00:07battling it out alabama opened as a six and a half point home favorite we're seeing five and

00:12a half creep into the market oklahoma fighting for their college football playoff lives coach

00:18they won this matchup last year in norman shut down jalen milro and the alabama offense dominated

00:24that game as a 14 and a half point home dog they won it 24 to 3 they held the crimson tie without a

00:31touchdown can they do it again on the road in tuscaloosa i think it's a different team i think

00:37alabama has got a lot of confidence right now um their quarterback is a different type of quarterback

00:42but i think he's a winner i think he's he's a pocket passer who understands football got a great

00:48football like you dad's the head coach he viewed t martin uh been around in all his life i really

00:53like their quarterback uh they are a one-dimensional team i think venables can usually handle a one

00:59dimension team except that i think oklahoma is kind of a one-dimensional offense as well so it's

01:04going to be a battle of who can put the best numbers up there on offense that's why i just think alabama

01:09will be able to do a little bit more offensively than oklahoma will do uh but as i've said all week

01:16or all three weeks alabama somewhere is going to end is going to exit the playoffs early because they

01:21can't run the football what's about 213 uh a game about 13 a game they're doing right now

01:26and uh they may be able to pull this one off but i'm gonna tell you if they lose to oklahoma it'll

01:31be because they are a one-dimensional team and venables was able to focus on getting to that

01:36quarterback well two things to your point about you know their inefficiency running the football

01:42alabama has one of the worst rushing outputs prior to 2016 averaging around 111

01:48yards per game uh only about 3.4 yards per carry uh jam miller their leading rusher only has about

01:56340 rushing yards on the year we think about the dominance of alabama running backs in recent years

02:03josh jacobs derrick henry and some of the greats right uh they were able to ground and pound with

02:08the best of them and when you look at the front seven for oklahoma coach 82 rushing yards allowed

02:14one of the best rush defenses in the conference holding opposing offenses to only 2.4 yards per

02:20carry they've only allowed four rushing touchdowns on the year and coach they're coming out of a

02:25bye week how important is that for oklahoma and the defense of brett venables going on the road

02:31well i don't think there's anybody better than brett venables i know i did i was an analyst at

02:36clemson when he was there and i watched him at work and he will leave no stone unturned in breaking

02:42down the tendencies of alabama and what they like to do and what what brett venables is very good at

02:48he has a different blitz for every game what you saw last week he will not come at you this week

02:53he'll find a way to get to that quarterback so again he's got an extra week you'll see some wrinkles

02:58it may be a slow start for alabama but ty simpson is a smart guy he's got a great iq great football iq

03:05he's got great wide outs as long as he's getting rid of that ball early early in the game he's got to

03:10get the ball out of his hands if he'll do that the opposite line will gradually get used to seeing

03:15what they're coming at him with uh and i'm just thinking ty simpson does not turn the ball over

03:19you know that's the one thing if he were to continue to do what he's doing not turn the ball over and

03:24he's got two great wide receivers that are going to make plays they'll make just enough plays to get

03:29about a seven point lead in that game and hold on to it uh but it's going to be without them running

03:34the football i'll tell you i wouldn't it wouldn't shock me if innables shut them down i like oklahoma

03:40in the matchup i'm calling for the upset i'll take the five and a half i'll take the 172 on the money

03:45line backs against the wall they were able to get the victory a couple weeks ago against tennessee
