00:58for years you our viewers have been asking and we have listened we've hopped into the my lottery
01:04dream home time machine and traveled from city to city to give you a glimpse at what some of our
01:09winners are up to since moving into their homes we've also pulled back the curtain to give you
01:15a little taste of what it's like to film an episode of my lottery dream home let me tell you
01:20we've got
01:21a great lineup tonight for kimberly and steve making babies was just the beginning
01:32love is in the air for one of my favorite winners hi how are you
01:37while another one is feeling the love wherever she goes oh my gosh weren't you on hg tv
01:51we're kicking things off with kimberly and steve after scratching their way out of a one-bedroom
01:55apartment they were ready for their life to expand in more ways than one
02:05i'm kim and i'm steve and we're from abington massachusetts we were originally on season eight
02:11of my lottery dream home you ready i'm ready okay big energy yeah we were nervous first time on camera
02:21you know getting filmed hello hello he just comes like bursting in the door you know and gives you
02:29this big hug and i'm not a big hugger hi cutie how's it going good how are you you guys
02:35ready for
02:35this yeah and it was funny before filming i said okay i'm i'm nervous you're gonna do the talking and
02:41then once the cameras got on i wouldn't shut up so ah my newest winners how exciting very so who's
02:50the gambler that'd be me that'd be you how much money did you win uh so we won a million
02:54dollars
02:55congratulations and how did you win we scratch and my ticket was a 15 winner and i got so excited
03:01that's amazing i was like oh i won 15 dollars then he scratched his and he said oh my god
03:06i said you're joking whatever he's like we just won a million dollars and he's frozen like
03:12read like this oh yeah yeah like shaky a little bit steve's had this dream of winning a million
03:19dollars his whole life and so we go to cash it and he didn't have his social security card
03:24so he couldn't cash it so i got the glory of winning a million dollars because i have my social
03:31security card so on record kimberly won a million dollars and this has been his dream forever so
03:39it's the mass lottery website put your picture up there and it's just her
03:45so what are you guys looking for in the house we want some more space we're in a one bedroom
03:50apartment right now gotcha um have a big dog and so you need some space yeah a little yard oh
03:56yeah
03:56yard family down the road so we want a bigger place and here's a good opportunity family down
04:02the road are we trying hard sure i hope you're at least practicing oh yeah plenty of that yeah
04:14the first house david showed us was the hobart house oh my gosh i'm like so excited to show you
04:20come on in oh wow isn't this crazy oh it's huge so much space it's a giant we walked into

04:31house instantly like we could picture what we wanted there you know it's like oh yes we could
04:36have kids running around and there's plenty of space and room now compared to your apartment right
04:41now is your apartment as big as this room no it's it's definitely this size that's it the whole
04:47apartment the whole apartment and this is we're just getting started i know i mean can you imagine
04:52little kids yeah mommy mommy i'm hungry i love it right we weren't married but yet we knew we wanted
04:59a family but obviously we were nowhere near having a family yet i'll decorate for christmas yes exactly
05:07the tinsel everything yeah isn't this exciting very relax toning it down on the kids
05:13yeah but david was talking babies the entire time yeah all right so here is the kitchen oh wow
05:22i've always dreamt of being able to look out at the kids playing while you know you're doing dishes
05:26you need to get on this kid there yeah
05:32so it's cold out ever it's raining it's freezing freezing all right it's a little spitzy a little
05:38points out here we are semi-nervous still of course we go outside and somebody hands me an umbrella
05:46which i don't use umbrellas hold that up a little high there you go
05:51let's try that walk out one more time

06:16the next house david showed us was cedar hill it was a corner house so it had a really nice

06:24so we said oh this is a nice neighborhood for families hi hi thank you so much for watching
06:33appreciate you i'm hoping to win the lottery to have i'm hoping for you to win the lottery too but

06:38can't do anything about it have a good one all right let's check this baby out let's do it come

