00:00Bert Breer, where, what did you make of Drake Mays performance last night?

00:05I think, like, it's, to me, like, now it's like what he's doing on third and long.

00:11And there was a second and 20 last night where they just so easily converted it.

00:18And he looks so calm and settled.

00:20And I think Josh McDaniels is doing a bonkers job with him.

00:26Like, just because I think there's the thing, of course, that Josh did with Mac a few years ago,

00:33which I'm sure he's doing now, which is he's in his ear until the 15-second cutoff.

00:37So he is, to some degree, reading the defense for him.

00:41I think what's impressive about it is just the way that they've been able to balance who he is as a playmaker

00:47and not take that away from him and get him playing fast while also having him growing within the offense.

00:57I mean, it's funny because Josh has done, there's been so much damage done when it comes to, like,

01:05Josh as an NFL head coach.

01:09And I'd still, like, look at this if I was another team and I'd be tempted to pick up the phone and call.

01:15You give him a third chance.

01:16Yeah, I mean, I just, there are so few guys that can develop the position at this level.

01:22And, you know, so I'm really impressed with Josh.

01:25He's done a phenomenal job.

01:27And Drake's natural ability is, obviously, speaks for itself.

01:31But it's not like, when you watch him play, it's not like, you know, you can see it.

01:36And I always hesitate with this stuff because you don't know what an offense is trying to do

01:41unless you're in the meetings and everything else.

01:43But, like, it's not like Drake is sitting back there and going one, two, three, four.

01:50Like, that part of the game, it's not there for him yet.

01:54Yet he's playing with patience in the pocket.

01:57He's able to allow things to develop.

02:00He doesn't ever look panicked.

02:02He looks under great control at all times.

02:05And I think the one thing that surprised the staff, because they knew what they were, like,

02:09part of the reason why Vrabel took this job was because of the presence of Drake May, right?

02:14I think one thing that kind of has surprised the people on, you know, Mike and the guys on the staff

02:20is just how good his instincts are.

02:22Like, that's what they didn't know.

02:23Like, that's what would be hard to know unless you were in it with him.

02:28But how good his feel and his instincts are, I think you can see that.

02:31And I just, I mean, he's a very real MVP candidate.

02:35I know people around here are back to the point where they're taking it as an insult,

02:39if you consider anybody else for these sorts of things.
