00:00A lot of respect for the New England Patriots out there in the marketplace right now,
00:03looking to possibly win an AFC East crown over the heavily favored to start the year, Buffalo Bills.
00:09The New England Patriots are on the road this weekend to take on the Cincinnati Bengals.
00:12They are favored now by 7.5 to 8.5, depending on where you're shopping at,
00:16and a total of 49.5.
00:18Jamar Chase was hoping to appeal and get back into this game.
00:21Appeal denied.
00:23Big-time fine, one-game suspension.
00:25What's our spread line for New England and Cincinnati?
00:27By the way, thanks, Mr. Chase, for clarifying the fact that if you were going to spit on him,
00:35you would have spit in his face and not his jersey.
00:37So I'm glad that you rectified that for everybody there.
00:41Unbelievable.
00:42New England, by the way, look ahead, line in this, Donnie.
00:465, 5.5, they were a favorite.
00:48Now, of course, you got the suspension.
00:50Now we're looking at 8, 8.5.
00:52New England is, you know, they got extra rest for this one.
00:55They beat the Jets on, what, last Thursday night, week 11?
00:59And meanwhile, the Bengals just got pummeled by the Steelers here,
01:03and it really wasn't even close.
01:05Pittsburgh scored, what, 24 to 34 points in the second half.
01:10I would expect points coming from this one for New England,
01:14but I would not be shocked, Donnie.
01:16There's a reason why the over in Cincinnati at home this year, 5-0 to the over, 11-2 to the over over the last couple of years.
01:27I can see this game getting a ton of points when it's all said and done.
01:31By the way, also a little hint, taking a look at some of those weather conditions from Tuesday as we look ahead until Sunday.
01:37Last week, a lot of windy and cold conditions.
01:39That's not the case this week, Joe.
01:40We're talking about some of these games.
01:42Most of them, I should say, at least 50 degrees or higher, very light winds, and no precipitation.
01:46So if you like to back overs and prop bets, not a bad week.
01:49We say, oh, no, 30-mile-an-hour winds.
01:51That's not the case.
01:52That should be some good stuff.
01:53Next game in the NFL, we'll talk about those Pittsburgh Steelers waiting to see who their quarterback is going to be this weekend.
01:58Aaron Rodgers probably going to practice later in the week to see if he can handle the duties.
02:02If not, it's going to be Mr. Mason Rudolph.
02:04They're going to take on Chicago.
02:06How about Chicago?
02:07Opened up as a one-and-a-half-point favorite.
02:08Now as high as three at some outlets due to the news on Aaron Rodgers.
02:1244-and-a-half as the total here.
02:14Chicago as a favorite at home.
02:16What's your spread line here for this game, Joe?
02:18Well, this is one of those classic spots, Donnie, where depending on which side you're leaning will depend on when you bet this.
02:25If you like Chicago, now is the time to do it.
02:28If you can get two-and-a-halves, get it.
02:30It did hit three in a couple of spots, Donnie, yesterday.
02:34And then that seems to be the line in the sand.
02:38And then it was brought back down to two-and-a-half.
02:40But if Aaron Rodgers gets announced out at some point later on in this week, I would imagine it's going to be three, three-and-a-half by the time we get the kick.
02:51And if that is the case, then I would bet Chicago now.
02:55And if I like Pittsburgh with Mason Rudolph one way or the other, there's no reason for you to bet this game now.
03:01Hold off.
03:02Wait.
03:02You'll probably end up getting that key number three before kick.
03:06By the way, again, I actually think I like it more for the Bears if Aaron Rodgers does play in this game.
03:12If Aaron Rodgers doesn't play, I don't think you get a massive downgrade.
03:15At least you have Mason Rudolph, a little bit younger quarterback that can be maneuvered in the pocket.
03:18But also, you're right, Joe.
03:20This guy, it's not a guy getting his first start like Shadour Sanders this weekend.
03:23Like, this guy's been around the block and won some games before.
03:25We'll see how that one plays.
03:27We are talking about NFL news and notes at this point in the show.
03:30And it's like, okay, well, let's get to it here.
03:32Bill Belichick, we'll start there.
03:33Wait a second, Donnie.
03:34He's not in the NFL.
03:36Doesn't matter.
03:37He used to be in the NFL.
03:38He gets tied into this.
03:39So, Joe Ranieri, if you would think that your football team is struggling, you know, maybe you don't make a lot of public appearances.
03:45You just want the appearance that you're grinding.
03:47You're going to come back next year with a better football team, recruit, spend some of that NIL money, and really improve.
03:52But if you're not going bowling this year, you might as well have some fun as well.
03:56Bill Belichick, seen with his girlfriend at a cheerleading competition.
04:01And you might say, like, all right, well, maybe they're supporting one of their friends.
04:04And, you know, they just wanted to be out for a night on the town.
04:06Maybe have some dinner and stop by to show their support.
04:09Well, the support here for this is Bill Belichick is there because his girlfriend is in the cheerleading competition.
04:15Look at Bill Belichick out here strutting in the streets at his girlfriend's cheerleading competition.
04:21Sounds pretty good, doesn't it?
04:27It's just good to see, Donnie.
04:29It really is.
04:30It's good to see that even sugar daddies get roped into having to go to events that they want.
