00:00I can hear someone yelling for help.
00:24Yeah, yeah.
00:25It's the intersection of Bayrock and Burgundy.
00:27Tell me exactly what happened.
00:29A man was shot.
00:32533, 523, what's in on this over?
00:38Please, Sammy, please.
00:40Oh my god, please.
00:41He's not breathing.
00:46He's covered in blood.
00:47He's full of blood, dude.
00:48Oh my god.
00:49Come on, man.
00:50Come on, Sammy.
00:51Where's the .
00:53Sammy, please.
00:54Sammy, please.
00:55They're right behind.
00:57Oh no.
01:00No.
01:01No.
01:04.
01:06Oh, my God.
01:36So this is the Bywater area, it's kind of a nice little area, you know, quirky area of the city, like, they got, like, a lot of bars and everything, stay open all night, you know, right outside the French Quarter.
01:49I'm from New Orleans, I know the city, and we definitely don't get a lot of homicides in the neighborhood.
01:59What's up, bro, what do you got?
02:01Yeah, so your residents at the hospital, obviously.
02:06Yeah, looks to be about five, six casings on the grounds.
02:13We have video.
02:15Oh.
02:16So what?
02:17Looks like you had a car coming up the wrong way for Gundy.
02:21Kids breaking into cars, or could you tell?
02:24I haven't watched the video yet.
02:25All right, I'm here, actually, so I'll be good now, coming over there.
02:31I don't remember the last time I've been in this area where they had something happen.
02:36Like this.
02:40All crime scenes are different.
02:42It was quiet, I think, because of the area that it occurred in.
02:46When we're at a crime scene and the decedent's body is no longer there, it just makes it hard to figure out what actually happened.
02:52So we have to be thorough about what we pick up as evidence.
02:56Wow.
02:57Yeah, there's only a few casings, but there's clothing, keys, and something else.
03:04But it all appears that it belongs to the city.
03:07To him, right?
03:08Yeah.
03:09Yeah.
03:10You saw the video?
03:11No.
03:12We already had some footage from a neighbor.
03:15The first thing I want to do is look at it.
03:17This is the one.
03:18This is the one.
03:19Oh.
03:22That one goes by.
03:23You see them start walking up.
03:28I already see, like, there's a car coming up the one-way, and we see some people outside the cars pulling on door handles, kind of checking cars to see what they can get into.
03:36The decedent comes out, and he kind of confronts them, trying to stop someone doing something that they saw that was wrong.
03:42And this guy, that's your decedent?
03:45Yeah.
03:46In front of the car?
03:47Okay, they shoot him.
03:49Boom.
03:50Damn, then they hit him.
03:53It was extremely brutal.
03:55I felt like it was overkill.
03:57I mean, he was getting shot at the same time while he was being ran over with the car.
04:01His name is Mr. Brandon William Feeze.
04:06Brandon William is his middle name.
04:09Mm-hmm.
04:10And Feeze, and he is a white name.
04:11Okay.
04:12Um.
04:13Got it.
04:14Anytime they hit somebody with a car, there's damage to the car, that car's gonna get burned, man.
04:224161, can you notify homicide of any vehicle fires citywide between 1 a.m. and current, present time?
04:314161, let me ask you.
04:34A witness lens right down here?
04:37Yeah, right there.
04:46Sorry I had to come this early.
04:47Um, so sorry for what happened.
04:50So you both were sitting here?
04:52Um, there was a car coming up the wrong way on one-way street with the lights off.
04:58Mm-hmm.
04:59And they had kind of, like, stopped and, like, said something.
05:04And he was like, oh no, you know, that's .
05:07You don't remember what was said or anything like that?
05:10No, I didn't actually even hear any of it.
05:12Okay.
05:13Do you remember, like, what kind of car they were in or what color it was?
05:16I don't feel like it was an SUV.
05:18Right.
05:19It was a sedan in dark color.
05:20Okay.
05:21That's about all I got.
05:22Okay.
05:23Sorry.
05:24All right.
05:25These are definitely the type of cases that will stick to you.
05:27Mister was someone who was a good Samaritan, wasn't even from here.
