00:21In Honduras, the electoral crisis has worsened after two members of the electoral body suspended the plenary session schedule for Saturday.
00:37And the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions reported financial losses exceeding $9 billion
00:44and unprecedented unemployment rates since October 2023 due to the Israeli offensive.
00:51Hello and welcome to From the South. I'm Alejandra Garcia from Telesur Studios in Havana, Cuba.
01:01We begin with the news.
01:15Venezuela denounces the seizure of a second vessel loaded with Venezuelan oil in the Caribbean Sea
01:21carried out by the United States as part of its escalating imperial aggressions in the region.
01:26The Venezuelan government has denounced that this military assault carried out by U.S. forces constitutes an act of international piracy,
01:34which will continue to be reported before all existing international bodies,
01:39reiterating that the state will defend with absolute determination Venezuela's sovereignty,
01:44its national resources, and its national dignity.
01:46Amid these aggressions, the Venezuelan people have taken to the streets en masse
01:51to reject any foreign claim over national resources
01:55and to support the principle of sovereignty over the country's strategic wealth.
02:01This crime occurs days after Washington arbitrarily announced a criminal blockade
02:05aimed at limiting Venezuela's capacity to trade,
02:08and it forms part of a series of imperialist aggressions that seek to undermine Venezuela's right to peace.
02:21Precisely, through an official communique,
02:23the Venezuelan government categorically denounces and rejects the theft and hijacking
02:28of a new private vessel carrying Venezuelan oil,
02:31as well as the forced disappearance of its crew committed by military personnel of the United States of America
02:37in international waters.
02:39In this regard, Caracas denounced this serious act of piracy
02:43constitutes a flagrant violation of the crime provided for
02:46in the 1988 Convention for the suppression of unlawful acts
02:51against the safety of maritime navigation,
02:54as well as gross violation of the Charter of the United Nations,
02:58the Geneva Convention on the High Seas,
03:00and the Declaration on Principles of International Law
03:03concerning friendly relations and cooperation among states,
03:08among other applicable norms of international law.
03:11In the statement, Venezuela condemned
03:13the colonialist model that the United States government seeks to impose
03:17as through these types of practices
03:18will fail and be defeated by the Venezuelan people.
03:23Venezuela, in this context, will continue to move forward
03:25with its economic growth
03:26based on its forting in genes
03:29and the development of its hydrocarbon industry
03:31in an independent and sovereign manner.
03:34In its closing remarks,
03:35the Bolivarian government assure
03:36that these acts that will not go unpunished,
03:40vowing to take all appropriate action,
03:42including reporting them
03:44to the United Nations Security Council,
03:47other multilateral organizations
03:49and the governments of the world,
03:51and also assuring that international law will prevail
03:54and those responsible for these serious acts
03:56that will answer to justice for history
03:59and for their criminal conduct.
04:01And expressions of solidarity with Venezuela
04:10in response to this new attack of piracy,
04:13action of piracy by the U.S. government,
04:15have poured in.
04:17Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel
04:19took to his social networks
04:20to denounce the theft,
04:22assuring that the new act of piracy
04:24and maritime terrorism in Caribbean waters
04:26by U.S. forces is a serious violation
04:29of international law
04:30and deserves total global condemnation,
04:33stressing that these threats
04:34to regional peace must be stopped.
04:36And in this regional scenario,
04:43the leader of and also coordinator
04:45of the Brazilian landless rural workers movement,
04:48MST, Joao Pedro Estadile,
04:50warned of the imperialist objectives
04:52the U.S. government chases
04:54with its escalating aggressions against Venezuela.
04:57In a recent interview,
04:58the MST leader assured
04:59that Washington has revived
05:01the Monroe Doctrine
05:03and designed a strategy
05:04to dominate the continent,
05:07assuring that for 60 years,
05:09the U.S. government
05:10has been suffocating the Cuban people
05:12and has been trying to suffocate
05:15the Bolivarian process in Venezuela
05:17with the clear objectives
05:19of maintaining servile governments
05:21in Latin America
05:22and controlling its natural resources.
05:25In this regard,
05:26Stadile highlighted
05:27how despite all of this,
05:29Venezuela did not give in
05:31there is a strong alliance
05:32between the organized people,
05:34the government
05:34and the Bolivarian armed forces
05:36as triad that govern
05:39and prove strong enough
05:41to resist constant imperialist attacks.
05:43The Brazilian activist
05:44went on to condemn
05:46how the most recent tactic
05:48is institutionalized piracy
05:50with the U.S. government
05:52stealing Venezuelan oil tankers,
05:54calling it a disgrace
05:55done under the nose
05:57of the United Nations,
05:58which did absolutely nothing.
06:01In this context,
06:02Stadile stressed
06:03that the fight against
06:04drug trafficking in the Caribbean
06:05is the new lie
06:06that the U.S. government
06:07is creating to steal oil
06:09and underscored
06:11that it is the duty
06:13of all democratic sectors
06:15in Latin America
06:15to defend the Venezuelan people
06:17from these attacks
06:19and to contain Mr. Trump.
06:20More in this scenario,
06:27Venezuelan foreign minister
06:28Iván Gil informed
06:29on Saturday
06:30he received a phone call
06:31from his Iranian counterpart,
06:33Abbas Aragishi.
06:34Through his social media accounts,
06:36the Venezuelan diplomat stated,
06:38we reviewed the state
06:40of our bilateral relations
06:41within the framework
06:42of our strategic agreement.
06:45He added,
06:45we also analyzed recent events
06:47in the Caribbean,
06:48especially the threats
06:49asked of piracy
06:51by the United States
06:52and the theft
06:52of ships loaded
06:54with Venezuelan oil.
06:55In addition,
06:56he described
06:57and assured
06:58that Venezuela
06:59had received
06:59a full display
07:00of solidarity
07:01from the government
07:02of the Islamic Republic of Iran
07:04as well as its offer
07:06of cooperation
07:07in all areas
07:08to confront
07:09the piracy
07:09and international terrorism
07:10that the United States
07:11seeks to impose
07:13through military force
07:14in violation
07:15of the United Nations
07:16Charter
07:16and international law.
07:23And now we have
07:24a short break coming up.

