00:00Tennessee still on the outside looking into that big SEC chase.
00:03Man, this would go a long way for them.
00:05They're three-and-a-half-point favorites at home
00:07against the Sooners who are coming off a home loss at Norman,
00:11which is always kind of rare.
00:13Total of 55-and-a-half.
00:15We know the Vols can sling it and they can score points.
00:19Can Oklahoma match them in this Saturday night showdown?
00:23Well, I'm not sure that they can, Craig.
00:25You know, when I look at this Oklahoma team,
00:27I see a team that perhaps did its best work early.
00:31I think they're playing with a quarterback who's at something less than 100%.
00:36And in hindsight, the Sooners, they ascended all the way to number five
00:40in the AP poll at the end of September.
00:43And I'm not sure the Sooners were ever quite that good.
00:46They got the reputation and earned that spot in the poll
00:49based on home victories in September over Michigan and Auburn.
00:53And if you'll recall, Michigan, they were starting a true freshman
00:56and a very talented true freshman in Bryce Underwood.
00:59But he was making his first-ever road start
01:02against that Sooner defense that is quite salty
01:05and only his second career start ever.
01:09So that was a difficult situation for the young Wolverine signal caller.
01:13And then against Auburn, the Sooners used the old hideout play.
01:17And SEC officials had spoke and communicated with coaches
01:21and ADs throughout the summer that,
01:24man, we're going to be looking for this.
01:25We're not going to tolerate it.
01:26Don't even try to do it.
01:28And they did it, and they didn't call it.
01:30So maybe Oklahoma would have won anyway.
01:33But the SEC office the next day admitted that that score should have been nullified.
01:39So this is an Oklahoma team that I think is heavily relying on an outstanding defense.
01:44It's an Oklahoma team.
01:46Interestingly, at least from my perspective,
01:48that since joining the SEC prior to the 2024 season,
01:52they have yet to score more than 27 points in an SEC game.
01:56So still looking to bust 27 points.
01:59Mateer, since coming back from his surgery that occurred there on September 24th,
02:05the three-game sense against Texas, Ole Miss,
02:09and then this past weekend in those three games,
02:13actually Texas, South Carolina, and Ole Miss in that order,
02:16he's only hit 55 of 95 passes, so only 58% for 575 yards,
02:22only 6.1 yards in the temp.
02:24Two touchdowns only in those three games against the three interceptions
02:27he threw in the Texas loss.
02:30Tennessee seems to be gaining momentum.
02:32The passing game really rolling under Joey Aguilar.
02:36I think Tennessee wins this one by a touchdown or so,
02:39giving the volunteers minus the points over the Sooners.
