00:00Tonight, we're hearing from the mother of a man declared missing in Myrtle Beach.
00:10This is not like our son. He would not just disappear without a trace. He just wouldn't.
00:17Not knowing where her son is or if he's okay, she's living a mother's worst nightmare.
00:23I'm worried that he is hurt. It's the not knowing. It's the nightmare in all this.
00:30I'm worried that someone is hurting.
00:34I just beg the public to keep us in your prayers because, you know, God is the only one that's going to get us all through this.
00:47Every suspect accused of a crime has the right to remain silent.
00:51Many agree to be interrogated anyway, but they can stop the interview at any moment, making it a race against time.
01:01Justice hangs in the balance.
01:13Christopher Bowling's mother contacted the Myrtle Beach Police Department because even though he was 25 years old,
01:19Chris was the sort of person who got in touch with his mother fairly frequently, but he didn't make any contact for five or six days.
01:26He stopped showing up at work. It got to the point where several people were concerned.
01:31Chris's mom, she was just extremely emotional and convinced that something bad had happened to Chris.
01:40Shortly after police received the phone call, they checked local hospitals, no hits on the hospitals.
01:48They went to his apartment, knocked several times, no answer at the apartment.
01:52They had no leads. It's like he had just vanished.
01:55Marissa shared with us that Chris was from Tennessee but moved to Myrtle Beach
02:18because his son, who was two at the time, lived in Myrtle Beach and he wanted to be closer to his son.
02:27She told us that on July 28th, Chris was supposed to have their son and that she had not heard from him.
02:37She said that was very out of character and unlike him, that he was always reliable when it would come to meet him with his son.
02:47And she was extremely worried about Chris.
02:51There was no activity after the late evening of the 27th.
03:06We still weren't sure if there was some kind of foul play, but we all felt that something bad had happened to Chris.
03:15Chris was my best friend. He would even tell people, I'm a mama's boy, you know.
03:34He had a big heart. He loved his sisters.
03:39With the youngest one, when she was born, Chris called her his baby, and he was very protective of her.
03:49He was so special and so gifted.
03:54He became passionate in rapping at the age of 14, 15, some around in there.
04:01I mean, to hear him spit those lyrics out like he did, it's unreal.
04:06Chris had ambition, perseverance.
04:12As he got older, he was wanting to be a producer.
04:16He would make beats for other kids out there that wanted to go into that type of music.
04:24When he went missing, I felt like I'm in a nightmare and I'm never going to wake up.
04:29I keep looking at my phone, hoping that he would text or call.
04:38I was praying that Chris was alive.
04:40July 27th is not only the last day Christopher Sky Bowling was officially seen in Myrtle Beach,
04:58but it's also the last day Kelly similarly says she heard from her sons.
05:02We want answers. We want to know where our son is.
05:07We are speaking with Tyler Panzarella.
05:25How long have you known Chris?
05:29He advised that he did not know Chris very well, that he had met Chris through a mutual friend.
05:39And so his son and stuff was here, so he was asking me, he's like,
05:43hey, I want to come down to Myrtle Beach and everything.
05:47Could you help me out and let me stay with you?
05:48I'll pay you rent or whatever.
05:49And I was like, yeah, no problem.
05:51And then Tyler told us that Chris decided to come down here with his two friends from back home as well, Bailey and Nick.
05:58Once they arrived, Bailey and Nick also asked, hey, can we also stay with you for some time?
06:03And he agreed, yes, they all could stay there temporarily.
06:06Last time I heard from him, I think it was like the 26th, 27th, I believe it was.
06:13And then he just kept talking about, like, this girl he was talking about and going to, like, North Carolina with her.
06:18Who's the girl, do you know?
06:20I have no idea.
06:21I don't know the specific name.
06:23And then, like, didn't answer my phone calls or nothing, anything, nothing at all.
06:29Do you have Bailey and Nick's numbers?
06:32Yeah.
06:33Tyler said that after Chris went missing, Nick and Bailey had moved back to Tennessee.
06:39Tyler didn't seem nervous, but the information he was sharing that Chris would all of a sudden run off with a girl,
06:48as much as he cared about his son, it didn't make sense.
06:52There was a gut feeling that things weren't adding up and that something was wrong.