04:36Absolutely, they'd rather die than be at, Donnie, because every one of us has been exactly in that spot that Bill Belichick is going, why am I here?
04:47An adult co-ed cheerleading league?
04:50Aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, Bill.
04:52Somebody please step in with an intervention here and help poor Bill Belichick, please.
04:58Ah, it's good times.
04:58These are the stories we need to keep the people updated on, absolutely.
05:01Not the stories like Aaron Rodgers fracturing his wrist just before the half in a victory over the Cincinnati Bengals,
05:07only to find out he's going to try to give it a go in practice later this week to see if he can actually manage that Steelers offense.
05:14We just talked about this game.
05:15I think he should sit this one out at least a week or two to get the feeling back, the mobility back,
05:20because we know an old man in the pocket, he's going to get hit.
05:23What happens when you get hit?
05:25You must brace yourself when you go to the ground.
05:27He won't be able to do that.
05:29How can he play this weekend?
05:31I doubt very much that he can.
05:34And again, Tomlin playing coy.
05:37I get it, right?
05:38I mean, you got to, who do you prepare for?
05:40Rodgers or Rudolph?
05:41Not the same type of quarterback here.
05:44But, you know, even he said it yesterday.
05:47There's a reason why you kept Mason Rudolph here on the roster.
05:51He's been there.
05:52He's done this before.
05:54It's not a rookie.
05:55You know what you're going to get from him.
05:57He knows the team.
05:58He knows the Bears.
05:59Like, this is, you know, it's okay.
06:02It's not Aaron Rodgers.
06:03But you know what?
06:05It's a still very winnable game for the Pittsburgh Steelers with Mason Rudolph under center.
06:11By the way, I do tell you a big injury there certainly is Aaron Rodgers.
06:14We'll keep an eye on that.
06:15But Jalen Warren is the guy that should be able to absolutely dominate this week against the Cincinnati Bengals.
06:21Or, excuse me, against the Bears.
06:22But you say to yourself, well, he's banged up and he can't go.
06:26Now we're down our starting, you know, running back and our starting quarterback.
06:30Where do we go from here?
06:31But that's one of the situations to monitor specifically if you're looking at prop bets or your fantasy team.
06:35Yeah, that's a great point, Donnie.
06:38Yes, they, Stiles make fights here, right?
06:41And Pittsburgh knows what time it is.
06:43They have a still a one-game lead over Baltimore.
06:47I tend to think regression is coming for the Chicago team.
06:51But the defense, Donnie, has got to step up.
06:54You got a backup quarterback in there.
06:55That Pittsburgh defense has got to show up and show out.
06:58And they might just be playing the best that they've played all season.
07:01Joe, I was furious on Sunday.
07:05I had a Moneyline parlayer that could have got closed out with just a win for the Kansas City Chiefs.
07:08And on X, I was letting people know, I don't understand this.
07:12You can't just pass repeatedly against an unbelievable defensive pass rush.
07:16You have to slow it down by running the football.
07:18And then Monday we got on here.
07:19And I was even more angry the day after.
07:21But now it turns out Patrick Holmes might be making some of those checks himself.
07:25Here's Big Red talking about it.
07:27We're calling quite a few of the RPOs.
07:30So yesterday they were giving us opportunities to throw the football.
07:36So we utilize the opportunities there.
07:39And those things end up being as good as a run for you.
07:42We're getting four plus yards and you go with it.
07:46But the runs are being called.
07:49It's just, you know, sometimes they get turned into passes in today's world.
07:55You know, that's how it goes.
07:57But we're getting them in.
07:59Now, we have some hard runs where you just get up, line up, and go.
08:02Probably could call more of those.
08:05Oh, this is good.
08:06This is good.
08:07Because the one thing you know about Andy Reid,
08:09this has been dating back to his Eagles tenure back into the late 1990s.
08:13He would usually just say, it's my job to get them in a better position.
08:17I'll make sure I do a better job of that.
08:19He's actively calling out Patrick Holmes, which I like.
08:22Because sometimes that signals to the rest of the team.
08:25The Teflon Don at quarterback, even though he's one of the greatest of all time.
08:28Yes, he's not making the right moves at some times right here.
08:30This will be interesting to see how it filters into this next huge game.
08:34Do they run the football more?
08:35They absolutely need to, Joe.
08:37They do.
08:39Well, and they need to get healthier at running backs.
08:41They need Pacheco back.
08:43Can't just be Kareem Hunt.
08:44They need more.
08:47Anybody watch the WWE this week for Raw?
08:50Why would you do that?
08:50John Cena's last appearance on Raw until, what, two months later
08:53when he decides to make another comeback tour at this point?
08:55Because in the WWE, they like 60-year-old wrestlers
08:58more than maybe pushing a 25-year-old.
09:00That's beyond the point.
09:01But you had some superstar athletes in the building that night,
09:04which included the Philadelphia Eagles and Cooper Dejean and Big Dom.
09:07But also, you had Cam Scadaboo in the arena, I guess,
09:11with, you know, boot on his foot and protecting his leg.
09:14And some people are upset with that for the Giants,
09:17saying, you injure yourself again, this could have a setback.
09:20Do you have any issues with Cam Scadaboo at Monday Night Raw
09:23making an appearance, Joe?
09:25Was he there with Kevin Walsh?
