A 17-year-old boy has been stabbed outside the Bullring in Birmingham city centre, with three teenagers now charged and remanded in custody. The attack comes days after the fatal stabbing of Katie Fox and recent fireworks disorder, piling pressure on police as they roll out extra patrols through the city’s busiest shopping and night-time streets.

00:01Police were called to disorder outside the bullring just after 8 on a Thursday evening,
00:07where a 17-year-old boy had been stabbed near the bull statue.
00:11He was taken to hospital and officers say his injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.
00:17Even so, it was a knife attack in the city's main shopping zone.
00:21Detectives reviewed CCTV and spoke to witnesses through the night.
00:25Three suspects are now charged, 18-year-old Musa Gul and Zayn Hussein and a 15-year-old boy who cannot be named.
00:32They are accused of wounding with intent a fry and carrying a knife and have been remanded to Birmingham Magistrates Court.
00:39Two of the men aged 18 and 22 were arrested and later bailed with strict conditions.
00:45This follows the fatal stabbing of 34-year-old Katie Fox on Smallbrook Queensway less than a week ago
00:52and fireworks disorder across New Street and Dale End on Halloween.
00:57Police say these incidents are separate but accept the run of violence has unsettled workers, shoppers and the night-time trade.