06:58Nick Henry said that he had not spoken to Chris since the end of July and that he had basically left Myrtle Beach to booth a girl.
07:19Again, it was just more of the same story that just didn't make any sense to us.
07:24Something just wasn't right.
07:24Detectives delved into his Snapchat, found a couple posts that he had made the day that he went missing.
07:46He had posted a full-body selfie where you could see what he was wearing.
07:50The shoes he was wearing were some blue Jordans.
07:53We learned that Chris was actually making plans to stay in Myrtle Beach.
07:58He was in the process of getting his own apartment.
08:02He had posted on social media on the 27th showing that apartment complex.
08:05That contradicted what we had learned from Tyler and Nick as far as him leaving town with a girl.
08:10We were very suspicious of Tyler.
08:36So we had a cadaver dog come and be on scene during the search warrant.
08:43The cadaver dog that was brought in actually alerted inside the apartment.
08:47Between the living room and the master bedroom, that was a location that Chris was known to sleep at.
08:53And when the dog got to the area, it positively alerted for human remains.
09:01Speaking to the people that, you know, are in charge of those dogs, they said it could have been something as simple as some kind of trace evidence or something being carried from clothing or from the shoes and that kind of stuff to the apartment.
09:14So at that point, we are transitioning from this missing person's case to now we're having direct evidence of a homicide occurring.
09:21Okay.
09:46Hey Tyler, how are you doing?
09:47Good.
09:47I'm Detective Eddie. This is Detective Whitmire.
09:49You mind if we're stepping in and talking to you?
09:52Our game plan was to start non-confrontational
09:57and kind of let him run the interview at that point.
10:04All you're signing for is that I read to your rights and you understand those rights.
10:07Then after we get his statement on video,
10:11we would start questioning the inconsistencies
10:14and make it more of an interrogation.
10:17What day was the last time you saw Chris?
10:20Like 6 or 27.
10:21So what was the circumstance around that?
10:24It was his mind. He said he was leaving.
10:26And Nick was like, oh, he's just going to go back here and spend the night.
10:29So, I mean, like, you guys inside when he's, like, packing up his stuff?
10:32Yeah, I was leaving because I went to go to my friend Devin's house on Caroline Forest.
10:36Anybody else go to you guys?
10:38Yeah, Nick and Bailey went on to meet at Devin's.
10:41Did you guys hang around until you saw him leave or you guys just dropped him off?
10:44Just dropped him off.
10:45Like, the back of the parking lot?
10:48That's when he was just gone.
10:51Now he's locked himself into the story.
10:53Then that's when we decided to transition to the interrogation,
10:56asking direct questions and being able to verify whether he's been caught in a lie.
11:01You know, originally we were kind of helping the missing persons division, okay?
11:13At this point, I mean, we think that something happened to Chris.
11:16And we're obviously talking to you because you're one of the last people that saw him, okay?
11:20This is the important part, okay?
11:22For you to basically be 100% truthful and just listen to him for a second, okay?
11:28To tell us everything you know, okay?
11:31Because we think something happened here, possibly an accident, okay?
11:34And we think you know something about it.
11:37We've been investigating for a long time.
11:51The Myrtle Beach Police Department has not not solved an investigation like this since 2000.
11:56Okay, 20 years.
11:57So, what do you think?
12:01What I was saying, that's not 100% truthful.
12:03You know what I mean?
12:04I haven't seen it since then.
12:06I'll tell you right now.
12:07I mean, when we came here and did the search warrant, we had a cadaver dog come.
12:11The dog alerted to a possible deceased person in your apartment.
12:16It's...
12:16Where did he alert?
12:18Or, like, where?
12:19Did it just, like, in general?
12:21Just, like...
12:23What I'm trying to do, I mean, I'm not playing games with you if you're...
12:25Yeah, I'm not either.
12:26I know, I'm just...
12:27I know, what I'm saying is, I'm trying to give you every opportunity to basically tell us anything additional you may have.
12:33We need to know now, because later on, when we put the puzzle together, which we're going to do,
12:38we're not going to have this conversation, if that makes sense.
12:42You can tell Tyler was getting a little nervous.
12:47It's at that point he realizes that his story's falling apart.
12:51So, he has an option.
12:53And the option is to change his story or tell the truth.
12:57Do you think that Nick or Bailey would be capable of doing something aggressive?
