00:00People are wondering, has a deal been done between you and Andy Burnham that maybe he'll be leader and you'd
00:04get a good role in his cabinet, or vice versa, you'd be leader, he could be, I don't know, Chancellor.
00:10Has a deal been done between the two of you at all?
00:12No. I just think that we should all be working together. I think that's the important thing. I'm not doing
00:17deals or anything like that.
00:19I want us to get on with the job of actually delivering for the people of this country, and they're
00:24getting pretty fed up with the idea that people are jostling for this, that, the other.
00:30They want to see us, understanding how difficult life's got for them.
00:34Andy Burnham was pictured at your house fairly recently. What were you talking about?
00:39He does come round occasionally. We were actually talking about, Jim McMahon came round as well, the MP for Oldham,
00:46and we were talking about the number of car accidents. We've had a number of fatality car accidents within Greater
00:53Manchester and within our patches recently,
00:55and that was one of the things I was talking about.
00:58What about Andy Burnham's ambitions?
00:59And also the anniversary of the Manchester Arena attack that is coming up as well and what we're going to
01:07do to recognise that.
01:08And leadership and potentially a pact between you? Did that come up?
01:12There was no talking about a pact between us. We were getting on with the job. He's the mayor of
01:17Greater Manchester.
01:18I do speak to MPs, I speak to council leaders, and I speak to the mayor of Greater Manchester about
01:23the things that affect my constituents.
01:25Thank you, Jim.
