00:00I sense Devin Williams is done with the Yankees.
00:04Do you?
00:05And do you think there's any chance that a plan B,
00:10that if Cody Bellinger suddenly a Met or a Philly or a Dodger,
00:15could plan B be at all, well, let's sign Edwin Diaz
00:19and be great at the end.
00:22Then you have Bednar and Diaz for the last six outs.
00:25And with Bednar ready to be a free agent after 2026,
00:28you have your answer for a while back there.
00:32Yeah, I mean, I'm not ruling much out in free agency.
00:35Anything can happen.
00:36I'm kind of with you on Williams.
00:37I think he got more comfortable as things went,
00:39but he can get a closing role elsewhere.
00:42We saw that the Dodgers via the Athletic are interested.
00:45Once again, they were last winter.
00:47You know, if you've got a choice of the Dodgers or anyone else,
00:50no knock on the Yankees,
00:51you've got a good chance of picking the Dodgers.
00:53He didn't have a choice last time.
00:55Word was he would have liked to have gone to the Dodgers.
00:57Yankees probably weren't number one on his list due to the beard situation.
01:01They rectified that for him.
01:03He still didn't seem too comfortable until the last several weeks of the season.
01:07So I can see that.
01:09I mean, I'm not going to advocate against anybody getting in with Diaz,
01:12any big market team.
01:13He was the best closer in baseball last year.
01:17And Chapman was pretty good, too.
01:18They're obviously not getting Chapman.
01:20He's on the Red Sox and doesn't really love the Yankees anyway.
01:22Anyway, you know, I think Diaz, you know, would be great.
01:27Certainly with Bednar, I think that's probably not a great chance of happening.
01:33I think they like what Bednar did.
01:36There are a ton of guys out there who closed in the past.
01:39They've been good closers.
01:41Whether it be Suarez or Keller or Kenley Jansen.
01:46But I know people are knocking this free agent list.
01:50I think overall it's decent.
01:51Obviously, there's no Otani.
01:53There's no Soto.
01:54But I think overall it's decent.
01:55But it's great in the relief pitching.
01:57And they should be able to bulk up that relief core, which I think would be imperative.
02:02And they obviously need a left-hander.
02:04I mean, Tim Hill did well.
02:06He was good.
02:07He's a good pitcher.
02:08It's a good bargain at $3 million.
02:11They need a left-hander.
02:13I don't think there's any question about that.
02:16Yeah.
02:17You know, John, you mentioned the name that I would use to finish this block, which is Chapman.
02:21And also maybe Zach Britton.
02:23I think the Yankees didn't like the experience of having top-of-the-market, closer money guys on the roster.
02:29And they always feel they'll find their Clay Holmes, Luke Weaver kind of guy there.
02:34So I suspect they'll use their money in another way.