05:31He was a character, you know.
05:33He joked around a lot.
05:34And a retired military veteran, you know, he was just trying to intervene and stop someone
05:39that was doing something that anyone would think was wrong.
05:42And, uh, he ends up losing his life.
05:44Communication to 4161.
05:474161.
05:48He's still crawling around right after this.
05:51Yeah.
05:52Uh, fire department went out on, uh, a black Pontiac GT at Kluitt and off Gallows overpass at,
05:58uh, 2.30.
05:59Might be it.
06:0210-4.
06:03Yeah.
06:04That's like two minutes away.
06:07Once they tell me that a car was set on fire less than a mile away, I need to go straight
06:11there just to see the vehicle.
06:13I'm thinking that this has got to be the car.
06:15Anywhere, like, there's an overpass or something like that, people will burn cars there.
06:20So they have cover, you know, like, uh, concealment.
06:23You can easily just, like, bring the vehicle back there, burn it, and kind of just leave it.
06:28Because wherever there's, like, an overpass, no one will be outside.
06:32What's this at?
06:34They bring it back here, maybe?
06:37Why the hell is...
06:41Oh, look.
06:42This is it right here.
06:44Ah.
06:45Yes.
06:46And it's not all the way burned.
06:50Well, but it's a good thing that amateurs are burning cars.
07:00So...
07:01Man.
07:02Right.
07:03Door looks unlocked.
07:04Mm-hmm.
07:05Ooh, look at that.
07:06There's McDonald's.
07:07McDonald's receipts.
07:08Finding this car immediately after the crime scene, it is a huge break.
07:13Stuff like this doesn't happen often.
07:14Oh, yeah.
07:15Perfect.
07:16Perfect.
07:17Perfect.
07:18Perfect.
07:19Perfect.
07:20Perfect.
07:21Is there a license plate?
07:22No.
07:23The trunk looked like it was damaged.
07:25Looked like they were trying to pry it open at some point.
07:28Got the VIN number.
07:30The VIN number helps identify the vehicle by providing a make and model.
07:34It's a number that's really hard to change.
07:36So, instead of looking for a license plate, I normally look for a VIN number, which helps
07:41identify the vehicle pretty quick.
07:43The taillights at least wrap around with that angle, so...
07:46Mm-hmm.
07:47It's not tinted.
07:48It's not tinted.
07:49Neither is this.
07:50Mm-hmm.
07:51I think this is it.
07:52Looks like it.
07:53Uh-huh.
07:56Knew it.
07:59You see prints?
08:00Yeah.
08:01Oh, that is a handprint.
08:03Can you lift that?
08:04Let me try.
08:07Now I need to find out where this damn car came from.
08:10After the crime lab processed the car, I'm going to have it towed back to NOPD headquarters,
08:15try to get a search warrant done on it as quickly as possible, so I can collect the evidence inside
08:20and maybe go look at surveillance footage.
08:24To headquarters we go.
08:50Oh, someone sent me a video, looks like.
08:57Once the car was towed back to the evidence cage, an off-duty officer, who lived a few blocks from the crime scene,
09:03sent me surveillance footage of the perpetrators walking next to the car, hooded up, wearing masks.
09:08Looks like the car that was used was actually blue.
09:14I need to call command desk.
09:23Hey, this is Detective Story with Homicide, Unit 4161.
09:28Yeah, yeah, I know.
09:29Um, so, yeah, can you please notify me if there's any other burn vehicles?
09:35That wasn't the car.
09:36So, yeah, looks like the car that I'm looking for now is blue.
09:39Um, this one is gray.
09:41Yeah.
09:48Now that I know I've towed the wrong car, I'm feeling like I'm still at square one.
09:52So, so I need to find this car and find it fast.
09:55So, so I need to find it fast.
10:08So, so I need to find it fast.