06:45in all right so obviously you have a stairwell right here but let's go into the formal living room
06:55okay what we found with this was you know all the rooms are kind of sectioned off we liked openness
07:00but we were okay with different rooms here we're walking into a great eat-in kitchen okay and then a
07:07really wonderful kitchen here as well wow i like this back splash i'd probably change yeah it's a
07:15little country yeah yeah countertops right i mean laminate is cute i don't know when though it was cute
07:24okay this is like the best tv watching sofa and area
07:31it's got a fireplace it's vaulted ceilings now we're feeling the elbow room in here
07:37oh definitely this is comfortable yeah not as big as yesterday's but still bigger than what we
07:41have right i mean anything's an improvement from a one-bedroom apartment right looking at these houses
07:47that i'd never seen anything like it because i'd only lived in the city i'd only lived in apartments
07:52in the city and looking at houses with two stories even that alone was a really neat thing take a
07:59look
08:01oh stop it yeah you're welcome oh my god how cute is this is that cool that is a pool

08:08excited very good we saw this huge deck you know and then you look out you see the pool it
08:15was awesome
08:16just a great open space we're at the low end of your budget 519 000 right this huge backyard oh

08:23is awesome and when the leaves go in even more privacy yeah yeah for sure
08:33the last house david showed us was billington view
08:37he's gonna walk in just uh from where they are perfect yep
08:47walking up it definitely looked like it had just been built never lived in
08:53what do you think of the house looks nice it's huge yeah looks big right yeah very big new
08:57construction it looks new construction but it's not it is almost 100 years old oh wow no kidding
09:03should we get out of the cold and into the fabulous yes please come on in oh my gosh oh
09:11wow
09:13crazy right yeah i love the openness you first walked in everything inside looked brand new everything
09:19was open concept and recessed lighting it was really exactly what we were asking for great kitchen
09:27here wonderful granite countertops great island oh yeah this is gorgeous much more modern than
09:33yesterday's yep you're not really caring that it's an old house it's just like oh everything's been
09:38redone it looks great
09:42so two-car garage which is wonderful and as you can see
09:46this is still under construction all of this will be cleared out obviously yeah so this is
09:51where your creativity can really come into bloom pool yeah decking all of that fun stuff huge space
09:56wow saw the potential but knew it would be a big project especially you know for to do a pool
10:02you know we were really pushing the budget of of what we were able to do
10:12chilling it is
10:15thank you my ladies it's happening yes you guys excited
10:22oh very ready for a new life yes pretty soon a little pitter patter of little feet
10:28oh look you got excited and now i got the eyebrow rig
10:32what did you do these last few days
10:36all right guys have you come to a unanimous decision or did someone have to kind of poke a
10:41little harder there's a little poking yeah it was difficult but i think we got there who's gonna tell me
10:45you can go ahead you've done all the talk we're going with cedar hill of course you are
10:56it was a nice big house big yard quiet street you know where everybody's out playing and having fun
11:03it just felt very family friendly how could you resist yeah that's what we want to do is raise a
11:09family so that's no better house to do it i don't think we lived the city life for a while
11:14we lived in this tiny little apartment but once we knew we wanted out it was like all right i
11:19knew
11:20for me anyway i knew exactly what i wanted and this is perfect cheers to you guys yay to a
11:26new life
11:30what a sweet couple okay i laid it on a little thick with the baby talk but they were perfect
11:36parent material stick around to see what kimberly and steve are up to because their story didn't stop
11:41at move-in day things look very different now i love hearing kimberly and steve's stories of our time
11:54together five years ago but i want to know more who says winning the lottery means putting up your feet
12:06are you gonna give wally a treat you're gonna give wally a treat here say wally
12:12a lot's happened in the last few years so we got married and knew we wanted to start a family
12:17and we got pregnant with twin girls identical twin girls so surprise big family quick
12:27oh good job honey big high five the house turned out to be perfect because well the yard steve's
12:37built a beautiful swing set playground area for them that they're on all the time
12:42summertime you get the pool spring fall you just have this deck like all the time just in the backyard
12:48hanging out and just a great open space inside the house we did a lot of house projects and the
12:56kitchen was the first one so i had never done kitchen cabinets before but here we are
13:04one of the things we thought we'd like is like a big open space what we found with this was
13:10you know
13:11all the rooms are kind of sectioned off and we're able to use them in different ways
