00:14Congresswoman of the far-right, Maria Elvira Salazar, at the U.S. Congress as interfering.
00:20In Brazil, Federal Police arrested former President Jair Bolsonaro under preventive
00:28measures.
00:32And in Palestine authorities warned about the collapse of the healthcare system due to Israeli
00:40attacks on the gas strip.
00:46Hello, welcome to From the South, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Dele Su Studios in Havana,
00:54Cuba.
00:55We'll see you in the news.
01:04On Friday in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Javier Booth described
01:13the meeting with the Cuban-American Congresswoman of the far-right, Maria Elvira Salazar, at the
01:17U.S. Congress as interfering, although he downplayed the importance of the subcommittee that the
01:22presides over saying that it lacks relevance in the United States.
01:26He questioned the interference in Honduras' internal affairs.
01:30In a meeting convened by Ms. Salazar, not even representatives of President Donald Trump's
01:35government participated.
01:36Only private organizations and lobbyists attended, who were also questioned for representing private
01:42interests, and have confronted the government of Presidencio Maracaso for prioritizing the
01:46integrity and transparency of Honduras.
01:49The Bolivarian Armed Forces of Venezuela ratified the defense of national sovereignty in the face of threats
02:01and military deployment by the United States in the Caribbean.
02:03Defense minister by Padrino Lopez expressed his appreciation to musicians from different Venezuelan
02:09movements, who through rhythm and sound defend their sovereignty and represent the struggle of their ancestors.
02:13He affirmed that non-naval deployment or threats should stop the joy and enthusiasm of the Venezuelan
02:19people, who day after day are committed to their development.
02:23Daniel Lopez regretted that the government of Trinidad and Tobago is lending its territory for the destruction of sovereign peoples.
02:28There, the people of Trinidad are disgusted, completely disturbed, by the unplanned, completely deliberate
02:43military actions and exercises that threaten Venezuela.
02:47And when they threaten Venezuela, they are threatening an entire continent, I mean the South American continent,
02:54and the Caribbean, of course, and its people. So none of that is going to take away our peace.
03:05During his speech, Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez rejected the United States military maneuvers in
03:10areas of interest in Venezuela.
03:12We strongly reject maneuvers, exercises, and deployments in our nearby area of interest in Venezuela.
03:30We strongly reject it.
03:33Enough is enough with the threats.
03:37Enough is enough with the lies.
03:38The insults.
03:42Enough is enough with the imposition of power.
03:47Enough is enough with the manipulation.
03:50Just to preserve regional and local hegemony.
03:54For attempting to return to power by force in the global chaos.
03:59In which we find ourselves.
04:02And in the rise of a new world order.
04:04And through the Venezuela Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Nicholas Moreau thanked his
04:14Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, for his birthday wishes on his 62nd birthday.
04:19The Russian government expressed,
04:20Excellency, President,
04:22Dear friend, please accept our heartfelt congratulations on your birthday.
04:26I remember we warned for constructing some substantial negotiations that took place in Moscow in May.
04:31Without a doubt, we will continue our close cooperation in the interest of the strengthening
04:36the ongoing strategic partnership between Moscow and Caracas.
04:40Finally, President Putin highlights,
04:41I am confident that under your leadership the Bolivarian Republic will overcome all challenges with
04:46dignity and defend its legitimate interests in these turbulent times.
04:50I would like to reaffirm our unshakable solidarity with the friendly people of Venezuela.
05:01Likewise, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko congratulated President Maduro on his birthday.
05:06The Belarusian government expressed,
05:07Your Excellency, I would like to offer you my sincere congratulations on the occasion of your birthday.
05:13Your political wisdom, great patriotism, and unwavering loyalty to the Venezuelan people
05:17have shaped your life's journey as a fighter for freedom and sovereignty.
05:21From the Lukashenko referred,
05:22I am convinced that the heroic past and the strength of the spirit of the loyal sons and daughters of Bolivarian
05:28Venezuela will guarantee the state's unshakable stability in the face of numerous threats.
05:32And that the consistent development of the Belarusian Venezuelan strategic alliance between our peoples
05:40will contribute to the peace and prosperity of both countries.
05:43The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, joins the congratulations on the 62nd birthday of President
05:54Nicolás Maduro. In addition to the Venezuelan President, Díaz-Canel expressed,
05:58Dear brother Nicolás, receive the warmest birthday wishes and the hope that this will be a happy day
06:05with Celia, your children and grandchildren. President Díaz-Canel concluded,
06:09I reiterate our determination to continue strengthening the bonds of friendship and
06:13solidarity that unite our peoples. We are convinced that the brave and heroic
06:17Venezuelan people will emerge victorious in the face of new imperialist threats.
