00:00Cards for Good Causes started in 1959 when the major charities got together and realised that the best way of selling their Christmas cards was to join together. So they joined together to form the Cards for Good Causes group. And if you have a look round you'll see the various charities that are involved in this. But there are still some main charities and we do sell cards for the 1959 group.
00:26It actually started here in Peoplesfield independently. It was run by Petersfield residents back in 1969. And after running for several years it just became a little unwieldy. So they reached out and spoke to Cards for Good Causes and then became part of the Cards for Good Causes effort. And it's been running well ever since.
00:47So the last few years fortunately we've been able to be in the library. We've been fantastic hosts.
00:51And we are, Leslie and I manage it so we're always in. But we have a team of about 14, 15 volunteers who kindly give up their time to help. 49 different charities this year. Each charity has about 4 or 5 different cards. Some cards are blank so people want to write messages in.
01:14Also lots of gifts, gift wrap, gift tags. Basically it's an all in one Christmas card store. Plus it's fun. It wants to be the happiest shop in town.