09:27Like, what, I don't, what exactly was, I'm just saying,
09:32I know Kevin might have been in attendance there.
09:34Um, I'm just kind of curious, though.
09:36Was he in the ring?
09:38Uh, was he actually a part, oh, so people have a problem
09:43with him sitting in the audience watching a wrestling.
09:46Yeah, people need to get a grip, okay?
09:49Uh, he's not a week away from coming back
09:51and you're battling, uh, for a playoff position.
09:54Like, settle down, everyone.
09:56Let the kid enjoy his life.
09:58Uh, he's not hurting anybody.
09:59And he's not really at risk in the watching it, uh, as a, uh, you know,
10:04in attendance as opposed to participating in it, Donnie.
10:08People need to settle down here.
10:10Let him be who he is.
10:12Like, and you're right about this.
10:14He's not a 55-year-old guy or 60-year-old guy or 70-year-old guy
10:18going to a cheerleading competition where you can analyze and say,
10:20what's he doing?
10:21He's in his early 20s.
10:23Madison Square Garden for a monster event that, you know,
10:26WWE was like, hey, man, you want to come out?
10:28We got free tickets.
10:28You can watch the show.
10:29Cena's here.
10:30The crowd would love to have you there.
10:31And he also said on his Twitter, leave me alone.
10:35Like, if you think this is a problem, like, I'm down in the dumps.
10:38If anybody's ever had an injury where you're away from your team
10:40and you can't compete with something you love,
10:42you have to find that other activity that sort of gives you some joy,
10:46whether it's streaming or playing Madden online
10:48or talking to your friends or going out to the local pub
10:50to have a beer and have a couple wings while you watch a game.
10:53Dudes out there at WWE probably loves wrestling.
10:56People are like, hey, man, you shouldn't be out and about.
10:59You should be in your apartment slash condo slash your house
11:02until training camp.
11:03You can't get injured here.
11:05I got it.
11:06Listen, Belichick had a better chance of being injured at the co-ed,
11:11you know, adult cheerleading competition
11:15than Scadaboo would have sitting, you know, ringside there
11:19with security all over the place and getting hurt.
11:21Like, stop it.
11:22Like, people need to settle down.
11:25Yes, he is the future of the Giants along with Jackson Dart,
11:29but he can, you know, at 22 years old,
11:31he's allowed to go and enjoy a wrestling match there.
11:34What do you want, a bubble wrap?
11:36That kid of all people, you want a bubble wrap?
11:38Like, good luck with that.
11:40Let me know how that works out.
11:41Yeah, exactly.
11:42How about this?
11:43How about this working out on Thursday night football?
11:45The Buffalo Bills traveling to take on the Houston Texans.
11:48This line opened up at 2.5 as the look ahead line, Joe.
11:51Now 5.5 and 6 is starting the show in the marketplace.
11:55Why?
11:55Davis Mills is going to be the quarterback once again for another start
11:58because C.J. Stroud, not under the weather,
12:00but does have a concussion and probably will be back the following week.
12:0443.5 is the total here.
12:06By the way, Davis Mills, not too bad in his repeat starts there
12:08while C.J. Stroud has been out picking up a couple victories.
12:12I don't know if they can pull out this victory,
12:13but the one thing I do know is Houston has a really good defense.
12:16Josh Allen going to have to get on his game
12:19to push that football up and down the field.
12:21Why do I say that?
12:22Last time they had a road game, Joe, it was against the Dolphins.
12:25Tell me how that one worked out.
12:27Yeah, yeah.
12:28Well, it's, you know, and this is the up and down nature
12:31of what the Buffalo Bills have been in the Josh Allen era
12:35where they look like world beaters a couple of weeks.
12:38Then all of a sudden they go on this stretch where it's like,
12:41are you kidding me?
12:42This team is awful.
12:43And now they bounce back last week with a great performance
12:47at home against Tampa.
12:48Short week against a inferior offense.
12:53Even the Buffalo Bills defense should have some success
12:56against Davis Mills.
12:57I don't know that they're not going to drop 40, Donnie,
13:00like they did against Tampa, but they should be able to score enough
13:03and limit Davis Mills and that offense to get the win here.
13:08Yeah, we saw a shootout last week
13:10and some high wind conditions in Buffalo.
13:12Now we're going to be on a dome, but it is a short work week here
13:14where the Bills got to travel from that Sunday game
13:16to a Thursday game down in Houston,
13:18and Houston has a very, very good defense.
13:20The one thing that could be interesting to me is
13:22your ultimate outlet there for Josh Allen is Dalton Kincaid,
13:25but he's down for a couple weeks on IR.
13:27Somebody else has to step up because it's not a great wide receiving core.
13:30You know, Dawson Knox getting up there in age,
13:32it's sort of like you're leaning on that running game
13:34on how much success can you have.
13:35It feels like to me, if you're correlating this game
13:38and Buffalo is going to cover that six-point spread,
13:40it's because Josh Allen has another big game.
13:42Now, we're not talking about Josh Allen,
13:44hey, you need three touchdown passes
13:46and three rushing touchdowns for six combined,
13:48but he is going to have to control this tempo here
13:50up against that really strong Texans defense.
