00:00Alex, is there any concerns at all that you have for this game?
00:05I mean, not beyond the usual.
00:06It's a Thursday night game.
00:08That's always a little weird, the short week,
00:10especially after the Patriots playing such a physical game last week.
00:15You know, odd stuff happens in these games.
00:17Beyond that, you know, if it was Sunday at 1, I'd say not really, no.
00:22Okay, so I've been kicking this around for a couple of days
00:25because this is the first time in a few weeks
00:28where there hasn't been at least a couple of voices saying,
00:31ah, the Patriots could get popped here.
00:34You know, people said it about the Browns,
00:37certainly said it last week against Tampa Bay,
00:41like, you know, they could lose this one.
00:42Nobody says that about the Jets.
00:45So, in thinking about it more, Alex, I thought,
00:48well, if there's that one game every season
00:50where a team loses a game that they shouldn't,
00:54you know, is this the one?
00:55And then I thought, well, maybe that was the Raiders game.
00:57Does that count?
00:59If you lose the first game of the season,
01:01can it count as the one game for the season
01:03that you shouldn't lose but you lose anyway?
01:06Kind of.
01:06I mean, that's another game that's always weird.
01:09Look at the last two years for the Patriots.
01:11They beat the Bengals last year,
01:13and then they lose to the Raiders this year,
01:15which is looking like another one of those weird outcomes,
01:17one of those out-of-place outcomes.
01:19So, you know, I think you can count that.
01:21Some teams have more than one.
01:22It is usually that game, too, is a divisional game.
01:25We know even back in the day when the Patriots were rolling,
01:28they'd, you know, trip up against a bad Miami team
01:31or, you know, there were a couple years New York got them.
01:33It never really happened against Buffalo.
01:34But you look at what happened to the Bills last week
01:37down in Miami.
01:37Now, I think what helps the Patriots,
01:39that's often due to familiarity.
01:41And this is two coaching staffs that have never coached
01:44against each other, both in their first year.
01:46The Jets have turned over a ton of their roster,
01:48both in the last year and obviously in the last few weeks.
01:51So, as far as divisional games go,
01:54this is probably as unfamiliar as you're going to get.
01:56Even Drake May has really never played against the Jets.
01:59He played in garbage time in the first game last year.
02:02And in the second game, that was the game he had to miss most
02:04with the concussion.