13:16the living room was absolutely perfect to make into a playroom we had a designated space for our two
13:23and a half year old twin toddlers and a area living room for us to be able to chill out
13:29and watch tv in
13:30so we liked the different sections more than i thought we would it ended up being very ideal
13:36this house was better than i could have imagined
13:41as a kid i had an interest in birds and then when we moved out here our backyard allowed for
13:47the most amazing species of birds to come through because we were right by the woods and it became a
13:53hobby i started taking pictures of them i i watched closely i've got binoculars i'd walk in the woods and
14:00walk on the trails and look for different birds and yeah it grew an obsession
14:06birds never interested me i could care less birds were just birds you know so suddenly we have
14:13these feeders everywhere and spending a ton of money on bird seed and houses and everything else and
14:20luckily i think i'm easy going enough that it's just uh sure you know if that's what you want to
14:26do
14:26then we'll have birds i'm very lucky to have your support i became a frequent customer at wild birds
14:37unlimited hey guys good how are you good and not a year later the owners of that store sent an
14:47email
14:48out saying oh we're selling our store we're looking for somebody to take over our baby and we'd love if
14:54one of our customers did it and we had a meeting the next week we made an offer the week
14:58after
14:59we had a bird store three months later i'm gonna go catch up on some emails carry on
15:06working in the store now having conversations with customers that share a passion that you share it's
15:11unbelievable like it's the best feeling i'm really the most fortunate person alive not just for winning
15:18a million dollars but being able to do something that is so lovely and uh something i care about it
15:24marries my experience and skills with my interests it's unbelievably fortunate
15:33oh i see a bird good eyes winning the lottery changed our lives we bought a business with our
15:42weddings and i think my life would be radically different i was working in hotels i was working
15:4860 hours a week and we were living in a small apartment in boston and had we not won
15:54i mean we'd still be loving life in boston
16:04oh my god now that's some tea do you see his reaction about his life in boston
16:09priceless he's a great husband though and second bird watching that's a unique thing to do i guess
16:15when you have money anything is possible coming up i've got more inspiring women lined up for you
16:20and these three ladies know more about the inner workings of our show than anyone
16:31it's hard not to fall in love with all of the people who come on our show i mean we
16:35are catching
16:36them on one of the best days of their lives some people just stand out and that's what happened
16:41with marcy and her two daughters from cape cod massachusetts not only did we film with them thrice
16:48but one of marcy's daughters became part of our yummy crew
16:58all right
17:03david hi welcome hi how are you i'm terrific oh my gosh look at these beautiful girls these are my
17:10daughter's tori hey tori how are you good and this is ariel hey ariel oh my gosh you're like the
17:15little
17:15mermaid oh my gosh you're rich i am it was a scratcher and i actually didn't scratch it she did
17:21she scratches it off and she goes mom mom mom this says a million dollars i go no it does
17:29not give
17:29that to me are you so happy that she has money now too i guess her money is now your
17:35money hashtag
17:35because your daughters yeah this gorgeous family couldn't be closer they were literally living on
17:42top of each other in a one-bedroom apartment here's the king-size bed that i share with my 23
17:48-year-old
17:48daughter that's real fun and this is a very small bathroom for three women wow okay that's got to be
17:54a pain in the butt uh yep all right so i don't need to see any more okay these ladies
18:00needed an upgrade
18:01from shoebox to chateau so i showed them cranberry bog manor big in character oh i love the fireplace and
18:10i
18:10really love those feet aren't they great but not big enough small small smallish yes okay so no doors
18:20but oh small and the closet's in the hallway i know the kitchen's a little small i know mom you're
18:25just
18:25about to say this is not my dream kitchen um i had a feeling this wasn't going so well so
18:32how am i doing so
18:33far good oh that was eight okay all right in taken
18:42so i took them to see long pond estates more expensive but moving ready ready ready
18:50oh come on hey guys oh wow wow beautiful it's like all done it's all done yeah okay so here
18:58is our bedroom
18:59oh my goodness oh this is really pretty really really pretty it was pretty but not perfect
19:06was didn't he say there was another bathroom is there a bathroom behind this door no it was just
19:09one of the bathroom yeah all right never mind so we would have to share a bathroom again
19:13oh come on the least we could do is give marcy an ensuite so i braved the elements and finally
19:20found
19:20their dream home a fixer-upper with heaps of potential tradition's not going to be hard to find in this
19:26part of the oh it's really cold can we go now let's go let's please who said being on tv