13:52Yeah, it's funny, too, because Josh Allen has gone against
13:57a top-five defense 29 times, I think, in his career
14:01during the regular season, and, you know,
14:04those defenses, Donnie, that allow 20 points or less,
14:07he's actually been great against them,
14:0923-5-1 against the number in those games,
14:12and if that team is actually below 500,
14:1617-4-1 against the number.
14:18The only team he hasn't had any success against, period,
14:21has been this Houston team.
14:24I mean, the Bills have dropped five straight games,
14:26including three in a row by Josh Allen,
14:29so that for whatever reason,
14:31they have not had a lot of success
14:33against this Houston Texans team in his career.
14:36We look at the touchdown marketplace here
14:38for Thursday Night Football, and it doesn't surprise you
14:40who would be the leader in the club pass.
14:42It's actually Josh Allen.
14:43He got in three times last week,
14:44followed by James Cook at a minus-120 price,
14:47then everybody else is plus money,
14:48starting with Woody Marks, starting tailback there
14:50for the Houston Texans.
14:52Nico Collins, Khalil Shakir, Dalton Schultz,
14:54and so far and so forth down the list we go.
14:56Any looks here for you, Joe,
14:58when you take a look at that touchdown market?
14:59Who do you think finds some pay dirt on Thursday night?
15:02Kind of hard not to go like Josh Allen, right?
15:05I mean, it's so funny,
15:07because there's a tale of two things,
15:09two teams, right?
15:10The Texans have had goal line issues all year long,
15:14so to look at anybody on their side
15:16that think you're going to get a rushing touchdown,
15:19they have, I think, one rushing touchdown
15:21inside the five-yard line.
15:23That's tied for the worst with the Saints, Donnie.
15:26So it's hard for me to look in the TD market with Houston,
15:30but I do think you have some options here.
15:33Tight ends with Josh Allen, Josh Allen Cook.
15:36They have some options here in order to be,
15:39once they get into that red zone,
15:41and I think rushing is the best way for them
15:44to be able to get it.
15:45Yeah, we'll see what find out Thursday night
15:47with that low total there.
15:48Bills favored by roughly a touchdown,
15:49but if we do swing things over to the standings here
15:52for this season in the AFC East,
15:54the New England Patriots, 9-2 overall.
15:57The Buffalo Bills at 7-3.
15:59Still doable for the Bills to come back,
16:01but they have to win this football game,
16:02and also a couple weeks they are going to face off
16:04going up against the New England Patriots-Buffalo Bills game.
16:07That's going to go a long way.
16:08The Patriots, a minus 250 price in the Bills,
16:10plus 195.
16:12If we do look, eight games in a row
16:14the New England Patriots have won here,
16:16but there are some tough parts of the schedule coming up.
16:18You have the Jets coming up here
16:20for the New England Patriots,
16:22or excuse me, you beat the Jets.
16:23You have the Bengals and the Giants.
16:25Those should be two victories,
16:26but then back-to-back, Joe,
16:28on the 14th of December,
16:29the Buffalo Bills,
16:30followed by the Baltimore Ravens here.
16:32Still some work to do,
16:33but they sit in a good spot here.
16:34Do you trust them as the favorite,
16:36and would you bet them, Joe,
16:37as the favorite to win it?
16:38Yeah, it's, listen,
16:41they, I don't think they're interested in anything else
16:44other than winning some games
16:46because they don't control their own destiny anymore, right?
16:49Even if they win out,
16:50they're going to need some help from New England
16:53if they're going to take down the AFC East again.
16:55But you also have to wonder at this point,
16:58do they really care about winning the AFC East?
17:01Is it more about just get in,
17:02you got to be in it to win it,
17:04and let's go here.
17:05So I do trust them to win this game,
17:08but I do think it's going to be a very low-scoring game,
17:11and I think they will get the cover
17:13simply because where are the points coming from
17:16for the Houston Texans?
17:18I have no idea.
17:20Some things, Joe,
17:21that still don't make sense
17:22when you try to correlate them.
17:23You say, okay, the New England Patriots,
17:25they're the heavy favorite to win this division,
17:26minus 250 to the Buffalo Bills, plus 195.
17:29And then they go, yeah, that's all nice.
17:31Well, who's actually going to win the AFC?
17:32Oh, look, the Buffalo Bills,
17:34the favorites to win the AFC at plus 390,
17:37and the Patriots at a seven-to-one price.
17:39Sometimes you just don't see eye-to-eye
17:41on some of these odds, Joe.
17:44Listen, but we've seen this before with Buffalo,
17:48and usually right around this time of year, Donnie,
17:50they go through this stretch of just like head scratching,
17:54and then they turn it around and turn it up another notch,
17:57and that's what the market thinks they're going to do.
18:00Absolutely.
18:00It's about the playoffs, people.
18:02We'll see if Josh Allen can finally make it to a Super Bowl.
18:04We will find out.
18:06Wednesday hump day right here on the early line,
18:08the Sports Grid Network, Donnie Wright's out,
18:10along with Joe Ranieri.
18:11Now we bring in our good buddy here, Adam Kaufman,
18:13to go over some of today's news and notes,
18:15and also what might be on the horizon.
18:17Adam, how are we feeling this morning on a glorious Wednesday?
18:20Yeah, good.
18:21How are you guys doing?
18:24Relaxing, fun, energy is high.
18:26Joe Ranieri bringing that heat each and every morning.
