04:09Oh, you forget it
04:12Oh, hello, Austin, you beautiful people
04:24I'm very grateful to be on the stage
04:32This is a very legendary stage
04:33And, um, I am lucky to be here
04:36In a beautiful city
04:38We was bragging about investment
04:46She was talking about a Zen pic
04:48And the dinner had a guest list
04:50Guess it's hell on earth
04:52We told her she seemed unstable
04:54She got up and left the table
04:56Guess it's hard to find an angel
04:58When it's hell on earth
05:00Hell on earth
05:02Yeah!
05:08Sometimes it gets so hard to listen
05:11They sent foot back to the kitchen
05:13Said they wanted something different
05:15Could you get it much worse?
05:17Can't get dinner as a favor
05:19But it's feeling more like labor
05:21Cause I told them, see you later
05:23Gave them hell on earth
05:25Well, I tried my best tonight
05:30Don't know what for
05:33I'll click my heels three times

06:11I'm the child and my mother
06:13New England born and raised
06:15Where the common sense is coming
06:17As a nose job in L.A.

06:27I passed the welcome sign
06:31As a welcome sign

06:47When there's cocaine on the nose
06:49And they start asking who you know
06:51At the table grab my coat
06:53Let's get the goodbyes in the road
06:55It's where they wouldn't even notice
06:57If I'd never even show
06:59So, take me home

07:30I have a song of mine that I literally cannot remember the words
07:59there's too many and so I simply don't perform it but it's one of my favorite
08:06songs ever and so I have to write down you know I don't want I'd rather read it
08:14from a book I feel like that's more aesthetically cool than me like on my
08:19phone or something I don't know this feels cooler than a teleprompter so I
08:27wrote it or maybe I'll just tell you guys a little story or something I'll read

12:24I remember when the days were on
12:52Rolling climbers in the yard
12:57Kicking hands up to her favorite song
13:01All the boys were playing cards
13:05Always felt like something's missing
13:09Ever since she hung the lights
13:13Now it's one night stands and overthinking
13:17Just spend my nights
13:20Thinking about you
13:22You, you, in the moment
13:29Thinking about you, you, in the moment
13:38I remember when the nights were long
13:43Diving in first off the dock
13:47Now I wonder where the days have gone
13:51While laying bare eyes
13:54The sun was falling on the water
13:58She was staring out to see
14:02I said, I'm sure you'll find somebody stronger
14:06And I'm sure I'll always be
14:10Thinking about you, you, in the moment
14:18Thinking about you, you, in the moment

