57One day he received an invitation from a certain ten in Peller,
04:00a gentleman that owned a circus and were really eager to meet him.
04:03So he went to visit them to see their acts.
04:06And out of nowhere she fell from the sky.
04:09Brooke, the amazing trapeze artist.
04:12She saw the broken boy in him.
04:14He saw her natural inner beauty.
04:17Without hesitation he signed the contract the man offered him.
04:20Finally, respected for his abilities and close to the woman he fell in love with.

25:31Last year, when I was on Fool Us, I had an incredible experience, but it was also really intimidating because I've never performed in front of an audience so big.
25:40You've got the two ladders there, which is really nice, and you get all the different color papers.
25:44I like bright colors, and I have a lot of funky, colorful clothes.
25:49Color is also great for misdirection in magic.
25:52I use it to help me fool people.
25:54When I'm not performing magic, I help teach at a special educational needs school.
25:59The idea for tonight's trick came to me one day when I was working with the children.
26:03It sort of just clicked.
26:05So I am really excited to be back on the Fool Us stage.
26:10Hopefully, I won't be as nervous as last time.
26:12It's time to see whether I've learned enough to fool Penn and Teller.
26:23Making her way to our stage from across the pond is Kiona.
26:26So, as you know from my introduction, I help teach kids at school that are special educational needs.
26:37Now, no matter what their struggles or difficulties are, I feel inspired by them every single day.
26:43And that, that truly is magical.
26:46But, because some of the students struggle to recognize numbers and colors, I created a game.
26:51A game where the students will hide numbered blocks, just like these, underneath colored cups.
26:56Just like these ones.
26:58And I attempt to match all of their choices, but without looking.
27:02So, it's a little bit like mind reading.
27:05The kids absolutely love it.
27:07Hopefully, you will too.
27:09But, the thing is, I've never taken on a fully grown adult before.
27:13So, Brooke, would you be my incredible helper tonight, please?

32:11How did you get interested in working with special needs children?
32:13Yeah, so for a casting website, I started talking to people and they said that they like quite a lot of actors because they're usually quite quick thinking on their feet so they can go in and help.
32:25And also, when I do the work, it's so rewarding seeing children that really struggle come through.
32:32And there are some schools I've worked at and then a year later I've come back and some students that are like five, six that couldn't talk now can talk.
32:40And they're starting to say a few words and they're like, hello.
32:43And it's like really exciting.
32:44So you bring them so much joy.
32:46Yeah, it's really nice.

33:09What's hard about a trick like this is that the way it's done is so new that we don't even have code words for it.

33:22You know, if you had something from 200 years ago, we could say all sorts of stuff to tell you those kinds of things.
33:28You know, we can get the word crimp and shell and everything else in there.
33:32But this stuff we don't have code words for.
33:34It's fairly new.
33:35And you concealed that so well by having props that are just simple and nothing could possibly be gimmicked about them.
33:45And the truth is, nothing is gimmicked about them.
33:49Those are just blocks.
