00:00Let's take a look at the NBA tonight, 9.30 tip time.
00:02The Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs in San Antonio.
00:05You might say to yourself, like, wait a second, did we just see that?
00:07Yeah, we did.
00:08That's a scheduling quirk in the NBA where Golden State just got the hang around San Antonio.
00:12You want to talk about rested and ready for this game?
00:14Both of these participants should be there.
00:16Two thirty-five and a half as a total.
00:18Two and a half point favorite for the Spurs who just a couple games ago were four and a half point favorites here
00:23when Golden State was coming out of Oklahoma City on a back-to-back spread line tonight in the NBA.
00:27Golden State and San Antonio is what?
00:31Well, by the way, that's the Raptors and Cavs line from last night,
00:34which we told you to back Toronto in the seven and a half, and they did cover that.
00:38But you're right, Donnie.
00:39This is, we just saw this with Cleveland and Miami, right?
00:42Where it was two games in three days.
00:44This is NBA Cup action here tonight.
00:48You got to think, now, San Antonio had that game in hand except for a terrible third quarter
00:53in which Steph Curry did his thing.
00:55Does that happen again here tonight?
00:58I don't think so.
00:59It's a football Friday, but we got to talk some basketball here on the early line on the Sports Grid Network,
01:04Donnie Wrightside and Joe Raniere.
01:06But, Joe, before we get to some of these other topics here,
01:08big news that did come down yesterday.
01:10Steph Curry leaving Under Armour in a mutual agreement and now a shoe-free agent here in the marketplace.
01:16That seemed to take more of a precedent than any games that were on the court.
01:19Were you shocked to see Steph as a free agent?
01:22And does he go to Nike or just does he go his own route at this point, do you think?
01:27Well, I don't know.
01:28That whole industry has changed over the years.
01:30But he was with them.
01:31What I couldn't believe is that he was with Under Armour for 12 years.
01:35Can you believe that?
01:3712 years he was with them.
01:39I mean, it didn't feel that long because I believe that was the big Under Armour when they got Steph Curry away from Nike.
01:46Then that was really what launched the Under Armour situation here, certainly in the shoe market.
01:52But like anything else, I mean, he'd been around since 2013.
01:56Like, that's just crazy to me.
01:58Yeah, it feels like the Steph Curry shoes are the ones that end up at like Burlington Coat Factory and like TJ Maxx.
02:04I've never seen a single person wear Under Armour sneakers anytime, anywhere, any shape, any form.
02:09So Steph's got plenty of money.
02:11He'll probably get more with a new shoe deal from somebody else, and we'll see how it goes.
02:14Maybe a new shoe deal here for Brunson because he injured his ankle, but it's only a grade one ankle sprain.
02:20Good to get re-evaluated here.
02:21Good news, if there is any, for getting an injury here for the Knicks star.
02:25Yeah, no, that is good news for them, although I don't know that that's going to help them tonight here
02:32because they take on the Miami Heat and the NBA Cup.
02:35But listen, the sooner they can get him back out there, the better off the Knicks are going to be.
02:41You do not want him missing extended periods of time.
02:45But now that you know he's got an issue with the ankle, it's absolutely worth monitoring moving forward.
02:50Yay, the NBA Cup. Get excited, people, huh?
02:55You know what else we can get excited for here? Zion.
02:57Hey, rinse and repeat. Hey, where's Zion at?
02:59Oh, he's rehabbing a hamstring injury. He's injured again, and maybe he's going to come back.
03:04But starting to get back on the court? Endless, man.
03:07Like, cut your bait, New Orleans. Do whatever you have to do.
03:11Ship him off to the Lakers for a third-round pick because he'll never play for the Lakers either.
03:14One of those players that we were so excited to see what he can do in the NBA, and when he gets out there, he is exciting.
03:21But, Joe, he's never out there. So it's not exciting.
03:25No, it's not, Donnie. And as sure as I'm sitting here, at some point, there will be a setback on his, you know, on-court, you know, workouts here.
03:34And then we probably won't see him, maybe, for a very long time in a New Orleans jersey because maybe, just maybe, they'll trade him finally.
03:41How about Paulo Bancaro here for the Lando Magic? He's down with a groin injury.
03:46He'll be re-evaluated here, but he will be out against Brooklyn tonight.