10:12all right bro so i actually have a video that i want to show you
10:38this is going to be the car kind of slow riding and you can see like the color of it yeah a little
10:45bit it's like a bluish kind of purple looking car and that definitely has like i see a hyundai
10:49emblem yeah i mean we could see if they got any color color left on it but i don't look like it
10:56nah not that i can tell no plate nope i don't see none i'm gonna look under here just to make sure
11:05though well let's see if we can get the number off the dashboard yep here it is oh that's sweet
11:15i'm hoping that once he runs the vent it comes back to a blue car like a blue hyundai but um
11:21if it doesn't then that means it's not the car and i'm back to square one
11:24what you got bro stolen what color is it blue hyundai oh that is it
11:34um hold on i'm about to pull up the item number real quick wait this thing is for today the 29th
11:43oh so they just reported it stolen yeah our auto death detective learned that same vehicle had just
11:50been placed out stolen at the fifth district station which is in that same vicinity where
11:54that car was found now i'm going to call the fifth district because i need to find out about this car
11:59okay so this this is only at 6 p.m she steps outside her hyundai is gone she knows right off the bat her
12:09vehicle is stolen so she goes immediately to her cameras and observes that 11 48 p.m the perpetrators
12:17approach the the white chevrolet cruise which is the victim's sister's vehicle while the three
12:23subjects were working on that chevrolet cruise someone is like actively starting up her hyundai
12:30elantra which is in the driveway just out of the view of the camera
12:36that chevy cruise they leave like the doors open the inside is ransacked and then right after that
12:41you can see the elantra pulling off this morning the owner associated with that condi elantra comes
12:47into the station to report her vehicle is stolen where they um put it up and masked up in that video
12:52too yeah okay thank you i appreciate that i might be hitting you up again all right all right well i'll
12:58be here until seven
13:09so um moving pretty fast on this one found the uh the card that was seen that the perpetrators were
13:20in found out that they were actually breaking in the cars before the murder and they possibly stole
13:26this car like a few hours before the murder happened so once we get license plate reads it consists us
13:32with tracking a car now i'm going to head to the real time crime center to see where i can pick this
13:36vehicle up so i just need to keep kind of following like these little breadcrumbs and possibly i'll get
13:41like an idea maybe get like a picture of some footage of them with no mask on at some point
13:57thanks
14:01i know where the car was stolen and there's only a few routes that it can take to get to the city so
14:07i'm checking all those locations i'm just waiting on them to make a mistake so i can test them without
14:12a mask on maybe at a gas station or a convenience store or something i'm just gonna um pretty much
14:20try and track this car for now the license plate readers tell me the exact time and location that
14:25the car is detected and a lot of them are hitting the new orleans east i'm already familiar with new
14:30orleans east because i live out there so i know a lot of those spots and everything boom there it is
14:41right after it's stolen it comes from charbonnet makes that left on a saint claude it starts traveling
14:46like towards like it's going across the canal like to the other side
14:52and here it comes right here
14:54so i'm just jump to this camera
15:03they're pulling into the gas station
15:12i'm just trying to see if i can catch them um at some point without face cover on maybe they
15:17you know let their guard down at some point went into a gas station or something
15:20i don't think they get out
15:40damn that was too good to be true
15:45i feel like every detective has his strengths my strength i think is reviewing surveillance footage
15:49and tracking cars if i find out that a car is involved i will sit there i will lose track of
15:55time i become obsessed with it you know i can track vehicles all over the city and i'll sit there for
16:01hours to do it
16:06oh yes where is this going at now at like three in the morning like an hour after the murder in
16:14new orleans east i noticed that the car comes up the wrong way on the opposite side of the street
16:18and it's driving towards a gas station you couldn't see the gas station but i'm familiar because i live out there
16:24so i'm gonna just see how long they were there for see if i can figure that out
16:28if the car is in there this may be coming back up
16:36so here it is it stayed there for about three minutes hopefully i can get footage of them getting
16:41out of the car perfect it's a huge lead in the case i'm feeling really good about finding who the