07:32Stay with us.
07:53Welcome back
07:54to From the South.
07:55We go to Honduras
07:56where the electoral crisis
07:57has worsened
07:58in recent hours
07:59after two members
08:00of the electoral body
08:01suspended the plenary session
08:02scheduled for this Saturday.
08:04Consulor Marlon Ochoa
08:06reported
08:06that Ana Paula Hall,
08:07president of the National Electoral Council,
08:10and Cosette Lopez
08:11unilaterally suspended
08:13the plenary session
08:14of the body
08:15scheduled for 7 p.m.
08:16local time
08:17without any explanation.
08:19Furthermore,
08:20the European Union
08:21Electoral Mission
08:22denounced
08:22an intentional paralysis
08:24of the vote counting process,
08:25while the verification boards
08:27of the Libre Party
08:28and the Liberal Party
08:29raised alarms
08:30about the threats
08:31from military personnel
08:32preventing them
08:33from carrying out
08:34their duties.
08:35In this regard,
08:36Consulor Marlon Ochoa
08:37has called the process
08:38as the dirtiest
08:39in the country's history.
08:46Of the 2792 polling stations
08:53that present inconsistencies
08:55in the records,
08:56there are 691
09:03that could be corrected
09:04within the database
09:06without being submitted
09:07to special scrutiny.
09:13And well,
09:15what is becoming evident
09:16is that they want
09:17to send us
09:17the number of polling stations
09:19that have to be sent
09:20for special scrutiny
09:21for having failed
09:22to comply
09:23with the validation rules
09:24in the TREP.
09:31Here we are only talking
09:33about 2792 voting boards
09:35out of the 19,167 boards.
09:39That,
09:40as I have previously stated,
09:42must be counted
09:43vote by vote.
09:50My position,
09:52which I have made public
09:53on several occasions,
09:55is that in order
09:56to verify
09:56the sovereign will
09:57of the people,
09:58the plenary session
09:59of the National Electoral Council
10:01must refer the 19,167 polling stations
10:06to special scrutiny.
10:13This is the least transparent
10:14and most dishonest election
10:16in history.
10:17And in other news,
10:23we go to Argentina,
10:24where supporters
10:25of former President
10:26Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner
10:28gathered outside
10:29the Buenos Aires hospital
10:30where she recently
10:31had a medical procedure.
10:33Fernandez de Kirchner,
10:34who is currently
10:34serving jail time
10:35under house arrest,
10:37was transferred
10:38with judicial authorization
10:39to the Otamendi hospital
10:41on Saturday
10:42after complaining
10:44of abdominal pain.
10:45House authorities
10:46at the institution
10:47reported
10:47she underwent
10:48laparoscopic surgery,
10:50which confirmed
10:51the diagnosis
10:52of appendicitis
10:53with localized peritonitis,
10:56adding that
10:57she was recovering
10:58without postoperative complications.
11:00In this context,
11:02hundreds of peronist leaders
11:03and militants
11:04traveled to the site,
11:06setting up a vigil
11:07to support
11:08the former president
11:09as she goes
11:09through the recovery process.
11:18She's my global leader.
11:19She's my president.
11:20She's the president
11:20of the Justicial Party
11:22and she's the president
11:23I hope will be in office
11:24in 2027.
11:25She's the only one
11:26with the ability
11:27to get us out
11:28of the mess we're in.
11:29The one this unacceptable
11:30person, Millay,
11:31put us in,
11:31who does not represent me
11:33in the slightest,
11:34neither he nor any
11:35of his people
11:35and who makes me feel
11:36ashamed on a global level.
11:39I came mainly
11:40because I believe,
11:41and this is how
11:42I rid the situation,
11:43that I cannot live
11:44in a country
11:44that exists only
11:45for a few,
11:46a country that works
11:47for a small group inside
11:49and leaves the majority outside.
11:51And I believe
11:51that Cristina represents
11:53and gives concrete form
11:54to a model
11:54and a doctrinal renewal
11:56of peronism
11:56for a country
11:57that includes everyone,
11:58a country that grows
11:59with social inclusion
12:00and that moves forward
12:02through the progress
12:03of each individual.

18:39They explained
18:40that the organization
18:41refers to the genocide
18:42of 71,000 Palestinians
18:44as what some groups
18:45insider consider genocide,
18:49thus minimizing Israel's war crimes.
18:51employees asserted
18:52that the organization
18:53attempts to avoid
18:54any criticisms
18:55of the Zionist regime
18:57in Israel
18:57in order to lose

19:10and two are still missing
19:11after a house collapsed
19:13in the Sheikh Radwan
19:15neighborhood
19:15of Gaza City.
19:16According to medical sources,
19:18the collapse was caused
19:19by structural damage
19:20resulting from ongoing
19:21Israeli shelling
19:22which caused the building
19:24to crumble
19:24on its residents.
19:26Dozens of homes

19:43to leave their damaged homes
19:45citing the weather conditions
19:46and the growing hardships
19:48caused by the ongoing
19:49stress and severe weather
19:51which have affected
19:52thousands of homes
19:53across the Gaza Strip.