03:49And I guess that is a cup game tonight without Paulo.
03:54Yeah, and where are the points coming without Paulo? I'm just curious there, Orlando.
03:59You might have to go back to being, oh, I don't know, a really defensive team.
04:05That first one to 100 wins, but we'll see how that works out for him.
04:08How about working out tonight, Joe? You're Miami Heat in town in the most famous arena, and that is Madison Square Garden.
04:15The Heat take on the Knicks as five-and-a-half-point underdogs and a high total of 237-and-a-half.
04:21Miami in town in NYC.
04:24Yeah, should be a good one, but no Brunson here.
04:27And you gotta think, Miami was not happy in that last game that they lost to the backups of the Cavs at home.
04:36And they've all been talking about it over the last couple of days, too.
04:39So, I'm expecting a big effort from Miami, and I'm also expecting a ton of points in this game.
04:46Nothing like a Sixers-Pistons game.
04:49Get the superstars out on the court and then go, well, I don't even know if many superstars are going to play in this game.
04:54Welcome to the NBA in November.
04:56Seven-point line down to five-and-a-half as a favorite now for the Pistons.
05:00Well, we saw Detroit sit everybody a couple of games ago, Donnie.
05:04We gave them out here on the show against the Bulls, and their backups beat the starters of the Chicago Bulls.
05:11But it does look like they'll have Cunningham and Duren back, and Tobias Harris looks like he's close.
05:17So, they'll have their full complement on this court here tonight.
05:22But, like you said, with Philadelphia, those five guys are getting an awful lot of minutes through the start of the season.
05:30I mean, Edgeco, Maxie, how many minutes?
05:33These guys are averaging 35 or more minutes a game here.
05:37Are they burning out the Sixers here, Donnie, is my question.
05:42How about this?
05:43Are the Lakers going to take their game seriously tonight against the Pelicans?
05:46It's roughly a 10-point line here with a heavy favor in public tickets towards the Lakers, Joe.
05:52Hint, hint.
05:53We'll have some action at the end of the show.
05:54But the Lakers by double digits here, huh?
05:57I don't know.
05:58I mean, the Lakers looked atrocious against OKC last game out there as they got absolutely waxed.
06:03But, you know, New Orleans has actually been at least somewhat competitive at home here.
06:10They may not win this game, but I don't know if they're getting blown out either.
06:14And, by the way, there is a festive atmosphere tonight in Dallas.
06:16Maybe no more fire Nico chants.
06:19How about that?
06:19The wave here for the Mavericks in a new hour coming up next.
06:22Hey, now, it's Friday, bounce-back day for the boys.
06:32You got college football.
06:34You got college basketball.
06:35You got hockey.
06:36You got NBA.
06:37Joe, show us the way.
06:39Where are we going tonight?
06:41Well, bounce-back it is here, Donnie.
06:44And I think that's exactly what's going to happen with the San Antonio Spurs tonight.
06:48At home, playing one of these, you know, mini-double-headers that the NBA is utilizing now.
06:55It's the Golden State Warriors, who just came to their house a couple of nights ago.
07:00And, you know, when we got a triple-double, Castle triple-double, I mean, they're very young.
07:06They're very talented.
07:07They're very athletic.
07:08But Golden State has done what they have done to many teams over the last decade and a half.
07:13And that's, they came out firing in the third quarter and erased all the good that the Spurs did.
07:19Very difficult to do that two times in three days here.
07:24I think San Antonio bounces back like the youth, like the athleticism.
07:30I think they handled business tonight at a short number against the Golden State Warriors.
07:34For me, Joe, it's bet it, set it, and forget it.
07:37You might not want to watch this one because sometimes you get annihilated like I did last night,
07:41riding a public wave of non-support.
07:43And I'm going to do it again tonight.
07:44How about 75% of the tickets coming in on the Lakers as double-digit favorites against the Pelicans in New Orleans?
07:50I'm going to take the Pels with the ten and a half points tonight.
07:54And hopefully I wake up on Saturday morning a winner.
07:56But that'll do it for an exciting week here on the Sports Grid Network for the early line.
08:00Joe Ranieri and Donnie Wrightside.
08:02Win your wagers this weekend.
08:03Come back and talk about it with us early on Monday morning.