16:47alleged perpetrator is
17:01the car is in the car is in the car is in the car and the car is in the car is in the car
17:14definitely hit morrison oh yeah yeah i got them on morrison too
17:19they pulled into a gas station i'm telling you it seemed like they were they were riding around looking
17:23for somebody who like left their car running so they can jump in and take it so this is the gas
17:29station when they came out here they cut through here i was like what the are they doing
17:36what time we looking for here i think it's like three three or three a.m
17:43hey how you doing man um who can i talk to about looking at some surveillance cameras
17:47okay yeah so i'm gonna look at cameras five and maybe eight right so they should come from the top
17:57right right from looking at it right yeah they're gonna come straight this way and pull in yeah they
18:02go right here that's the car come on get out get out oh no face no mask oh who are you and you're
18:13gonna come in the store you can see like the damage to the windshield you can see the windshield
18:18is kind of smashed the license plate is visible and the driver gets out with no mask on oh that is
18:25beautiful that is beautiful bro great clarity i'm like i got your ass now this is sweet i got some
18:33distinctive clothes to look for shoes yep shoes oh look at that yeah
18:39good to go
18:46there you go bro okay
18:49thank y'all we got everything yeah appreciate it appreciate it you too thank you
18:53that's the car that's the license plate it's still on it yeah
19:08bring it to the office and i'm sending a bolo out as soon as i get back to the office of this dude
19:13i want to check with other detectives other officers to see if they've dealt with this dude if they know
19:18him or give us a name beautiful shot of his face pants has some ugly stripe down the side that that
19:25they'd be wearing now he has some shoes some nike shoes on it's perfect
19:38i wasn't his only brother because everybody here who joined in this memorial today was his brother or his sister
19:52he's kind of like the bratty little brother i never had
19:56a prankster a jokester he's brilliant and he has a very unique gift
20:02with helping people the first time i met him our neighborhood had flooded and so he came wading over
20:09in these white shrimp boots like hey y'all y'all good y'all need any help he was just a very selfless
20:16person like anytime anybody needed any help you didn't even have to ask he was there
20:23he never had a problem standing up for what was right he would get food together and hand it out to
20:27the homeless he would he would buy them things that they needed he'd take them to dinner in addition
20:33to his military service he had his own organization and he would interview veterans and record for their
20:41legacy to be preserved and you know i have a lot of respect for that he would go to va hospitals and say
20:48who's in the worst condition who needs the most help and he would do a fundraiser for that soldier
20:52he was just that much of a hero and he carried that mentality everywhere
21:01he would 100 do the right thing no matter what the world has lost a wonderful person
21:22i tracked this car from here all the way to the 7 800 block of bass street which is all the way in
21:37little woods down haynes boulevard and the car stays there for about an hour and a half the image on the
21:42left is the image of the guy who got out the blue car and the image on the right is from an investigation
21:49that the a district was doing in a previously um you can see just the same guy same facial features
21:55chin hair eyebrows nose and everything so we we did confirm that that's um cory boyd
22:02donnie williard our newest detective he came over and he was like oh yeah i know that dude he told me
22:07it was cory boyd and i found out that he was previously arrested in the a district so i'm guessing he
22:13goes to burn the car two blocks up from where he lives at right now we have a unit called v kate
22:20violent crime abatement investigation team they're sitting on a house where he lives so hopefully we
22:25can tie them down to a house it's gonna be a search warrant yeah they're gonna try and take him down
22:30and get him in custody so i can be able to question him from there he's definitely the driver because i
22:35tracked the car from the crime scene but um i know that there's two more people or maybe even three
22:41more people who are involved here you can see these guys are just casually walking the big dude you
22:46see what he looked like look like a damn lineman so i want to hit the rtcc though and uh and make sure
22:51i get all that video downloaded today i'm hoping that i can get video that would show all of the
22:57perpetrators of any of them now i'm going to head to the real-time crime center to see what possibly
23:02transpired before the homicide oh it is 12 30 on a wednesday and there's a second line passing around
