British Transport Police say a twenty six year old woman has been charged with manslaughter and a racially aggravated public order offence. Dorothy Chiles died weeks after an assault at Birmingham New Street station.

00:06assaulted at Birmingham New Street Station. British Transport Police say officers were
00:11called to the concourse on the morning of 19 November 2024, where Miss Childs was found
00:19critically injured after the reported assault. She underwent surgery for a fractured hip,
00:24was discharged from hospital on the 2nd of December and died at home on the 27th of December.
00:31Charlie Lane, 26, of Gloucester also faces a racially aggravated public order charge
00:36and is due before Cheltenham Magistrates Court for a hearing on the 30th of April.