19:35glamorous all right come on in oh wow wow beautiful it's feeling huge and really open all right as you
19:43can see the floors are in great condition huge area for a dining table it's a big deck there's a
19:49big
19:50deck out there big decks it's really good i love a big deck yes marcy and i were on the
19:56same page
19:57well most of the time oh look at the ceiling yeah oh please don't look at the ceiling that's really
20:02weird but it's really cute i think it's kind of cool you're changing that whether you like it or not
20:07okay let's go to the other bedroom i mean come on
20:14ceilings aside this house was perfect and what better way to celebrate their new home than on that
20:20big old deck these ladies do not dally within months they had this place looking super bougie
20:28we chose cottage cove because it is such a blank slate it had everything that we were looking for
20:34we decided we wanted the adventure of creating our own space david hated the ceilings not just
20:41hated loathed loathed them so sorry we're keeping them and we win we do we win you win marcy honestly
20:51the scalp popcorn ceiling kind of works with the bohemian vibe you got going on but in the end it
20:56didn't matter what the ceilings look like because cottage cove was just a stepping stone to her real
21:01dream home and dream man and later it was hot things get spicy as i help anisa the queen of
21:10ohio
21:11he was making me blush ears in the bedroom i'm getting to know who you are i know what you're
21:16about
21:17that was like that
21:24marcy ariel and tori were such a blast but this wasn't our final goodbye lady luck spun her wheel
21:30again and this time it wasn't a giant check but true love brought marcy back check this out
21:39morning morning coffee yes please okay will you get your sister okay when we moved into this place
21:46and we renovated it we thought it was going to be our forever home but it's really cool how as
21:52close
21:52as we've gotten life keeps moving life keeps changing so off to the next great adventure yeah
21:58yeah we'll see what the future brings yeah so in the last year and a half um i've had some
22:02um changes
22:03i reconnected with my high school boyfriend and we hadn't been together for 38 years and now we've
22:11reconnected and fell head over heels in love with each other again so we put the house on the market
22:16yep
22:17you heard it right my thoughts exactly you and i will have to get packed up it makes me a
22:24little sad
22:25that we put all this work into it but it's the next great adventure and bill and i are buying
22:32a house um off cape so david bromstead i'm on the hunt again when are you going to come out
22:39to
22:39massachusetts and help me find my next house
22:44by this stage marcy practically had me on speed dial and i was more than happy to help
22:50plus i really wanted to meet this bill guy and see if i approved hey how are you good to
22:57see you
22:58this is bill hi how are you oh my god what a cutie pie what are we looking for so
23:05definitely want
23:05something smaller okay no renovations no remodeling turnkey move in don't really care about style so
23:10much it's not really fussy but not fussy that's new for you it is new life new house new love