23:14nlpd headquarters i love it why i don't know but guess what we can't move right now so
23:22a second line is just a party in the street you can have a second line for anything for a funeral
23:26for a child bird for a saint's victory super bowl second line is definitely a new orleans tradition if
23:33you see one you know that you're in new orleans right and this ain't new orleans bruh
23:48i have this really clear video of the person who was driving a car now i'm looking for more video
23:53maybe somebody got out somewhere else where i can get another description of another person that was
23:57in a car trying to see if i can find them close to the homicide i need something closer
24:07so this is a car coming from being stolen i would love to catch them like going into
24:11a gas station before the homicide that would be huge um i already have them at one after but like
24:16before would be like then i can say that he was he was there when the homicide happened
24:23what's up bro hey bro honestly i don't think yeah you don't think so
24:29yep but that that's his ig right there that i sent you all right so he posted this photo
24:37three hours ago yep you see him with the gun yeah so he got a gun in his hand and damn does this dude
24:45have on the same clothes that he wore the other night if he's out there like this i don't think he
24:51realized that anybody's even on to him at this point so which is good that's how i wanted to stay
25:07i was calling about your case man i saw what you put out you saw the video
25:37yeah i saw the video okay i mean even though it's kind of grainy that person got a very distinctive
25:42walk and she resembles a suspect i had worked in several cases okay i think that's actually going
25:48going to be a female it goes by the name of ronisha gray wow damn yeah yeah ronisha gray
25:56tabby said stocky uh she always dresses up in like you know the latest men's fashion i've worked
26:02several cases with her multiple violent crimes carjackings robberies uh that's kind of very mo
26:10man i definitely would look into it man and mo look you've done this long enough you gotta trust your
26:14instincts bro right right once i get some more video brahma i'ma come in uh i'm gonna hit you up
26:18and let you come in and look at it for me man you got it bro let me know at this point i'm feeling great
26:24about the case from the video that i have of the homicide i wasn't that sure that it's a female but
26:31we got this really good lead my next step is i need to get some better video i want to be 100 sure that
26:38this is
26:52Yo, what's up buddy, what's up bruh, appreciate it bruh, thanks for the help, what are we
27:14gonna do?
27:15So, I follow the car, the car gets off the interstate, at about 1.41, it hits on the license plate
27:22read, passenger opens, female gets out, so from there, she crosses the street, she crosses
27:30the street right here, Barone, and then she starts walking straight down the street, and
27:37I'm like, there is no way that this chick is going where I think she's going.
27:41She's walking towards Bourbon?
27:42She went to Bourbon Street.
27:45I do know that they have very good video on Bourbon Street, and if someone does go
27:50on Bourbon Street, that we will find them.
27:54Let's see, there's a ball camera.
27:56Where?
27:57Right there.
27:58To your left.
27:59Yeah, that's the one I was looking at.
28:00Oh, okay.
28:01How you doing?
28:04Do you have someone in here who operates the cameras?
28:08Yeah, for sure.
28:09All right.
28:10Perfect.
28:11Perfect.
28:12Let me just grab the key.
28:14That's an angle?
28:16Yeah.
28:17That would be it.
28:18Yep.
28:19That's the one.
28:20Yep.
28:21Here she comes right here.
28:23Keep coming.
28:25Oh.
28:26Oh, you son of a-
28:30Bruh, she did not come to the camera.
28:33She stayed to the side.
28:34She stayed to the side.
28:35Yeah, she did.
28:36Son of a- She stayed out of the light, too, bruh.
28:39She stayed all the way to the side.
28:41So, thank you, man.
28:42I appreciate it.
28:43Appreciate your time.
28:44Yeah.
28:45When video at a location doesn't work out, I try to stay focused and not get down.
28:53I just go out and look for more video.
28:55I mean, that's the only thing that we can do at that time.
28:57How you doing?
28:58How you doing, guys?
28:59And I saw Ladone came outside.
29:00I wanted to know if I could take a look at it and see if you caught a good facial shot.
29:03Uh, yeah.
29:04This was on the 29th or something in the morning.
29:08At least about 1.45-ish.
29:11The time's accurate on your camera, too?
29:14We are.
29:16Oh.
29:17There she is.
29:18Perfect timing.
29:19Got her.
29:20Casually walking, dude.
29:22Definitely her.
29:23Yeah.
29:24Perfect.
29:25Mm-hmm.
29:26Can we get that footage?
29:28Sure.
29:29Appreciate it, man.
29:30You're welcome.
29:31My pleasure.
29:32I'm extremely excited that I got this video from Bourbon Street because now I'm looking
29:37at that video like, oh, yeah, it's definitely really got your ass, too.