18:28Let's get into it here, Adam.
18:30I need some help on this one.
18:31We'll see the New England Patriots out here in these streets winning eight straight games
18:35and favored to win their ninth game in a row.
18:38And Drake May goes from,
18:39can he be our franchise quarterback too?
18:41Can he be MVP of the entire NFL?
18:45On deck this weekend is the Cincinnati Bengals.
18:47They're now favored by over a touchdown.
18:50No more for me, Adam.
18:51Do I look at it and say,
18:51another referendum game.
18:53Can they win when they're supposed to win?
18:54And all the Patriots too is win when they're supposed to win for the past eight weeks here.
18:59How are we feeling about New England?
19:00Not only to win this division,
19:02but Drake May being the MVP of the entire league.
19:05Well, I know a couple of weeks back,
19:07I was starting to make the case for Drake May to be MVP
19:10and Ranieri couldn't even control himself.
19:12He was just laughing out loud in my face
19:15at the notion that Drake May could be the most valuable player of this league.
19:19And look, it's still obviously on the table
19:22and he is among the favorites.
19:24Matthew Stafford is right there in the mix.
19:26People are trying to force Jonathan Taylor into the conversation.
19:30No disrespect, by the way, toward Taylor at all.
19:32He has had an unbelievable year, but guess what?
19:35Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry,
19:38they both had unbelievable years last year
19:40and they didn't even sniff the conversation.
19:42The reason for that, as we've talked about before,
19:44and as I hope people know by now,
19:46who are investing money in this market,
19:48the MVP goes to a quarterback.
19:50More often than not, very rare exception,
19:53it's a quarterback award.
19:54And then Offensive Player of the Year,
19:56that's for the other guys,
19:58whether it's a running back or a wide receiver
20:00and almost never a tight end, as we know.
20:02And so, yeah, it comes down to the QBs.
20:04And for Drake May, I just think there's
20:06going to be an element of narrative that comes into play.
20:10And it is humans that vote for this award, obviously,
20:12so it's not like it's determined by the algorithm
20:15or something like that.
20:16And people are going to look at it and they are going to see,
20:18for one, you'll look at all the raw data, the stats.
20:21And at the moment, as we sit here entering Week 12,
20:24Drake May is among the best quarterbacks
20:25in the entire NFL statistically.
20:28Say what you want, about the eye test if you disagree,
20:30statistically, he's right there among the best.
20:33And so from there, it's what were expectations coming in?
20:37A lot of people are going to look at Drake May and say,
20:39this guy's effectively a rookie in many ways still.
20:43Last year, technically, was his first year in the league.
20:45He was not a full-time starter.
20:47He emerged as the season went on.
20:48This is year one in terms of the full Drake May experience.
20:52That's part of it.
20:53Also elevating a franchise that has been in the dumpster
20:57for the last handful of years and hasn't been in the playoffs
20:59since, you know, they got smoked by the Bills back in 2021,
21:04but really hasn't been a viable threat to do anything
21:08since Tom Brady was here in 2019.
21:10Even Brady, after that team started 8-0, said,
21:13yeah, we kind of suck.
21:14And so sure enough, they go down in round one against the Titans.
21:17This team on the map, tied for the top of the conference
21:21with the Denver Broncos, tied for the top of the NFL for that matter.
21:24And so that coupled with Mike Vrabel,
21:26who obviously is the coach of the year favorite,
21:28coming in, changing the culture.
21:30People are going to look at Vrabel.
21:31They're going to look at May.
21:32Both really likable guys.
21:34The Patriots are suddenly going to be on the right end of a story
21:36that for decades they were on the wrong side of as the villains of the league.
21:40And there's going to, the tide has turned a little bit.
21:43People are going to look at this and say,
21:44division leader, maybe conference leader,
21:47first round by, great talent with very little around him offensively
21:51that he is lifting up on a weekly basis.
21:54And I think people are going to feed into the narratives
21:56to where it's a very real possibility.
21:58Is it a landslide?
21:59Of course not.
22:00But when it comes to winning the conference
22:02or more to the point, winning the division right now,
22:04that last win by the Bills against the Buccaneers was necessary.
22:09You know, you can't, if you're Buffalo,
22:11fall three games back in the win column against New England
22:13with a head-to-head still to come in a few weeks in Foxborough.
22:17And so the Bills needed that game emphatically.
22:19They go out, they get it, obviously.
22:21The division is still very much a fight against Cincinnati.
22:24Here's where arrogance comes into play.
22:26And I am guilty of this.
22:27The Patriots should slaughter the Bengals,
22:31especially now that we're looking at Jamar Chase being suspended for a game.
22:35Where I say arrogance comes into play,
22:37as I look at it, I'm kind of disappointed that Chase is out.
22:41Cincinnati is a vastly inferior team, obviously, without Joe Burrow.
22:44And I think it benefits a team like New England,
22:46who got torched by Drake London a couple weeks ago,
22:49to go against someone of the caliber of Jamar Chase.
22:52You don't have that if it's just Flacco throwing to Tee Higgins,
22:55you know, for the most part, and Chase Brown, I guess.
22:58You know, you want to make it a little more challenging, honestly,
23:02to try and get yourselves prepared for the playoffs.
23:04Most teams would be celebrating Jamar Chase,
23:07a top three, if not number one wide receiver across the NFL,
23:11not being available to play against them.