23:19you guys gonna get married no no that's perfect
23:25marcy and bill wanted their new life to be as easy as possible so i started with a brand new
23:31turnkey
23:32colonial so let me tell you about taunton river estate taunton taunton let me tell you a little
23:39bit about taunton river estate that good perfect all right you guys pronounce everything so wrong
23:46it's amazing okay oh beautiful great size living space okay and here we have beautiful kitchen yeah i
23:55the countertops oh and look a vodka refrigerator no that's a wine refrigerator oh no that's a vodka
24:01refrigerator there was a lot to love about that house but even though marcy said she wasn't fussy
24:08i knew she wanted something with a bit more character like me well that's a fabulous shirt
24:17wow look at this really tall ceilings i like the beams let's go to the kitchen i like the color
24:23of
24:23the countertops are really warm and yes i know it's a little small but i have to remember it's
24:27just going to be the two of us now so i have to learn who are you and what have
24:30you done with marcy
24:33i love this you good good all right let's check out the bedrooms absolutely cute little sign on the
24:40wall doors are off to the deck oh yeah i like that very nice it's beautiful and again i don't
24:45mind the
24:45cup yeah i don't think i would change those at all oh good yeah oh my okay okay before i
24:54call the
24:54paramedics i had one more house to show them and this three bed woodland retreat really fit the bill
25:02get it nice fireplace definitely ton of character let's look at the kitchen all right
25:09oh pretty white cabinets i like those are they nice yeah but for these lovebirds the primary suite
25:16was the clincher and here is our master bedroom oh with a king-size bed are you not a king
25:23-size
25:23person well i didn't get one in the cape house because i wasn't supposed to have one of these
25:28so i got just a queen-size bed and the boyfriend what's the boyfriend hold on again oh yeah it's
25:39that's from his coat oh that's from my scarf oh thank you three of you guys
25:47hey you never know don't worry everyone i didn't steal marcy's man but i did steal something
25:54her daughter dun dun dun over the years of working together marcy's daughter
26:01arielle took things one step further so i thought we'd give her a call so she can explain
26:08i'm like yeah yeah yeah show me your junk thank you guys ready so we have a little bit of
26:17a problem
26:18we're supposed to zoom with arielle oh but she can't make it oh that sucks um what should we do
26:28wait i know what we're gonna do tucker get over here get over here oh hell yeah get over here
26:35i'm
26:35saying all these things hi hi um we're supposed to interview arielle she couldn't make it she moved
26:42to remember she got married to her partner and then she moved to london london yeah are they still
26:47together they're still together and they had um a kid arielle and her mom and sister were on the show
26:53not once but twice arielle all of a sudden was at work so she was talking about like her career
26:59path
26:59and didn't know what she wanted to do and didn't know where she was going so i was like hey
27:04we're
27:04looking for people if you want to come work on the show so we started putting her in as like
27:09our field
27:09coordinator and so she moved to la and then started helping me prep all of the episodes how fun yeah
27:16and
27:16so she then all of a sudden became a part of our crew and part of like the whole family
27:20thing just
27:21sort of bled in like we are a circus we really are a circus i mean all of these guys
27:27have been here
27:27practically since season one everyone's been you know and to think that we've like invited our lottery
27:33winners to come work on the show it's like it's a great experience for all of us it's so much
27:38been a
27:38great run and it's thanks to all of our viewers at home for keeping us employed and you know it's
27:43thanks
27:43to the family that we work with that we get to do this every day i mean it would suck
27:46if we didn't
27:46like the people oh i don't like you and you no i'm serious but we i spend more time with
27:53these
27:54human beings than i do with my own friends or family so they become such an extension there's
27:59such a respect and an admiration that i have for all of these human beings here putting their lives
28:05not on hold but on an airplane all the time away from their family and friends yeah um but seriously
28:11david from me to you from the crew from all of us thank you for what you do thank you
28:16for keeping
28:16us gainfully employed thank you for all the effort you put into this and all the love and all all
28:21of
28:21you um um you're a dream to work with and i'm i'm excited that we got to show a little
28:27bit behind

28:33love this job it is hard you know the travel is the hardest part the connection with the people

30:04speaking of queens turns out i get a little spicy in the heat i can already feel it like i'm