13:24Do you think that Nick's...
13:26I'm going to say Bailey?
13:28I mean, just from, like, the way Nick talks and carries himself, like, maybe?
13:35Nick scares me.
13:36Okay, if I can be really honest, like, truly, like, this was, like...
13:40It freaks me out.
13:41And so, like, he, like, said weird stuff about, or basically, like, that he might have done something.
13:49And that just scared the out of me.
13:50Like, I've never been around that.
13:51I've never, like, you know what I mean?
13:53What did he tell you?
13:54What was the road?
13:54What's that old haunted road?
13:56Like, on Lucas Bay Road?
13:58I never heard that story.
13:59It was, like, apparently a haunted road back there.
14:01He was saying he went there.
14:03And, like, did something, or whatever.
14:06Like, said he killed somebody.
14:07Mm-hmm.
14:07But, like, then that's when my gun went missing.
14:10But I don't know who it was.
14:11It scared me.
14:12Well, here in that story...
14:14Yeah.
14:15Do you think it could be Chris?
14:17I mean, now, yeah.
14:19Honestly.
14:19As Tyler is recounting that part of the story, I felt that he was telling partial truths, but we were trying to just not show any reaction, just keep him talking.
14:40If you're scared of Nick or Bailey or someone else, or, you know, the best thing you do if you want to help yourself out is tell the truth.
14:48So, did you see Chris dead at any point?
14:55Okay.
14:56Can you tell us what happened?
14:57Nick was telling me to go there.
15:00He thought we were just going to go do some, like, haunted stuff, or, like, by that road or whatever.
15:03So, like, we went there, and then, like, he had my gun or whatever, and then just, like, hit it.
15:10Like, it was shot.
15:16Ick shot Chris.
15:17How many times did you shoot him?
15:21Where?
15:22Then what happened?
15:23I was just shaking, scared.
15:26I don't know if he was going to shoot me or what.
15:29I don't know.
15:29I'm not a chronic.
15:30Like, this is, like, the scariest I've ever seen.
15:31I don't know.
15:32I completely understand.
15:33When he's talking about shaking and freaking out, he's showing no emotion at all.
15:40To me, his demeanor seemed like he's being dishonest, but we were extremely concerned with finding out where Chris was.
15:50So, we didn't want to press too much.
15:54So, you're out there on Lucas Road.
15:56Who's with you?
15:57You?
15:57Nick and Bailey.
15:58Nick and Bailey.
15:58Nick and Bailey.
15:59Okay.
15:59So, the four of you get out of the car, and what happens?
16:05No, we just walked into the woods, and we just shot him.
16:08What was the conversation before the gun went off?
16:11Nothing.
16:12We were just all walking through the woods.
16:14So, how did Nick get the gun?
16:15I mean, he just took it out of your car?
16:17Or who had the gun when you guys got out of the car?
16:19Because I was walking, and he told me to bring it or whatever.
16:23So, I was like, okay.
16:24And then he was like, hey, let me see it.
16:26And I was like, for what?
16:27He's like, I just want to shoot it or whatever.
16:28So, I was like, okay.
16:29And then I handed it to him.
16:32How far were they standing?
16:34I was like, something like that.
16:37Okay.
16:37So, six feet?
16:40You ever take?
16:42Arm extended?
16:43Or?
16:44Yeah.
16:44How?
16:45No, you can.
16:46You don't have anything you're in?
16:48Yeah.
16:48Okay.
16:48I could tell that he was reliving that moment.
16:57He appeared to be seeing Chris.
17:00He didn't see me standing there.
17:02And you could just see the blank look in his eyes.
17:07It seemed like he was the one that shot Chris.
17:10And he was trying to shift the focus to Nick.
17:15He seemed to be giving us all the facts of the case.
17:17He was just downplaying his involvement at that point.
17:21So, did Nick say anything right after Shaman?
17:24Nothing.
17:24He just was quiet.
17:25And then he just, like, he was like, take this.
17:28So, he gave you back the gun?
17:29Yeah.
17:29I didn't know what to do, so I just grabbed him and went to the car.
17:33He's telling us that Nick shoots somebody with his gun, with Tyler's gun, and then gives
17:39the gun back to him.
17:41At this point, you'd be able to point the gun at Nick if you wanted to.