29:42So now I'm thinking that I need to find an officer who can ID this person.
29:48Yo, what's going on?
29:50My brother?
29:51Say, bro, were you asleep?
29:52Oh, yeah, bro, I'm good.
29:53What's up?
29:54Okay, you know I got that video that I want you to take a look at.
29:56Now, just trying to see when I can get you to take a look at it, bruh.
30:00Okay.
30:01It has to be, like, on record and stuff if you're going to identify her for me.
30:04Oh, yeah.
30:05Tomorrow, man, I'm going to be around, moving around like around, uh, probably like around
30:0811.
30:0911?
30:10All right.
30:11Perfect.
30:12I got you.
30:13All right.
30:14Appreciate it, bro.
30:15I'm hoping that Chuck gets to the office and then he just, from his knowledge and experience
30:17of dealing with this person, that he can immediately identify her as who we thought she was.
30:31What's up, bruh?
30:59What's up, bruh?
31:00What's up, man?
31:01Doing all right?
31:02My hero.
31:03Appreciate you, bro.
31:04Been all right, huh?
31:05Yeah, you know.
31:06Making it.
31:07How you been, bruh?
31:08Good, man.
31:09Just working.
31:10Yeah.
31:11What you got, man?
31:12Um, let's see.
31:15So, you'll see?
31:18Yeah.
31:19Okay.
31:20Those are the clothes I saw on the surveillance footage.
31:22Mm-hmm.
31:24All right.
31:25Let me sit down and mess with it a little.
31:27Mm-hmm.
31:28You want to sit down?
31:29Yeah, yeah.
31:30I want to pause it and stuff.
31:41All right.
31:42Judging by the walk, the build, and what I can see of her face, I would say that's Renisha Gray.
31:49Okay.
31:50I investigated at least two armed robberies with her over the past four years.
31:55Watched countless surveillance footage.
31:57She goes by the street name of Bando.
31:59I mean, absolutely.
32:00Okay.
32:01Cool.
32:02Perfect, bruh.
32:03I appreciate it.
32:04It made both of us very excited about getting Renisha off the street.
32:09Finally.
32:10Mm-hmm.
32:11That's Renisha.
32:12Yeah.
32:13I actually have.
32:14So, here's the video.
32:15I don't know if you've seen the video of the actual murder, but at this point, Renisha actually ran and got into the car.
32:24So, she wasn't even out of the car when the shooting happened.
32:28So, he's, so you'll see he's trying to get in the car, but then, bam, he shoots him.
32:36Oh, oh, oh.
32:37Multiple shots.
32:38Oh, then they ran him over.
32:39Then he runs up and finishes him off.
32:41He hits him again in the head.
32:42Boom.
32:43Mm-hmm.
32:44Then he finally gets in the car, and then they speed off.
32:47Then 20 to 30 minutes later, she's dropped off at Canal Street where she goes to Bourbon.
32:53Same clothes.
32:54So, yep.
32:55Yeah.
32:56Probably one of the most senseless ones I've seen in a while.
33:00Mm-hmm.
33:01At the time, they were definitely coming up on his car.
33:05So, I think Mr. felt like he was protecting his property, and he ends up losing his life.
33:10This shouldn't have happened, but now it's all coming together.
33:14And I'm confident with all the information that I have.
33:17What I do know from just dealing with Bando over the years, that she has a relationship with Boyd.
33:25They've actually been on Instagram together.
33:26Mm-hmm.
33:27Not quite sure if they're related at this point, but they definitely, you know, hang out.
33:34Right.
33:35Okay.
33:36Because I have Renisha Gray identified, and I also have Corey Boyd identified, now I'm able
33:41to put together an arrest warrant for both of them.
33:44The third suspect is a shooter.
33:46He's a smaller person, and we have no leads on him yet.
33:49Yeah, well, she'll have an arrest warrant out for her today.
33:53Okay.
33:54So.
33:55All right.
33:56Well, let me know if there's anything else I can do.
33:57Okay.
33:58All right.
33:59Appreciate it, bro.
34:00Let's go.
34:01Let's go.