20:58Well, I miss Sally at a midnight dot bar.
21:24She don't dance, but she downs her drinks.
21:28I do a friend, she's a born-again wild card.
21:32She was telling me wild things.
21:36She was telling me wild things.
21:40I was down the street past the 7-Eleven.
21:44Just close enough that I spent the night.
21:48She grabbed my hand at the intersection.
21:52I spilled my guts at the red light.
21:56Sally, that feeling's coming around.
22:02Please don't go falling in love.
22:06And disappear when the wine comes out.
22:11Yeah.
22:12Sally, I'll buy a couple of rounds.
22:17Don't let me think I'm enough.
22:22And disappear when the wine comes out.
22:30Sally!
22:35Well, I open up while she's flipping through pages.
22:40I'm getting lonely as the days get dark.
22:44If you're bored and your mind starts changing.
22:48Maybe just give me a head to stop.
22:52I, I see the glass in their eyes.
22:58Just trying to keep it alive.
23:01Crying out loud.
23:02Hey!
23:04Sally!
23:04Sally, that feeling's coming around.
23:10Please don't go falling in love.
23:14And disappear when the wine comes out.
23:19Woo!
23:20Sally!
23:22I'll buy a couple of rounds.
23:26Don't let me think I'm enough.
23:28And disappear when the wine comes out.
23:34Oh, here we go again.
23:38I'm fine at first.
23:40Angle sits at the two-step.
23:42Sally makes my head hurt.
23:44But through the grapevine, she can be a diva.
23:48Go like Minnesota.
23:50I'm a little diva!
23:52Oh, here we go again.
23:54I'm on the red hair.
23:56Angle sits at the two-step.
23:58Sally makes my head hurt.
24:00But through the grapevine, she can be a diva.
24:04Go like Minnesota.
24:06I'm a little diva.
24:08Sally!
24:10That feeling's coming around.
24:14Please don't go falling in love.
24:18And disappear when the wine runs out.
24:23Yeah!
24:24Sally!
24:26I'll buy a couple of rounds.
24:29Don't let me think I'm enough.
24:33Don't let me think I'm enough.
24:33And disappear when the wine runs out.
24:39Woo!
24:40You said my journal probably looks like the same way as me writing a song.
25:02It's just a product of how I think and process things.
25:06And how I try to look back in a loving way.
25:09That's a pretty profound statement.
25:12I find it fascinating because it's such a positive, optimistic spin on what I feel like most of humanity wouldn't necessarily put a positive spin on.
25:28It would be more, let's just wallow in the feelings.
25:31I feel like I'm always on the edge of just slipping down that rabbit hole of just, like, one negative thought could just send me into this, like, spiral.
25:44And I feel like it's, I'm, like, I ride this fence and I put in so much effort every day to, like, not do that and to have a positive outlook.
25:57Like, um, because it's easy for me to just spin, like, that out of control and just think everything is going wrong or whatever.
26:08Um, and so I do, I do, like, put in effort and, like, I do journal.
26:13And when I journal, I'm, like, I hit the positive things, usually, to, I just, I don't, I think wallowing in something or, like, looking back in anger in any way is just, would, it just shoots me down a spiral that I don't need to go down any.
26:32Understood, I get that, for sure.
26:34Next, a newcomer with an old soul and ragged rock sensibility, M.J. Lenderman.
26:41Birds against a heavy wind
26:44That winds in the end
26:47One of these days
26:50With shorts full of sand
26:53One of these days
26:57You'll kill a man
26:59For asking a question
27:04You don't understand
27:07Some have passion
27:16While some have purpose
27:19You have sneaking backstage
27:23To hound the girls in the circus
27:27You've opened the Bible
27:45In a public place
27:48You've opened the Bible
27:53To the very first page
27:56And one of these days
28:00It will all end
28:03Your tired approach
28:07To original sin
28:10You've been betting on horses
28:36Name Johnny come lately
28:38You've been high on the hog
28:43And your dog seems to hate you
28:46You once was a baby
28:50And now a jerk
28:52Standing close to the fire
28:57And in fire works
29:00Once a perfect little baby
29:04Who's now a jerk
29:07Standing close to the fire
29:11And in fire works
29:17Of course
29:18Mamie
29:22A close horse
29:22And I can't leave
29:27And I can always
29:29Just hang on
29:29Grace
29:30And I can always
29:33achievement
29:35I can't wait
29:35I can't wait
29:36To ao
29:37Ben
29:38Tay
29:39And I can't wait
29:39No
29:39Game
29:39To
29:40To
29:41erve
29:41You can put your clothes back on
29:55She's leaving you
29:58No time to apologize
30:03For the things you do
30:07Go rent a Ferrari
30:12And sing the blues
30:17Believe that fact it was the second coming
30:24It falls apart
30:31But you've got work to do
30:34It gets dark
30:40We've all got work to do
30:43She's leaving
30:49She's leaving
30:58Yourself
31:05Vegas looks beautiful at night
31:10And it's not about the money
31:18You're just like the lights
31:21Though you know what is in part
31:28When your room is free
31:31You're feeling
31:36Oh yeah
31:38It falls apart
31:45We all got work to do
31:48It gets dark
31:54We all got work to do
31:57And she's leaving
32:03She's leaving
32:13She's leaving
32:15A πο própria
32:17You're right
32:19Yeah
32:21Yeah
32:22Yeah
32:23Maybe

32:32I guess
32:33It'll be
32:34It'll be
32:35It'll be
32:36It'll be
32:37It'll be
32:37It'll be
32:38It'll be
32:38You're

33:26We all got work to do
33:29She's leaving
33:38She's leaving
33:44She's leaving you

34:20We all got work to do
34:23So you say I've got a funny face
34:53Well, it makes me money
34:58So you say I've wasted my life away
35:10Well, I've got a beach home up in Buffalo
35:18And a wristwatch that's a compass and a cell phone
35:26And a wristwatch that tells me I'm all alone
35:36So you say I'm all alone
36:06I'd still take your amazing grace
36:13I'd give all my money
36:21And I'd still take your pretty face
36:33Cause I've got my houseboat docked at the hembo dock
36:41And a wristwatch that's a pocket knife and a megaphone
36:48And a wristwatch that tells me I'm all alone

39:04Distance grows the heart
39:11But I know
39:13Sometimes we just drift apart
39:20Everybody's walking in tombs
39:25Even Noah's heart
39:29It's a Sunday at the water park
39:38We sat
39:57Under a half-assed McDonald's flat
40:04Broken birds
40:08Tumble fast
40:11Past my window
40:13And you don't know
40:17The shape I'm in

41:09Be nice
41:10To me
41:15The clarinet
41:26Singing its lonesome dark wall
41:33Clare in the lid
41:43Singing its lonesome dark wall
41:50What else can you say
41:54To help a friend of a broken heart
41:59When you don't know
42:03The shape of it
42:08The dark wall
42:14The dark wall
42:18The dark wall
42:49Thank you, guys.
45:15OK.
51:17And, yeah, the way that society has progressed over the years and the world that I've grown up in is easy.
51:29I mean, it's hard to be optimistic about, you know, it's hard to be optimistic about where the world is headed, I guess.
51:36I think the guitar entered my life, and it's been something I've been doing, you know, it's been something I've been doing.
51:45You know, it's just kind of, you know, it was just kind of a part of my life, you know, it's just kind of, you know, it's just kind of a part of me ever since then.
51:55growing up we took them together so I always had somebody to play with and we
52:00were on this kind of journey together and and we had a drum set too so one of
52:09us would play drums and the other play guitar and we'd switch back and forth
52:13and so we learned you know how to make music together at a super young age we're
52:18really lucky for that