17:44You'd be able to say, I'm leaving.
17:45I'm getting in my car.
17:46I'm not taking you with me.
17:47I'm going to the police.
17:48Just doesn't make sense.
17:49That moment, Tyler was the lead in the homicide investigation.
18:06At that point, we did not have any physical evidence, and we did not have a body.
18:15So, we charged him with obstruction of justice for impeding and hindering our missing person
18:23investigation.
18:24He's just going to pat down, man.
18:50You got a handcuff key on your thing?
18:52Yeah.
18:52You just want to get him out and take the shackles?
18:54Off.
18:57Swing your feet around, man.
18:58We're going to take these leg shackles off real fast.
19:04The entire time, he didn't put off an air of being scared.
19:11He was just cold and emotionless.
19:16It's kind of like saying that you're 1, 2 o'clock.
19:28I think that's about the spot then.
19:30You want to check it out.
19:32For me, in that moment, the lack of emotion just solidified that he was the one that shot Chris.
19:42Be careful where you're stepping up.
19:46There's a crime scene.
19:48Be careful where you're stepping up.
19:49There's a crime scene.
19:49Yeah.
19:50I'm going to stall over here.
19:52You remember what shoes he was wearing that night?
20:12You see, like, blue Jordans.
20:14Blue and white.
20:15Blue and white.
20:16Yeah.
20:17Blue and white.
20:18All right.
20:19All right.
20:20All right.
20:21All right.
20:22From where I'm standing, I can see shoes that appear to be the same shoes
20:27that Chris was wearing in the Snapchat from the night before he went missing.
20:33For me, that was probably one of the biggest moments of the case
20:36because at that point, you know that it's more than likely going to be Chris.
20:52I remember telling my husband, he's gone.
21:04He's gone.
21:06I didn't want to believe it.
21:09I would have died for him.
21:13He was my word.
21:22Once the body's found, we decided let's basically turn that heat up.
21:44We were trying to rattle Tyler.
21:47We're trying to get him to make a confession.
21:49As a law enforcement officer, you're actually allowed to lie in interviews.
21:53You just got to be careful as far as, you know, what you're lying about.
21:57I just talked to the guys in Tennessee.
21:59They're saying, some boys there are saying he's the guy.
22:06Sergeant Lent tells them that he just talked to Nick and Bailey
22:11and that they are saying that Tyler is the shooter.
22:16What he is saying is a lie.
22:20We had not spoken to Nick or Bailey.
22:23We wanted to see if he changed his story or what his reaction was.
22:27They're saying that you planned this.
22:30You drove him out there.
22:32You had the gun.
22:34Y'all walked out there.
22:35You gave the gun.
22:37You shot him.
22:37No, I never had a problem with Chris, nothing ever.
22:45I'm not like that, man.
22:46I don't, I came from a good family.
22:48I promise you, man.
22:49Like, I would never do that to someone, ever.
22:52They say you did it.
22:53No, I'm telling you, I'm a good person.
23:01I would, I would never, never in my entire life, ever.
23:04You saying he was a good guy?
23:06Why didn't you call 911 whenever you left there?
23:08You just left him out there to die.
23:09Because I was scared, man.
23:12I didn't know what to do.
23:14This is your chance?
23:15I mean, did, did you do it?
23:17No.
23:17You killed him.
23:18No.
23:19I'm being 100% honest on everything.
23:21No.
23:22I told you everything that happened.
23:24I was, no.
23:26So what, was it an accident?
23:27You shooting by accident?
23:28I never saw him.
23:29Or, or, or, or you're just a monster and just say, hey, I'm going to take you into the woods
23:33and blow your head off.
23:35Oh, man.
23:35Nick had the gun.
23:37It's, he's been, like, he, he scares me.
23:39He's been scared of me ever since, like, he got, like, that's the type of person he is.
23:43So for a normal person, if you are scared and you just saw somebody murder somebody,
23:49are you going to, one, take that gun back?
23:51And then if you're truly nervous, now you have the only weapon.
23:54So at that point, why not remove yourself from the situation?
23:57But he's doing everything that Nick tells him to do, even when Nick no longer has a gun,
24:00which is kind of strange.
24:02I'm sorry.
24:03No, I should have told you guys.