23:13I think it would actually benefit the Pats to see him out there.
23:16So, let me just say, no disrespect to Drake May
23:23and what he is doing with Josh McDaniel and company.
23:26Uh-oh, sounds like disrespect.
23:27Sounds like about to disrespect him.
23:29But I couldn't control myself from laughing
23:33because let's go over the schedule of who exactly Drake May has beaten,
23:38if we can.
23:39Oh, no.
23:39Las Vegas, Miami, Pittsburgh, Carolina, New Orleans, Tennessee, Cleveland,
23:47a dysfunctional Atlanta, the Jets.
23:50The single-handedly easiest group of teams to play.
23:56The single easiest group of offenses to go up against.
24:00Of course he's going to look like an MVP.
24:03They've played nobody.
24:05Absolutely nobody.
24:06So, my question is, when they actually step up and play a,
24:10oh, I don't know, let's say a Rams against Stafford
24:13or Seattle or Philadelphia,
24:17what is going to happen then with Drake May?
24:19I hope they play these teams
24:21because you're talking about a Super Bowl matchup.
24:23So, that sounds great.
24:24What happens when they play an elite defense?
24:27What happens when they play an elite defense?
24:29Is this a real question?
24:31Because they beat the Cleveland Browns,
24:32who had the number one defense in the NFL at the time,
24:34and then they beat the Atlanta Falcons,
24:36who had the number one defense in the league.
24:37Yeah, but they have no offense.
24:37Then they beat the Atlanta Falcons,
24:38who had the number one pass.
24:39If I can't score, if Cleveland can't score,
24:42then it doesn't matter what you do there.
24:44It doesn't make a difference.
24:45Who cares that Cleveland can't win against anybody?
24:50You can't tell me that Drake May is doing this
24:54against the best teams in the NFL.
24:55You can't tell me that this is so impressive.
24:58He's MVP-worthy, beating up on the lowest teams in the NFL.
25:02I think we can both cherry-pick this thing all we want
25:06because Drake May doesn't face offenses.
25:09He faced defenses,
25:10and he went against two top ones in Cleveland and Atlanta
25:12and beat them both.
25:14And if you want to say,
25:14well, what about a great offense?
25:16I'll sit here and say,
25:17well, they beat the Buffalo Bills,
25:18a top team in the AFC,
25:20and you know what you're going to say to me?
25:21Yeah, but the defense sucks.
25:23So, there's no perfect team out there.
25:26Patriots can only play the games on their schedule, man.
25:28Rocky versus Apollo Creed.
25:31Love it!
25:31Palmer.
25:32Palmer.
25:33Let's get you ready for the people,
25:35or excuse me,
25:35get you ready for the weekend, people.
25:37NFL style, NFL edition here.
25:40We got teams to look at.
25:41We got some props.
25:42We got also some sides, some totals,
25:44and that includes a game that's going to take place
25:46in the NFC North.
25:47It's the Minnesota Vikings.
25:49J.J. McCarthy booed at home,
25:51and rightfully so,
25:53with that game versus the Chicago Bears.
25:55He didn't look good early.
25:55He actually brought them back late for a touchdown,
25:57but a late field goal gave the Bears the victory.
25:59The Green Bay Packers,
26:01I guess they're getting booed soundly there.
26:03They should have gotten booed in the Meadowlands.
26:05They almost lost to Janus Winston
26:06and the New York Giants,
26:07but they pulled out that victory,
26:08and now they head home back to Lambeau.
26:10Six-and-a-half point favorite now
26:12for the Green Bay Packers over Minnesota,
26:14and a total very low, Joe.
26:16Some markets as low as 40-and-a-half right now
26:19in this football game.
26:20Is Green Bay going to walk over this game?
26:22We don't even know if they're going to have
26:22the starting running back back there.
26:24They have struggled on offense.
26:25Or J.J. McCarthy,
26:27he's just not ready for prime time.
26:30Yeah, I mean, not good here at all, Donnie,
26:34for this Green Bay team.
26:36You have to worry.
26:37I mean, the last couple of games
26:38that they played, you know, at home,
26:41they were favorites,
26:43and then they lose both of those games outright.
26:46They have no wide receivers
26:48who can gain any separation at all.
26:50No defenses fear anybody they have.
26:53The Vikings defense and Brian Flores
26:56certainly aren't going to be worried about that.
26:59And the one thing we know about Jordan Love
27:01is that if you pressure him,
27:04things go sideways.
27:06No running back.
27:07No terrible matchup.
27:10And the problem is,
27:10do we trust McCarthy enough
27:12to be able to score in this game
27:14in order to get it done?
27:16I feel like this is an under waiting to happen, Donnie.
27:19I don't trust either offense here.
27:21I think the under might be the best look in this game.
27:24It could be 41 and a half, too.
27:26So that game will be in Green Bay on Sunday at 1 o'clock.
27:28Let's go to another 1 o'clock game here
27:30in the Sunday marketplace.
27:31It's the New York Giants,
27:32and it's the Detroit Lions.
27:34You see this line, Joe, was 9 and a half.
27:35It's 10 to 10 and a half,
27:36even some 11s now in the marketplace,
27:38and a total of 50 and a half.
27:41But we do have some news
27:42coming out of Giants' land here.