34:02Go.
34:03Let's go.
34:04Let's go.
34:05Go.
34:06Let's go.
34:07Let's go.
34:08Go.
34:09Yo, whadup, bro.
34:10Yo, what up, bro?
34:33Oh, really?
34:35Renisha.
34:36They got Renisha Gray in custody.
34:38Where?
34:39Okay.
34:39So, yeah, where was he?
34:44Okay.
34:45In Lafayette.
34:47So, all right.
34:48Perfect.
34:50Listen, so let me tell you what I need then.
34:54Can you take her cell phone?
34:55Because I'm going to need that.
34:57And that's pretty much it.
34:58Was anybody else, like, with her?
35:01Corey?
35:02Yeah, it was Corey.
35:04Okay, no Corey?
35:06Okay.
35:07All right.
35:07It's extremely good news that she was captured, but we still have a lot of work to do with this case.
35:15Now I need Corey Boyd.
35:18Once we get Corey Boyd, then I'm real close to finding out who the shooter is, but I do need to talk to her.
35:24So, that's cool.
35:26Perfect.
35:26One down.
35:27That's huge.
35:31I'm feeling very excited because I have two possible suspects.
35:35And I have a really good video of both of them.
35:37But I still have one more person out there that I need to find.
35:40And we will find them.
35:42And we will find them.
35:42We will find them.
35:54And we will find them.
35:56And figuring out who the shooter is.
35:57We will find them.
35:59And I have abee here.
36:01We will find them.
36:02Keep going.
36:03And we will find them.
36:03The area had a nà y.
36:03And Corey, did he tell y'all his name and everything?
36:31Once we got back to the station, he told us.
36:33OK.
36:34All right.
36:34Perfect.
36:35And we told him that detectives would be coming and talk to him.
36:37All right.
36:38Can we go in through here?
36:39Yep.
36:39All right.
36:39Cool.
36:42He's in the interview room now?
36:43Yes, sir.
36:43Yeah, that's good.
36:45All right.
36:46Come on.
36:53What's up, bro?
36:54Here you go.
36:56I'm going to take the story.
36:57It's not part of the detective here.
36:59Mm-hmm.
37:00He told you about a few things.
37:04I'm hoping that Cora will just tell me what happened that night
37:07and who all was with him that night, because we'd only
37:09have the name of one person that was in the car with Cora.
37:11I don't know who the other person was.
37:14All right.
37:14Have any of these rights in mind?
37:15Do you wish to speak to me?
37:17What is the problem?
37:19I need a yes or no.
37:20If you were to talk to me, I'll explain everything to you.
37:24I'm sorry?
37:25Let me talk to you.
37:26All right.
37:26Perfect.
37:27So I'm investigating a homicide that happened in a Bywater area
37:31where a dude was hit by a car and shot.
37:33All right?
37:34You remember what happened that night.
37:35And look, let me tell you something.
37:36Oh, no.
37:37Say, bro, this is what we not going to do, all right?
37:41Because I knew you was.
37:43So I need you to keep it a buck with me, keep it real with me, all right?
37:48Tell me what happened that night, all right?
37:51Just be straight up with me.
37:54So listen, you agree to talk, right?
37:57So you telling me you wasn't there is not, that's not,
38:01how do you think we got here?
38:03All right?
38:03We got here.
38:04Dude, I didn't just pull your name out of the hat.
38:06Come on, dude.
38:06There's so much video, and you're going to sit up here
38:09and tell me you wasn't there when you was there.
38:11So many videos.
38:13I don't have to show you a video.
38:14Let me tell you, I already have an arrest warrant for you.
38:16So if you're going to play that game, you can play that game.
38:20But if you, I mean, if you won't keep it real with me,
38:24I'm giving you a chance to tell me what happened.
38:33All right.
38:34Look, I know your MO.
38:35I know what you do.
38:36You breaking cards, all right?
38:38I don't.
38:38OK, you don't do that.
38:39But you said you were doing regular .
38:41Right.
38:42So just explain to me.
38:43What is what are you talking about?
38:45Like, I guess, well, I was, yeah, I got one of them already.
