00:00Or is there any precedent for a team having like a really soft schedule, then getting into an environment that's a playoff environment against a very talented team and being kind of like, oh, like this is way different.
00:13I mean, a young team being in the playoffs is different anyway, but is there a disadvantage, any disadvantage to playing this easier schedule if you win the games?
00:25Yeah, I think so.
00:27And it's again, it's not like they didn't choose this.
00:29So when we talk about this as a negative, it's not a reflection on the Patriots.
00:33They're just doing this is a philosophical question.
00:35This has nothing to do with the Patriots.
00:37I'm not saying that to you.
00:38I'm saying that to everybody listening.
00:40Screw everyone who gets everybody listening.
00:42No, you're going to get defensive about asking if I'm not offensive.
00:46I'm not you.
00:47I'm supporting you.
00:49It was my question.
00:51If it's a good one, as a philosophy, it's the Patriots just happened to be in this situation.
00:56If it was Jacksonville, I'd ask the same question.
00:58If if you play these games against inferior competition, which is great that they're inferior.
01:06We did not know that going in, but you're playing these teams that are not the top of the league.
01:12If you think you are, is that a disadvantage going into the playoffs?
01:17Now, it's great.
01:18You're in the playoffs.
01:19If you're too dense to get this through your skulls out there and you're going to attack poor Andrew, who's obviously very gun shy.
01:29This is the question.
01:30So anyway, so you think maybe there is a point there.
01:32Think about this if we were at the draft, right?
01:34You're talking about an easy schedule.
01:36How about you play in Division II and there's this kid who is a quarterback who's slinging it around.
01:40He's completing 80 percent of his passes, got 40 touchdowns and five picks.
01:43You go, OK, but I don't know how good he is because I don't know the level of competition he faces.
01:50Show me that.
01:50That's the beauty of competition.
01:52How good is your good?
01:53I'll find out when you play someone who I know is good.
01:56The less you do that, the less I can learn about you.
01:59Whereas, look, the Chiefs are made, right?
02:01They're all made guys, and it's because of the history, but also they're playing a first-place schedule right now.
02:06So even if you're someone who's like, I just get the men in black, you know, snap, forget everything that happened before every season.
02:12History doesn't matter.
02:12It's about this season, this team, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
02:14You still feel good about them because of the teams they played or another team that's played a harder schedule.
02:18When you're the Patriots and you're a Division II prospect, to continue with the analogy, and you're just beating up on other bad teams, it's not even just a leap to D1.
02:27When I have to project you to go to the next level, like the playoffs and play these teams, can you win not just one game but two?
02:32I don't know yet because I just haven't seen you do it.
02:35I might believe, but that's a choice.
02:36It's not knowledge.
02:37It's not proof.
02:38Right.
02:38It's just, I mean, Washington beat the Lions last year, you know, so I'm not saying that it's impossible, but it's just interesting that your young team,
02:48so many of these kids' first experience in the playoffs, and then, by the way, guess what?
02:54Even at home, like, you're playing against competition that's, you know, five times better than the competition you played against.
03:01And again, it's very good that the Patriots aren't that bad competition, right?
03:07Like, there was a chance going into the season that they'd be the soft part of someone's schedule.
03:13There was no guarantee that they'd be better than Carolina.
03:15There was no guarantee that they'd be better than Cleveland.
03:18There was no guarantee of any of this stuff.
03:20I mean, there wasn't.
03:21And the fact that you're beating these teams handily is great.
03:24But now the conversation, the question was Super Bowl, real expectations.
03:30You've now graduated into another layer of the NFL, much to my surprise.
03:34I didn't think this was going to happen.
03:36I didn't think Drake May would be this good this quickly.
03:39So now it's a different conversation than we were having at the beginning of the year.
03:42Yeah, they're good because they're beating up on bad teams this badly.
03:45Like, when you were top five, six, and point differential, you do this consistently week after week after week.
03:50It's a five-game win streak.
03:51That's proof you're good.
03:52Yes.
03:52We're talking now about great.
03:53Right.
03:54Championship great.
03:55Right.
03:55And I don't know.
03:56Which is a fun conversation.
03:57Yeah.
03:57Because we could be talking about, are they going to squeak into the playoffs?
04:01We could be talking about, are they going to finish last in the division?
04:04These are all conversations that I thought we'd be having.
04:07So my own ignorance is on display.
04:09But it is, it's fascinating.
04:12Not fascinating enough to come in on a Monday, but fascinating enough.