27:44And I know you can't keep him on the bench
27:46for the rest of the year
27:47because if he's cleared by medical doctors,
27:49he's going to play.
27:49Otherwise, the NFL starts to have an issue
27:51with stuff like this.
27:52But Jackson Dart will be back at practice today
27:54with the expectation
27:55he will have a chance to return on Sunday.
27:58I'm telling you right now,
28:00I've ripped the Bozo Mara family multiple times.
28:04They're one of the worst run organizations
28:05over the past five to six years,
28:07and it's not even close.
28:08Horrible general managers,
28:10horrible head coaches here.
28:11Make the right decision.
28:13Again, you're not going to sit Dart
28:14to the rest of the rest
28:15and say, oh, we'll see him next year.
28:17Give him an extra couple weeks,
28:18and I know they have to be smart enough, Joe,
28:20to do that.
28:21If I see Jackson Dart practicing this week,
28:24which is just fine,
28:25get him back on the field with the guys,
28:26run some plays here,
28:28he can't start in Detroit.
28:29An angry Detroit team
28:31with some dudes like Aiden Hutchinson
28:33are going to crush the quarterback
28:35to get out their frustrations
28:36on their loss against the Eagles.
28:38Give him at least one more week, Joe.
28:40So I'll ask you this question.
28:41You see that line at double digits now.
28:43Should Jackson Dart play in this game
28:45for the New York Giants?
28:47No, I don't see any reason
28:49why he should continue to go out there.
28:51I mean, if there is a question
28:53in any way, shape, or form that's safe,
28:55I think Jameis showed us,
28:57and this is what we had been saying
28:59for a couple of weeks,
29:00is that, you know, quietly,
29:02I'm pretty sure everyone in that locker room
29:04thought Jameis gave him the best option
29:06throwing the ball, right?
29:09And he showed that in that game
29:11against a top defense
29:13in the Green Bay Packers here.
29:15So, yes, I mean, it's not,
29:17I do think that Detroit's defense
29:19is probably of that same caliber,
29:21but why would you want to risk it here
29:24at this point?
29:25It's one thing, hey,
29:26the next game's against Cincinnati.
29:28Sure, bring them back.
29:29We're not really worried
29:30about the Cincinnati defense
29:32and the damage they can do,
29:34but you better be worried
29:35what the Detroit defense can do.
29:37If there's any questions,
29:39just hold off.
29:40I mean, there's no rush
29:41to bring him back at this point.
29:43Seattle defense, Joe,
29:44this past weekend against the Rams
29:45had a tough start,
29:46but really clamped in late
29:47and gave them a chance
29:48to win that football game.
29:49I feel sorry this weekend
29:51because the Tennessee Titans
29:52are going to take on Seattle.
29:53They're looking to take out
29:54some frustration.
29:55They have a defense
29:56that can get after the quarterback.
29:57They have an offense
29:58that Sam Darnold
29:59threw four interceptions last weekend.
30:00They still almost won a football game
30:02against one of the better teams
30:03in the NFL.
30:04If Sam Darnold cleans up
30:05his interceptions this weekend
30:06and doesn't turn the football over,
30:08sky could be the limit.
30:10This is a 13 and a half
30:11point spread across,
30:12but a 40 and a half total,
30:14which tells you
30:14Seattle will be doing the scoring.
30:16Seattle will be playing
30:17really good defense in this one.
30:18Do you like taking
30:19two touchdown favorites
30:20on the road?
30:21Probably not.
30:22But if you're looking
30:23at prop bets in this one,
30:24Seattle probably has some guys
30:25you want to get after.
30:26Jackson Smith and Jigba,
30:27you know he's probably
30:28going to have a big day.
30:29Multiple rushing touchdowns,
30:30probably there.
30:31Sam Darnold saying,
30:32let me get those feel good vibes
30:33back so we can maybe chase down
30:34the leaders there
30:35in the NFC West.
30:36Maybe so.
30:37Good luck, Tennessee,
30:38this weekend, Joe.
30:40So this is historically,
30:42Donnie,
30:42at least from 2020,
30:44not been a very profitable
30:47look here
30:48by laying this kind of number
30:51with a road favorite.
30:53In fact,
30:54favorites of 11
30:55or more on the road,
30:57just three and seven
30:58against the number.
30:59Maybe even more scary
31:00is the fact that
31:01they're five and five
31:02straight up in those games.
31:04So this has not been
31:06a profitable spot
31:07to look to Seattle
31:08and be like,
31:09oh, yeah,
31:09they're going to run up.
31:11That tends to be
31:12when teams maybe
31:13get a little comfortable
31:14and Seattle goes,
31:15you know what?
31:16We're going to just run this.
31:17Nah, this is,
31:19I wouldn't be running
31:20to the window
31:20and laying this
31:21with Seattle.
31:22They've been good.
31:23They're eight and two
31:23on a year,
31:24but history tells us,
31:25yeah,
31:26this is a sleepy spot
31:27here for Seattle.
31:29If you're,
31:29if you were looking at
31:30like saying you wanted
31:31to take Seattle
31:32and full game,
31:32they should,
31:33they should really
31:33beat up Tennessee,
31:34but still in the NFL,
31:35it's 14 points,
31:36which means you're down
31:3717 late.