06:27Now topics in the United States. A Republican congresswoman announced her resignation from the
06:31National Congress following a political break with President Donald Trump. Congresswoman Marjorie
06:35Taylor said she was unable to fit in with Donald Trump's administration and was rejected by the
06:40political elite at her arrival in Congress. She also said she will be leaving her seat in the House
06:45of Representatives in January 2025. Her resignation comes after a month of public tensions with the U.S.
06:50President, whom she criticized for his handling of documents related to the Epstein case.
06:54I'll be resigning from office with my last day being January 5th, 2026. And I look forward to seeing
07:06many of you again sometime in the future. May God bless you all and may God bless America.
07:12I'll be resigning from office with my last day being January 5th, 2026.
07:18We now have a first break coming up. Remember to join us on TikTok at Telesur English.
07:22We will find news in different formats, news updates and much more. We will be right back. Stay with us.
07:42Welcome back. Brazilian Federal Police arrested former President Jair Bolsonaro under preventive
07:51measures ordered by the country's Federal Supreme Court. On Saturday, officials arrived at Bolsonaro's
07:56home in Brasilia to carry out the due process of transferring him to police headquarters. Though it
08:01is reported that the measure was taken with the aim of maintaining public order and security in the
08:06country. Since August, the far-right leader had been under house arrest at his residence for failing to
08:12comply with the precautionary measures established in the case.
08:22And Ecuador faces its most violent year on record with more than 7,550 intentional
08:28homicides between January and October 2025. According to reports, the figure reflects the security crisis
08:34in the country, which exceeds the numbers from 2024. As a result, analysts project that by the end of the
08:40year, there will be a total of 9,000 mortars. Among the cities with the highest levels of violence are Guayas,
08:46with 3,422 mortars, and Manabi, with 1,000 victims. In this regard, authorities maintain that a large part of
08:53the crimes are linked to gangs that operate in key areas for the export of drugs to international markets.
08:58And on Friday, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel hosted UN Special Rapporteur Alina Duhan at the Palace of the
09:11Revolution in Havana. During the meeting, the President discussed how US imposed sanctions have
09:16affected the lives of all Cubans. The official task with evaluating the negative effects of unilateral
09:21coercive measures received a detailed report from the Cuban President, who highlighted not only the intensification of the blockade, but also the
09:27fraudulent inclusion of Cuba, on the US list of state sponsors of terrorism. During the meeting, which also included Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez and other government officials,
09:38the President discussed the economic and social damage caused by these measures, emphasizing the
09:44difficulties faced during the recovery efforts in eastern Cuba after Hurricane Melissa, as well as the
09:49illegality of the list drawn up by the White House.
10:00I insist on using the term intensification because it truly describes the nature of the blockade at this time, and it has a lot to do with the measures
10:08Trump implemented during his first administration to intensify it, as well as with Cuba's inclusion on the list of countries that
10:15supposedly support terrorism. The whole idea of the list is completely incoherent, not to mention false,
10:21but it is incoherent, even within US foreign policy itself. Let me tell you something
10:26Trump included us on the terrorist list during his first administration, Biden kept us there, and at the
10:31end of his term, he removed us. But when Trump took office again, within days, we were back on the list.
10:38It's hard to understand how the criteria for including a country on a list that is supposed to be as serious
10:43as this one for the United States, can change so quickly, but the reality is that being on that list
10:49is a tremendous blow to the aspirations of the Cuban people.
11:08Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel during his visit to the province of Holguín supervised the recovery
11:13efforts and preventive measures caused by Hurricane Melissa. The President spoke with the President
11:18residents of Cuero and Sahua del Tánamo, two municipalities that suffered severe flooding due
11:23to the overflow of rivers. In turn, thousands of homes have been affected in the area, while electricity
11:28and communication services have almost fully recovered. Diaz-Canel also instructed to find a definitive
11:34solution to the water supply and to reinforce the epidemiological surveillance to prevent diseases
11:39such as dengue fever. Similarly, the Cuban President emphasized that the population of Holguín is not
11:44alone and that the revolution is advancing in its battle to address the situation.
11:56Donations are arriving from international organizations and friendly countries.
12:01Many people have also made collections and there is a group of donations that the state is distributing.
12:07It is not possible to distribute everything at once, but little by little. And above all,
12:16there is solidarity among everyone. And we want to recognize you for the way the population behave.
12:22If you had not followed the guidelines given by the Zone Defense Council, today we would be
12:26mourning the loss of lives. But thanks to that, we did not have to. We are now back here.