24:04I've never been around that.
24:06I've never been in that situation.
24:08You're surrounded by someone every day.
24:10You're going to get on each other's nerves.
24:11All right, Tyler, sit tight.
24:17We'll be right back again.
24:18Okay.
24:33All right, Tyler, this is Sergeant Lent.
24:35This is my Sergeant, okay?
24:35Sergeant Lent is more assertive, more direct.
24:42I've been sitting in another room listening to you, listening to everything you say.
24:46And all these guys have told me everything that's been going on for the last three or four weeks
24:50or whenever the hell this s*** started.
24:52All right?
24:53You're how old?
24:5423.
24:55What do you plan on doing with your life?
24:58Who's the best person I can be?
25:00Really?
25:01Where do you want to be that best person?
25:04Let me tell you right now.
25:06You're fixing to go to prison.
25:07Guess what's going to get done to Tyler?
25:10You're going from here, you're going to get charged with murder.
25:12You're going to be charged with killing Chris.
25:15Do you understand that?
25:16Look at me.
25:17Don't sit there and give me these crocodile tears.
25:21Tyler, don't sit here and bull s*** me.
25:25Tyler, you've played the game in here long enough.
25:42You're involved in some s*** that you would have never, ever, ever been done if you were a good person.
25:50Because you don't go out to Lucas Bay Lights and bring a gun into the woods at night if you ain't got something planned.
25:59So be honest.
26:01This story, to be able to tell this story shouldn't take you any more than five minutes from beginning to end.
26:07So that's what you think.
26:08You think I'm just that type of person.
26:10I don't know where you're going.
26:11Yeah, I think you're the kind of person that takes a friend out into the middle of the woods.
26:15For more representation, though, as well.
26:17From your own words!
26:19You took your gun out of the glove box.
26:21You can smile all the s*** you want, brother.
26:23I'm not smiling right now.
26:24You're smirking.
26:25I'm not smirking right now.
26:25You took your gun out of the s*** damn glove box.
26:28You say you handed it to another kid who then shot your buddy.
26:32And then you all just, s***, let's just go back in the car and go back to my apartment.
26:36It takes you a month to come forward and say,
26:39I didn't know what to do.
26:40No!
26:41You didn't know what to do.
26:42You're a good person.
26:43But good people, you know what they don't do?
26:45They don't leave a f***ing kid to lay out in the woods to get eaten by animals.
26:48That's what you did.
26:50You got him.
26:51Five minutes.
26:52Five minutes.
26:53You better call him.
26:57It may appear that he lost his patience and left the room, but that's by plan.
27:01Lent, the quote-unquote bad cop, then Detective DeWitt being the big cop.
27:06That was pretty much our strategy at that point.
27:08After Lent's no longer in the room, hopefully Tyler is now going to open up to the other
27:12detective that's in that room because he's being nice and reasonable.
27:15I want to talk to him.
27:19Is there anything else you can think of?
27:20Anything whatsoever?
27:24You know what happened.
27:25You know what the story is.
27:26You know where the body is and stuff like that.
27:29I made a mistake.
27:30Like, I should have came to you guys sooner and I should have.
27:32I just, I was, I didn't know what to do.
27:34I had no idea.
27:36But now I got to live with that.
27:39There's really nothing I can do to get away from this.
27:43No, I know that.
27:45I made a mistake, dude.
27:48Now I got to pay for that.
27:50He never came out and said he was the one who did it.
27:54But the interrogation of Tyler, it was critical.
27:57Because he put himself there, he was the only one who owned a gun.
28:03His story, it didn't make sense.
28:04It didn't all match up.
28:07What is important to consider in this case is that Nick and Bailey are from Tennessee.
28:14Meanwhile, Tyler is from around here.
28:16If any of them would be familiar with a local ghost story that is urban legend around here,
28:23it would certainly have been Tyler.
28:24Now, it was extremely important for the officers to talk to Nick and to talk to Bailey.
28:37For them to establish everything that happened during that shooting.
28:54Hey, how are you?
29:17Try to relax.
29:18Okay, we're just going to have a conversation, all right?
29:21Yeah, man.
29:24He was, like, very thrown off his game because he was obviously seeing us from Myrtle Beach
29:29in Horry County.
29:30I'm sure that heightened his senses and the fact where it's, like, he knows why we're there.