38:57Because she was like, let her stop and get in the car real quick.
39:02She was about to check her car.
39:04Again, she tried to check her car.
39:05So when I came outside, and they went to try to approach her,
39:10like, fighting type of .
39:11And she was like, no, she ain't about to do all that.
39:14So boom, he kept trying to approach her, approach her.
39:16So boom.
39:18I just heard a cycle off.
39:20On the side one off, like, I wound up a little bit.
39:22That's when I wound up a little bit.
39:25Like, the person ran in front of the car.
39:27When he ran in front of the car, I was about to go fast.
39:31And then he just ran in front of the car.
39:33And then I hit him, and I stopped right there.
39:35And then he wasn't moving anymore.
39:36So I was like, I was like, I just went around,
39:39and I got to find you, and I didn't do anything else out there.
39:42OK.
39:43When you say she tried to get in the car, who is she?
39:46OK.
39:47I don't know.
39:50Bro, tell me, tell me who I was with you.
39:54What about Renisha?
39:56Hmm?
39:58What about me?
39:59What'd she have?
40:03You know who it was about?
40:04You tell me?
40:05I don't know.
40:07Was she there?
40:09I don't know.
40:10You don't know?
40:11OK.
40:13Who was the other person who was there?
40:15I don't know.
40:18You ain't going to say no names?
40:19So you're going to take that ride by yourself?
40:22I ain't motherfucking that .
40:23Hmm?
40:25All right.
40:27Who burned the car?
40:30You don't know?
40:31So it just burned, like, near your house,
40:34but you don't know who did it?
40:36Hmm.
40:37All I need, bro.
40:39All right.
40:41You going to do that?
40:42That's all good?
40:43You good?
40:44You got anything?
40:45All right.
40:46We're going to get somebody to take you up.
40:49It is frustrating that he didn't tell me who the shooter was,
40:51but I think that in other ways, I'll figure it out.
40:55But it was a win because he did tell me his role in the homicide.
40:58Oh, that was just him punching the table.
41:09Oh, OK.
41:10Yeah.
41:11He had missed a driving a car like I knew.
41:14Yeah.
41:15He had missed a hitting him with the car.
41:16I mean, the video shows it.
41:17I mean, this dude was being shot.
41:19At the same time, he accelerated and just hit him with the car.
41:24So he had missed his role.
41:25So that's good.
41:27That works.
41:28Appreciate y'all working.
41:29It was good work.
41:30Yeah.
41:31Working hard today, you know?
41:32Yeah.
41:33That was probably one of the easiest interviews I ever had, honestly.
41:34Yeah.
41:35Yeah.
41:36Yeah.
41:37Yeah.
41:38Yeah.
41:39Yeah.
41:40Yeah.
41:41Yeah.
41:42Yeah.
41:43Yeah.
41:44Yeah.
41:45Yeah.
41:46Yeah.
41:47Yeah.
41:48Yeah.
41:49Yeah.
41:50Yeah.
41:51Yeah.
41:52Yeah.
41:53Yeah.
41:54Yeah.
41:55Yeah.
41:56Yeah.
41:57We lost a really good person.
42:14After talking to the family and everything, I learned that Mr. He was a character, you know,
42:18he joked around a lot and he loved his mom.
42:21And he was out here trying to stop someone doing something that was wrong.
42:25And then his life gets taken.
42:26So, I mean, that affects everyone, not just family, but the whole community.
42:32I'm from New Orleans.
42:34In New Orleans, we look out for one another.
42:40He showed us what New Orleans is really about.
42:41He showed us what New Orleans is really about.
42:42He's going to be in the city of New Orleans.
42:43He was injured.
42:44He was inside by the city before New Orleans, they stopped him, never had to go für a few hours.
42:45He was in the city of New Orleans, possibly the town of New Orleans, and he was like,
42:49I plan to make this whole house.
42:50He was really excited to see each other.
42:51He was in the city of New Orleans.
42:52He was like, I'm kinda worried.
42:53He just really got tired to get him.
42:54That's all.
42:55He really really got tired.
42:56I'm really not worried about things.
42:58He said it.
42:59He really did.
