00:00So Davey, I mean, how does it feel to be back in the Isle of Man?
00:03Oh, it's always lovely and it's always home, isn't it? Yeah, no, it's brilliant.
00:07I mean, growing up in Port St. Mary and then, am I correct in saying that you live in Chicago now?
00:12Chicago, Illinois?
00:13Yes, yeah.
00:14What's the difference between that? I mean, it might be obvious, but what is the difference?
00:19Well, it's a lot windier in Port St. Mary.
00:22No, you know, there's so many differences and that's all right, you know.
00:27It's nice to kind of get a little dose of both.
00:30And I have a young family. I've got three little girls and they're over with my wife and I.
00:35And it's just wonderful to show it off and show them something different.
00:38That's also a part of their identity, right?
00:40We've changed from Lifetime Achievement and now, rightfully so, Global Ambassador for the Isle of Man.
00:47How do you feel?
00:49I'm blown away. I'm a little emotional.
00:53Blown away and in a little bit of shock, disbelief and just so unbelievably ominous.
01:00And I think it's the best way I can put it right now.
01:02I mean, it's rightfully deserved.
01:05You've done so much, not just for showcasing the island, but for you individually as a talent.
01:11I mean, I can only imagine from growing up in Port St. Mary, the Isle of Man.
01:16Like you've said, I've seen in interviews that you've done, when you get asked all the time, people are like, Isle of Man, you have to explain to people, where are you from?
01:25No one knows who we are or what we do.
01:27And to be recognised by this island, who are so fiercely proud of who we are and what we represent, it must be surreal.
01:35Surreal is absolutely the right word.
01:37And, you know, we see sometimes the lack of understanding of the Isle of Man or lack of awareness of the Isle of Man, rather.
01:47But what I have found in my travels is that for such a small place, its reach is everywhere.
01:57And you find people in all corners of the globe who have a connection here.
02:02And I think for such a small place, that's something to be incredibly proud of and is a reflection of what we have here.
02:09What would you say then, I mean, final question, what would you say to young people out there, whether they're aspiring musicians, artists, creatives, whatever they want to do.
02:19They've got a dream, they had a dream like you once had, and you've made it, if not, you know, real, more so than.
02:26What would your advice be to them?
02:28Keep at it.
02:30And there's this wonderful phrase of love what you do and all else will follow.
02:35And I truly subscribe to that.
02:38And pour yourself into it.
02:40And it's really who you are that people connect to.
02:45Less so the paperwork or numbers or figures or anything like that.
02:52It's who you are as a person.
02:54Pour yourself into what you do and love what you do.