29:39Let's have a conversation and we'll kind of cross that bridge when we get to it, okay?
29:49All right, Nick, so keep it real with you, okay?
29:52Yeah.
29:52Obviously, we're from South Carolina.
29:55I work for Horry County.
29:56He was from Myrtle Beach.
29:58We've been working on the case for quite some time now, okay?
30:00And we have reason to believe that you are involved in that case, okay?
30:04So we're going to go back to the night or the July 27th, 2020.
30:08Yeah.
30:08Tell me about it.
30:09I don't want to say anything.
30:16Why?
30:20Take some deep breaths, man.
30:21Please.
30:21Please.
30:23And he told me he was, like, if you ever tell me, buddy, I'm going to give you a new grandpa.
30:32Please.
30:33I want to lay the hands of my grandpa.
30:37Please.
30:37Please.
30:37Please.
30:37Please.
30:38Please.
30:38Take some deep breaths, man.
31:04He was so emotional that he couldn't control himself.
31:16It was important to try to settle him, make him feel comfortable and relaxed.
31:24There are times where you need to be softer and coax the information that you are trying
31:33to learn.
31:35For the four days, please.
31:36Your side of the story.
31:37And we'll have a conversation.
31:38That's all we're going to do today, okay?
31:41So come ahead.
31:44Who's taking some time?
31:45Who's getting here?
31:46You're what?
31:48You're still on the roof.
31:52Please don't tell him.
31:53I told you.
31:58So, Kyle's in jail.
32:00So he's not a dirty man, okay?
32:02Okay.
32:02But unfortunately, he's got you wrapped up in this, okay?
32:07So we're just trying to see what you can provide to us as far as from your point of
32:10view, okay, to make sure we have the story here, okay?
32:14So that's what we're looking for from you.
32:19Okay, so we're in the car and we're driving.
32:25Who's there?
32:26Baby Skye's house.
32:28Whenever you say Skye, who's Skye?
32:30What's his real name?
32:33Chris.
32:35I guess Skye said something about his nephew or something like that and started making fun
32:40a lot of them and Tyler just looked at me like that was the last straw.
32:45They haven't really got along.
32:48What else can you tell me?
32:49We're just driving and driving and I didn't know where the hell we were going.
32:55He was talking about his nephew or something like that and he was talking about some haunted
32:59forest or haunted something and everybody was just freaked out and we started walking and
33:08he made sure he was behind us and we all got somewhere wherever he wanted us to go to.
33:16He told me to stay in specific spots and he just, oops, I was just, I was just, I was terrified.
33:27I didn't know if I was going to die too and yeah, it was just, I've never seen anything like that before and I didn't know what to do.
33:38So you, so you didn't touch the body at all?
33:40No, I promise I did.
33:42I swear to God.
33:43Just left him there.
33:47I was scared.
33:49He just popped him in front of me.
33:52One of the differences in the interview with Nick, as opposed to the interview with Tyler, Nick was very upset and showing fear, a lot of emotion.
34:10He just seems to be saying what he's feeling and exactly what he's trying to convey.
34:17He's actually scared of the whole situation compared to like where Tyler is very composed.
34:22When you see someone get extremely emotional in the face of an allegation of a crime, moving around and waving around.
34:52Usually they're being honest because they're worried and upset that you're going to believe false information.
35:00But with Nick, we thought to push him a little further and see if his emotions changed, if his demeanor changed and if anything in his story changed.
35:14And I have the proof that it was his gun, it was the first day I met him and he showed me that it was not me, I swear to God.
35:23That's all that familiar with right there.
35:37See that?
35:37Where is it?
35:38Yeah, you tell me what it is.
35:40What is that?
35:40You should have got a picture.
35:42Look at that.
35:43Look at it.
35:44Look at it.
35:46See that?
35:47Y'all did that.
35:48Did you do it?
35:49See that? Look at that.
35:51Who's that right there?
35:53Who's this right here?
35:55Look at it!
35:57Shit!
35:58Who did that?
36:14What are you gonna tell his kids, man?
36:18Huh?
36:19I didn't do it.
36:22Who was that right there?
36:26Look at it.
36:26That's God, but I didn't do it.
36:29I swear to God, I didn't do it.