12:31Also in Cuba, Venezuelan brigades are moving forward with recovery efforts to counter the damage caused
12:40by Hurricane Melissa in the east of the country and action on solidarity with Albatisipi countries.
12:46On Saturday, specialists continue their tour of the eastern region to repair affected infrastructure
12:51and inspect key production areas, while government structures and the country's political leadership
12:55assess the impact. In recent weeks, Venezuela has sent tons of solidarity aid and medical
13:01assistance to meet the needs of those affected.
13:13And France is an orange alert, the second highest level due to snowfall and the formation of black
13:19ice feared by drivers and pedestrians alike. Thermometers will show freezing temperatures with
13:23the alert in effect from 8 pm local time in an episode that is to unusual for November,
13:28one month before the official start of winter. The Meteo France Agency warned that rain coming from
13:34Brittany will turn to snow at nightfall in the Paris region, although it is not yet possible to
13:38protect the magnitude of the phenomenon.

13:58And final break, don't go away.
14:12Welcome back. Palestine authorities warned about the collapse of the healthcare system due to
14:31Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip. Health authorities warned of a serious shortage of vital supplies,
14:36including medicines. They say that Palestinians are dying while waiting for treatment, as hospitals do
14:41not have the resources to treat different diseases. Though it has also highlighted the lack of a constant
14:46supply of fuel to keep the power plants of healthcare facilities running.
14:56On Friday, the United Nations Children's Fund reported that since the ceasefire in Gaza came into effect,
15:01Israel has killed at least 67 Palestinian children. According to the report presented by the organization's
15:07spokesperson, Ricardo Pires, among the victims is a baby girl who was killed during an airstrike
15:12against Han Yunus in the south of the Strip this Thursday. Pires described the pattern of executions
15:17by the genocidal regime as shocking and stated that since October 2023, more than 20,000 children have
15:23been killed or injured in the Palestinian enclave. UNICEF has also reaffirmed its rejection of the use of
15:28hunger as a weapon of war and points out the devastating effect that Israel's attacks has had
15:34on Palestinian childhood.
15:42In Palestine, a third intifada could erupt in occupied West Bank in response to the escalation
15:47of Israeli violence. The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine denounced that the increase in
15:51violence by Israelis, acts of vandalism and attacks on Palestinian civilians revealed a deeply entrenched
15:58fascist, fascist, and racist doctrine among settler gangs. Additionally, the international community
16:03condemned the illegal Israeli settlements. It is important to note that the Sudanese regime has
16:08intensified violence in the West Bank since October 7, 2023, when it launched a Genocidal War against Gaza.
16:15Since then, Israeli forces and settlers have murdered hundreds of Palestinians in the occupied territory.
16:21In Italy, thousands of people took to the streets to protest against Israeli crimes in the Gaza Strip.
16:32The protests marched through several streets in the city of Polonia with Palestinian flags and slogans in
16:37defense of the Palestinian people. In turn, police forces repressed the mobilization with water cannons
16:43fired at the protesters. The objective of the participants is to condemn the Sudanese massacres in Gaza,
16:49when more than 67,000 Palestinians were killed.
16:59In our news in Spain, family members of deceased residents protested to demand truth, justice,
17:05and the resignation of the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, for her management
17:10of nursing homes during the pandemic. Healthcare associations and social movements marched through
17:15several streets in central Madrid to the government headquarters to denounce the non-referral protocols
17:21applied by Díaz Ayuso's administration in 2020. The measures consisted of prohibiting the transfer to
17:27hospitals of thousands of elderly people with dependency or cognitive impairment. According to the figures,
17:33at least 7,290 residents died without being transferred.
17:44Also in Spain, dozens of people mobilized in Badalona municipality in protest against eviction threats
17:49and institutional racism. Demonstrators condemned the eviction of a building that houses more than 400
17:55homeless people. Foreigners reported that every week one or two families are thrown out onto the streets
18:01in addition to suffering racism from authorities. In recent days, the government of Badalona
18:07intensified its forced eviction policies in the town, affecting dozens of migrant families.
18:18And the G20 summit opened on Saturday in South Africa with an ambitious agenda to make progress on
18:24solving some of the long-standing problems that have afflicted the world's poorest nations.
18:28The event was presided over by South African President Silvio Ramaphosa, in which he declared that the
18:34desire for development in the Global South and on the African continent will be reflected in the agenda of
18:39this major forum. This edition has a special focus on climate change mitigation and its impact on other
18:46nations, continuing the stance defended by South African Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment,
18:51Leon George, at COP30 in Brazil. The main challenge this year is the boycott by the United States on the grounds that
18:57South Africa is applying racist policies against whites and persecuting its white African minority.
