00:00UMNO President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said that 10 of the 11 polling stations in Arikuning,

00:08the party lost at the 2022 general election, had returned to Barisan National's fold at the

00:15by-election today. Zahid said the return of these polling stations was the icing on the cake

00:21following BN's victory tonight. He said the win proved that the people rejected the politics of

00:29hate and voted for stability and development. The BN chairman said he believed the coalition's

00:35victory would carry on the legacy left by Isham Sharodin, whom he said was a dedicated

00:41assemblyman. BN candidate Yusri Bakir won the by-election with a 5,006-vote majority after

00:49securing 11,065 votes. Paragmentary Besar Sarani Mohammed said BN failed to achieve its target

00:59of 18,000 votes due to the low voter turnout of 58.07%.