30:29doing fantastic hey how are you good anissa and brandy yes you're my winner aren't you yes you are
30:37so it was a few weeks after the ticket hit and i was having dinner with some family and i
30:42got a phone
30:43call and it was hgtv and i thought it was a scam i said oh here we go somebody that
30:49wants money
30:50and wants reviewing it i said yeah this is this is for real you're stepping in brandy i am her
30:56sister-in-law
30:57her husband and my husband are brothers amazing i had never been on tv before like i said i work
31:03with my nerves are like i'm all nervous i was nervous but david helped me he just helped me push
31:08through oh my gosh how excited are you to be seeing me right now i am so excited i heard
31:15of the show
31:16i never watched it i didn't even know who david was how much money did you win a million dollars
31:22congratulations thank you my husband he stopped and he bought a scratch ticket and he gave it to me
31:27it was kind of like a gift i actually scratched it and i overlooked the million dollars what do you
31:32mean i do overlooked it so he looks at the ticket and he goes was you going to throw this
31:36ticket away
31:37and i said uh yeah why and he goes this is a million dollar winner so i looked at it
31:42and we
31:42was just ecstatic oh my gosh so you potentially almost threw away a million bucks yes
31:48yeah oh my gosh that would have been just terrible terrible yes wow tell me what kind of house we're
31:54looking for probably three bedrooms two full baths i was looking for something a little more modest
32:00not a big wish list she has a grandbaby that sleeps over quite a bit you're a grandmother i am
32:05oh my
32:06gosh how old is she she'll be six august she's a leo just like me see leo you are leo
32:14the lion
32:15him being a leo and i'm a gemini i'm like we're gonna get along
32:32so the first house we went to was cleveland cottage all right come on in ladies oh i love it
32:38oh beautiful
32:39look at the floors tons of character a lot of light in here this was real nice it was big
32:45but
32:45it was older it needed a lot of work the kitchen it was galley style it was small it was
32:53not really
32:53what i was looking for do you think this needs a little renovation definitely new cabinets definitely
33:00new cabinets is the one room in the house and the bathrooms as well that do need a little freshen
33:04up but we have two more floors upstairs to cover so let's go do that let's do it all right
33:10so come
33:10on in this with all the mirrors hey mirrors in the bedroom i'm getting to know who you are i

33:16you're about that was like that yeah david he is spicy he was making me blush come on up all
33:25right so
33:25there's the attic this would be a great space you could turn this into a big bedroom you do a
33:29lot of
33:29things you could turn a lot of potential the attic was like i bet it felt like 100 degrees we

33:35there dying filming in ohio in july it was it was hot yeah all right i'm sweating yep oh you're
33:44sweating
33:44too honey uh-huh you midwesterners are not used to the heat are you no
33:49no
33:55so the second house we saw was the rocky river bungalow as soon as i pulled up i i liked

34:03i hear you like the neighborhood yes and why is that because i live here you live here i know
34:10that's so fantastic i really like the property the house being close to brandy are you guys besties
34:16yes we are that's so fantastic i love that the brothers married two fabulous women who became
34:22best friends that's right lucky men oh they're they're the lucky ones hello and hello yes
34:27and it was so hot that day david was like come on let's get into this house come on in
34:36to the air conditioning
34:41i like it it's cute right it's cute and you can see they have a very large sectional here which
34:46shows that a big pieces of furniture can be in here come with it i think we can work it
34:50out
34:50you got the money honey i got the money honey yeah you do right
34:58we have a great deck here which is fantastic looks brand new
35:03so there's things that you don't see that's like behind the film
35:09stop and dressing me with your eyes rob it's really getting uncomfortable
35:15right here ladies because i always say if you can't see my butt you're in the wrong spot
35:36so the third house i looked at was brook park and you guys will be right here
35:42try not to see my camera brandy by day three you would think things would be easier so try not
35:48to
35:49just uh stay out of my camera
35:54come on in guys oh i like the floors i know go explore i know this is your thing beautiful

39:23i do he's a lot of fun he was a great guy wears all those cool clothes yes he does

39:29tattoos one thing that stuck out to me was my mailman the next day after the taping he said
39:37that is my wife's favorite show i have to tell my wife i dropped my mail off to your house
39:42and so now i see him out there all the time he's like hey
39:55this house is just perfect for me i got my own private bedroom and bathroom upstairs
40:02i have plenty of room i have an extra room i can either make it a guest room or i

40:09maybe a gym initially the kitchen was the big renovation but i'm gonna leave that alone for now
40:17and i think i'm gonna go ahead and remodel journey's room to fit her new preteen self

41:15friends with i hadn't seen them in over 20 years i guess all of our childhood friends we just kind

41:21no one forgot about each other but we split ways and had our babies and raised our families and things
41:27but just watching the show one evening and there she was and uh we've just been the best of friends
41:33like a day hadn't passed ever since being reunited with this group of friends has been the best thing
41:39ever it's we do everything together it wasn't for you david hosting anissa on my lottery dream home
41:46we would have never reconnected so thank you she would like to meet david bromstad that's what she would