36:31I did not want none of that to happen to him.
36:34I swear to God.
36:35I swear to God on everything, I promise.
36:37I swear to God.
36:38Like, I'm the one who took him down there to see his kid.
36:41And now he's dead.
36:43It's not my fault.
36:43He's dead.
36:47It's not my fault, bro.
36:48It's not my fault.
36:53Even under that extreme pressure, you know, he's still saying he didn't do it.
36:57It's not my fault.
36:58He's still naming Tyler the person that did it, so you're seeing him actually get frustrated,
37:04getting angry about the situation because he's being blamed in his mind for something that he didn't do.
37:08Did you talk to the plan with Tyler?
37:13No, Tyler.
37:14No, Tyler.
37:15Contrary to the plan that Tyler has for this whole situation?
37:17No.
37:18Neither did Bailey.
37:19What percent of responsibility do you think Tyler has for this?
37:24What happens?
37:25Zero, 100.
37:26Zero being the least, 100 being the worst.
37:28Like 100.
37:29He's the one who...
37:30Let me ask you this.
37:31Bailey, what percentage do you think he is for this?
37:35None.
37:36None.
37:37Zero.
37:38Zero percent?
37:39Yeah.
37:40And what percent do you think you are?
37:41Or like this?
37:42I couldn't say anything.
37:44I couldn't.
37:45Um, percentage-wise, do you think you have no responsibility for what happened?
37:50I mean, I couldn't help it, so like maybe like two or something, but I can't, I can't, I can't just stop that.
37:56Because he was going to do that to me too.
37:59Like, please, it wasn't me.
38:02Like, I swear to God, it wasn't me.
38:05Watching Nick, I think that his emotions were real in that aspect.
38:09Everything he said and the way he was reacting, I really believe that he was scared of Tyler at that point.
38:13What made it believable was the fact that Nick was not just scared for himself.
38:20He was scared for his grandfather and for his family.
38:23He seemed to get more emotional talking about that.
38:27All right, this is a voluntary statement.
38:29Everything you just told us, you'll be writing on paper.
38:32All right.
38:34Take your time.
38:43It's very important because Bailey hasn't had the finger point at him yet.
38:56So we wanted to really talk to Bailey because we figured that he'd be the most independent person.
39:00Is he going to say that it was Nick?
39:01Is he going to say that it was Tyler?
39:03Will need to subscribe to Chris.
39:17telling your left one.
39:21so here's the deal, Bailey.
39:26We ultimately know what happened to Chris.
39:28We know you were there.
39:29What we're looking for right now is to see howuto the control is.
39:32how long you're going to be with us because we don't need you getting in trouble just because
39:37your friends put you in a bad situation because nobody said you did anything but you were there
39:41what i need to know is did tyler shoot him or did nick shoot him who shot him who pulled out a gun
39:51tyler pulls out his gun and shoots who chris how many shots okay make any direct rights to you
39:59i mean he told me if something happened he'd know some other people we've spoken to said nick shot him
40:09no uh it wasn't now just because he's my friend don't mean i'm going to stand up for him because
40:15i don't control it either way um but it was solid would you be willing to take a photograph to show
40:22that you're not having frightening false information to us today all right sit tight for me all right
40:29after bailey's interview he wrote a written statement and then he also drew a sketch
40:39where the vehicle was parked and the way they were standing in the woods and it just
40:47strengthened our case and nick and bailey's version of events
40:59bailey gave police all the information that he was able to and he did not lie investigators
41:06determined that bailey's involvement in this case was mere presence and at that point he was allowed
41:12to leave the police department bailey was never charged with anything related to this case
41:17the interrogations were extremely important in this case the initial interrogation with tyler
41:29was obviously the huge turning point all three interrogations put together gave us that timeline
41:42of events and the details of what happened that evening
41:50normally you can kind of keep yourself detached from cases for some reason this case it was like chris
41:55didn't do anything to kind of bring this upon himself he's trying to go to work trying to be in his
42:00child's life we all really fought really hard to try to find the facts and the truth of what happened
42:05in this case to bring closure to his family
42:17so
42:35i want people to remember chris the way i remember chris the happy joyful witty charming kid that he was
42:51if i could say something to chris right now
42:53chris right now i would tell him that i loved him and hopefully one day i'll see him soon
