Another round of rain and snow is coming for upstate New York and New England this weekend.
Transcript
00:00We'll zoom in even further because you can see it's not everybody that camera view may be getting
00:04the break in the rain right now but more is on the way as this moves to the south and east. Let's
00:12zoom back out a little bit give you the bigger picture look at the region as a whole. Now somewhere
00:17like Boston we had some showers earlier but that seems to have really moved offshore but then take
00:23a look at where we have the snow. Well it's where you would expect yesterday was all about that
00:27transition from snow back to rain but in the Adirondacks the Green and White Mountains are
00:31higher elevations really that's where we're holding on to snow and that's what you would expect. Now
00:36we have the active snowfall there but let's talk about where we still have snow on the ground even
00:41if maybe you just saw rain for today. Well again it's where you would expect at the higher elevations
00:46but then also take a look at the other areas in relation to the Great Lakes. Downwind of Lake Erie
00:51where we got some of the heaviest bands of lake effect snow from our early week snow event you
00:56still have snow on the ground. A little bit in Indiana downwind of Lake Michigan there but
01:01it's going to start to fade more and more as time goes on here. We fast forward to tomorrow two things
01:07to talk about. I already mentioned the temperatures really north of Pennsylvania. We're still a bit
01:13cooler than we should be this time of year but we also have more of the wintry mix ahead tomorrow.
01:19Here's how it plays out on future radar. It's really not a lot. It's just enough that if you hit
01:23that exact right spot at the exact right time where the rain and little bit of snow mixed in
01:28is coming down it's just annoying. But take a look our next system is going to start to move in sooner
01:34rather than later. Saturday afternoon we start to get some of the rain into western New York, western
01:40Pennsylvania. The bulk of it comes later into the evening. Think 9 p.m. on really for most of us
01:45but the big story here is not the rain. It's the ice specifically for these areas highlighted in
01:51purple. We're talking freezing rain and we're talking an accumulation of ice that can create
01:55some really dangerous conditions.