31:39Hey,
31:39we can get inside
31:39that number.
31:40Would you take Seattle
31:41if you wanted to the angle
31:42in the first half
31:43and let you say
31:43minus nine?
31:45What would the spread
31:46be at the half?
31:46It's got to be eight
31:47and a half or nine
31:47and a half,
31:48right?
31:48Seattle by double digits
31:49at the break.
31:50It's sort of close
31:50to a victory.
31:52Well,
31:53that's what you've
31:53got to hope for,
31:54right?
31:54That would be the only way
31:55I would,
31:56I would play it,
31:57but you know,
31:58they got Jeffrey Simmons
31:59back last week.
32:00They got healthier
32:01on defense,
32:02Tennessee,
32:02and they were flying
32:04all over the field.
32:05Don't think for one minute
32:06at all,
32:07like Tennessee doesn't know
32:08they're a two touchdown
32:09dog in their own
32:10building here.
32:11So it's not like
32:12they're going to roll
32:13over for Seattle.
32:15It's a tough spot.
32:16I wouldn't be running
32:16to the window
32:17laying in full game,
32:19but I think you're right,
32:19Donnie.
32:20Maybe even first quarter
32:21might not be a bad look.
32:23Oh,
32:23we got the bait and switch
32:24coming up next year.
32:24Jacksonville Jaguars
32:25on the road to take
32:26on the Arizona Cardinals.
32:28You take a look at
32:28before that game
32:28was played on Sunday.
32:30The favorite
32:30was actually Arizona
32:31minus one and a half.
32:32That's no longer the case.
32:33Jacksonville played
32:34very well at home
32:35and absolutely clowned
32:36the Chargers.
32:37They're going to go
32:38on the road
32:38as two and a half point
32:39favorites in a total
32:39of 47 and a half.
32:41Usually when you look
32:42at Jacksonville,
32:43you're not in love
32:43with over games,
32:44but it just feels like
32:45what Arizona presents
32:46themselves with.
32:47Jacoby was at a quarterback.
32:48It's like,
32:48all right,
32:49weapons or no weapons,
32:50we are throwing the football
32:52all over the place,
32:53which could mean a lot
32:54of sacks for Jacksonville,
32:55but also a lot of points
32:56in this game too.
32:57Do you just continue
32:57to run down that path
32:59of Arizona will throw
33:00the football
33:00and not stop anybody
33:01and this should be
33:02a good over?
33:04Yeah.
33:05Listen,
33:05Jacksonville has been
33:06surprisingly good
33:08out West
33:09when they go there
33:10and at least
33:11over the last three years,
33:13I think they're
33:133-0 straight up
33:15and they put up
33:15about 31 or 32 points
33:18per game here.
33:18So it's a rollercoaster
33:20with Jacksonville though,
33:22isn't it?
33:22And same thing
33:23with Arizona,
33:24like which way,
33:25what version
33:26of these teams
33:27are we going to get
33:28and how is Jacoby percent
33:29even lifting his arm
33:31after the amount
33:32of passes he had
33:33last week?
33:3347 completions.
33:35Dude,
33:36at 47 completions
33:38last week.
33:39Let's see,
33:39what does Arizona
33:40have to lose?
33:41You're also talking
33:41about Jonathan Gannon
33:42up there answering questions.
33:43Hey, buddy,
33:44you know,
33:44you're in a hot seat.
33:45It's like,
33:45well,
33:45I can't hire
33:46and fire myself.
33:47So we're just going
33:48to play this thing out.
33:49Let's see how this thing
33:50does play out
33:50with Jacksonville
33:51and Arizona.
33:51Good football card
33:52that's going to play out
33:53all across that landscape.
33:55By the way,
33:55Joe,
33:55we do take a look sometimes.
33:57We're not going to have
33:57to go over the games,
33:58but the NFL usually
33:59lines it up by saying,
34:00all right,
34:01we're going to give you
34:01something special
34:02in each hour per se.
34:04The four o'clock games,
34:05Jacksonville,
34:06Arizona,
34:07Cleveland,
34:07Las Vegas,
34:09Atlanta,
34:09and New Orleans,
34:10and then finally
34:11Philadelphia and Dallas.
34:13My goodness.
34:14Spread out the wealth,
34:15man.
34:16Hopefully that Dallas
34:17game is going to be
34:18good against the Eagles
34:18because the rest of them,
34:19Joe,
34:20oof.
34:22Well,
34:22and it's so funny
34:23because now we've got
34:25New Orleans as a home
34:26favorite.
34:27So that's going to be
34:27interesting as if for
34:29no other reason that
34:30are they worthy of being
34:32this kind of flip
34:33and a home favorite.
34:34We're going to find out
34:35rather quickly in that
34:36game with Kirk Cousins.
34:37Thank goodness for betting
34:38as they say,
34:39like,
34:39oh,
34:39betting's so bad.
34:40What would the NFL
34:41be doing on Sunday?
34:42You'd be watching
34:43the Indianapolis Colts
34:44and the Kansas City Chiefs,
34:45and then you'd be
34:46watching the Philadelphia
34:46Eagles and the Cowboys
34:47and nothing till late
34:49night,
34:49820 p.m.
34:51Come on,
34:52man.
34:52Legalized gambling's
34:53the way to do it,
34:53people.
