00:08having shadowed his brother Shah Helmi Yahya when he was the Assemblyman.
00:14Shah Elfi, 39, was previously Shah Helmi's Special Officer managing the state constituency
00:19and often looked after the development and welfare of the constituents.
00:24Born and bred in Tanjung Keramat, he was also a councillor under the Putatan District Council,
00:30which gave him the opportunity to get close with the people.
00:33He said all these experiences have allowed him to understand governance structures,
00:38the economic needs of Putatan, and how to serve the people well.
00:43Shah Helmi, who won the seat for UMNO in the 2020 state election
00:47and was suspended from the party in January 2023
00:50for refusing to withdraw support for Chief Minister Haji J. Noor,
00:55opted to sit out this year's polls,
00:56as contesting under another party would have forced him to vacate his Putatan parliamentary seat
01:02under the anti-hopping law.
01:05In this state election, Shah Elfi and 10 others are vying to replace Shah Helmi
01:10as the next Tanjung Keramat Assemblyman,
01:12with his most prominent rivals being Sabah UMNO Election Director Jeffrey Noor Mohamad
01:17and Warisan Youth Deputy Chief Firdaus Diun.
