Get ready for intensified joint training exercises! The Trinidad and Tobago Defense Force and U.S. Southern Command are teaming up from November 16th to 21st, 2025, in a powerful display of partnership and readiness.

These exercises are a key part of a long-standing collaboration aimed at enhancing the capabilities of Trinidad and Tobago's personnel to address domestic challenges like gun-related crimes and gang violence. The focus is on familiarizing personnel with each other's equipment, tactics, and techniques in diverse environments.

The U.S. Embassy will also be engaging with local schools, building on previous donations of equipment and resources, and infrastructure improvements, further strengthening the bonds between the two nations. This collaboration exemplifies mutual respect and a shared commitment to security.

00:00United States Southern Command, or U.S. South Com, will engage in training exercises together
00:06from the 16th to the 21st of November, 2025. This upcoming activity forms part of our long-standing
00:14history of collaboration between the Trinidad and Tobago Defense Force and the U.S. military.
00:20Trinidad and Tobago continues, unfortunately, to be burdened by the scourge of gun-related
00:26crimes and gang violence. These intensified exercises form part of our coordinated strategy
00:34to ensure that our personnel are optimally trained and equipped to address these issues
00:40in our domestic environment, which have taken a tremendous toll on our society. The government,
00:46in our manifesto, promised to return order to Trinidad and Tobago, and this is exactly what
00:54we are doing. That being said, the focus of the military-to-military engagements, allowing
01:02personnel from both countries to become familiar with each other's equipments, tactics, and
01:07techniques. The exercise will challenge the participants, offering them opportunities to
01:13expand their expertise and professional development. Training will take place across Trinidad and
01:19Tobago in both urban and rural environments, with operations scheduled during dusk and after
01:26dark. And several of these exercises will incorporate the 22nd military expedition unit, marine expedition
01:34units, and also the marine expedition unit helicopters as well too. This is one of the many side-by-side
01:44exercises that the U.S. military has long conducted in partnership with the Trinidad and Tobago Defense
01:50Force. It demonstrates the strong partnership between Trinidad and Tobago and the United States,
01:56based on mutual respect, and is part of our long, fruitful, ongoing partnership with U.S. Southcom.
02:03During this period, the U.S. Embassy will also be engaging in outreach activities with various schools in Trinidad and Tobago.
02:10These visits follow the donation in September of computer equipment, office furniture, and educational
02:19resources by the U.S. Southcom through the U.S. Embassy, as well as infrastructure improvements carried out by U.S.
02:27Southcom's U.S. Naval Construction Battalion, Sailors, or as they are known, Navy CBs at the
02:35Locke Mubin Roman Catholic School.
