00:00Jets head coach Aaron Glenn has switched things up, and he's named a starting quarterback going into their Week 12 game against the Baltimore Ravens.
00:08Justin Fields has been benched, and Glenn has now given the keys to the offense to Tyrod Taylor.
00:13You know what? Honestly, I think this move should have been made after the loss to the Broncos out in London,
00:19or Glenn should have at least let these two dudes battle it out from that point on.
00:24But you know what? The decision was finally made.
00:26And Justin Fields hasn't looked good or even looked comfortable in the offense or with himself
00:32since the Week 1 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers when they hung up 32 on the Steelers' defense.
00:38He's misreading coverages, he's not seeing the field, or he's just bailing out of the pocket before letting route concepts develop.
00:46And the numbers don't lie either. He's completing 62.7% of his passes, yeah,
00:51but only for 1,259 yards and seven touchdowns after nine starts in their Week 11 loss to the Patriots.
00:59He was 15 for 26 for $1.16. He threw one touchdown, but he also lost a fumble.
01:05They now make the switch 12 weeks into the season after they signed him to a two-year, $40 million contract back in free agency.
01:13Now, Tyrod Taylor, he's been somewhat better in limited action.
01:17He's thrown for 379 yards, three touchdowns, but three interceptions as well.
01:23And I wonder how much owner Woody Johnson had to say in the decision because, remember,
01:27he called out Justin Fields in his play a couple of weeks ago.
01:31Now, I respect Aaron Glenn for protecting Fields against the media and sticking with his quarterbacks 12 weeks into the season.
01:39But honestly, it's just too late for the switch.
01:42We heard the reports in the spring about Fields and the offense looking pretty bad,
01:46and then we saw it for ourselves in training camp and then in this season.
01:50Tyrod Taylor now gets to start down in Baltimore against the Raiders.
