The middle of November is coming with winter weather for New England, as well as parts of Pennsylvania and New York.
Transcript
00:00We do have some snow showers up into parts of New England and northern New York State and also parts of the Catskills.
00:05Current temperatures, it's pretty nippy up there in Bangor, Maine, only 33 degrees, but a huge contrast.
00:11We're going to add 36 degrees to go from Bangor, Maine down to Louisville.
00:15We're at 69 right now in Louisville, Kentucky.
00:18Tomorrow, a warm one in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky.
00:21We'll talk about that in a little bit, but as the disturbance scoots in, we've got some showers,
00:25even a thunderstorm or two in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania.
00:28And again, that could impact the Notre Dame-Pitt game in Pittsburgh Saturday.
00:33Showers, even a thunderstorm or two.
00:35Very active wind from the southwest and south-southwest, driving temperatures into the low 60s.
00:39But lightning delays will be possible.
00:41Could be one of our weather impact games tomorrow.
00:44Meanwhile, in the northeastern part of the region, it's still cold.
00:48So as this system slides in, we're going to have some freezing rain in a few areas here in the Adirondacks,
00:53the Green and White Mountains, so look out for that.
00:55Future clouds and radars showing spotty downpours here and there.
00:59This becomes more expansive in the eastern part of Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey into Saturday evening.
01:04But with the cold air in place up in central and northern New England, we've got snow and ice for some.
01:08And then lake effect snow begins to set up shop.
01:11Maybe a mix of rain and snow transitioning over to lake effect snow by Sunday night.
01:15We've got a windy setup behind the front.
01:18Winds gusting 40 to 50 miles per hour for a lot of us.
01:20Some in the mountains, you can see gusts of 50-plus miles per hour and also immediately downwind of Lake Ontario.
01:27So Sunday, we've got a rain-snow mix building back into Buffalo.
01:30Showers exiting other areas.
01:32But we've got the Tampa Bay-Buffalo game in Orchard Park.
01:35Coming into the latter part of the game, we can see some rain and snow showers mixed with the beginning of that lake effect event.
01:40Pittsburgh on Sunday, not quite as warm, but drier out there.
01:44And then Sunday night football, Detroit at Philly, we're going to be dry and a little bit chilly there.
01:49But the lake effect snow Saturday, or I should say Sunday afternoon and Sunday night, picks up.
01:54And Anna, we're concerned about some snow squalls downwind of the lakes.
01:58We can see 1 to 3 and even 3 to 6 inches near Jamestown, New York, and Warren and Bradford, PA.
02:03Syracuse down into areas near Oneonta as well.
