00:00Things are not all that hunky-dory in Philadelphia, and who do you think that means we're talking about?
00:05That's right, A.J. Brown went on, I guess, a buddy's podcast yesterday or last night.
00:10He was playing video games.
00:11Okay, so yeah, a lot of the kids play, right.
00:13It's like, hey, I'm going to play Madden and watch me play Madden, which never made sense to me.
00:17It keeps the players in the house. That's why they jump on the street.
00:19Okay.
00:20They're in the house.
00:20A.J. Brown said, I'm quoting now, if you got me on fantasy, get rid of me.
00:25He is not happy, and I've got to be honest, I'm with A.J. Brown on this one.
00:30You know, the Eagles' offense is broken.
00:31It's sitting right there.
00:33You know, the embers are still there.
00:35Like, if you blew on it a little bit, you'd have a roaring fire.
00:38I still think they're good enough to score 30 points a game, but A.J. Brown's not wrong.
00:42I know everyone characterizes A.J. Brown as this me-first type of dude, you know, diva wide receiver.
00:48Like, a lot of wide receivers are, not just A.J. Brown.
00:51But he's not wrong, and he's not lying either.
00:55If you're A.J. Brown, and I want to flip the script on this because I think there are times
00:59where he does deserve criticism when maybe he's not a good teammate, and then I think
01:03there's times where the criticism is not warranted, and you need to listen to what A.J. is saying,
01:08and in this case, I happen to agree with him.
01:10No one's going to dispute the fact, I don't think, that the combination of A.J. Brown on
01:15one side, and Devontae Smith on the other, is a top five wide receiver duo?
01:20Factually, that's a fact.
01:22I don't think they're number one, but I think Cincinnati probably, T. Higgins,
01:26even though they don't win.
01:26And tomorrow Chase, you could probably look at Minnesota as well, right, with Addison.
01:31Another team that doesn't win, but yeah.
01:32Right?
01:33And Jefferson, of course.
01:34But they're there.
01:35They're in the conversation.
01:36Wherever you want to rank them, you rank them wherever you want to rank them.
01:39Get your own show and do it, and stop yelling at me for rankings, all right?
01:42But in this case, I think A.J. Brown is right, because when the Eagle offense over the last
01:49two years, and even including some of the games this year, has been at its best, it's
01:54when A.J. Brown is a big part of the offense, meaning, you know, let's say nine or ten targets,
02:00you know, five to seven catches, couple scores, big third down type of deal, right?
02:05And the fact that the Eagles, in the game against Green Bay, that they were very fortunate
02:09to win on the missed 64-yard field goal, which were in a forced overtime against the hapless
02:15Green Bay Packers offense, he had two targets.
02:18One, two.
02:19One, two.
02:20And both of those targets came in the first half.
02:24He had three.
02:24The one last, the play that they should not have ran, he got the, that was the last target.
02:27He had three targets.
02:28Okay, so three total targets.
02:29Two in the first half.
02:30Yeah, then one at the very end.
02:31And then one at the end.
02:31On that fourth half.
02:32And I noticed something in the game, on the key drive of the game for the Eagles, you
02:37know, the biggest play prior to the touchdown was the little dump-off pass to Saquon Barkley.
02:42And Saquon makes a great spin move, makes the guy miss right near the sideline, and then
02:47there's two defensive backs converging on him, and there's an Eagles wide receiver ahead
02:52of Saquon Barkley doing his damnness to block.
02:55All the way down.
02:56Couldn't block both guys, but he absolutely blocked one of the guys and gave Saquon a chance
03:00to get more yards.
03:02That's what coaches look for, for whether or not a wide receiver is all in, or if a
03:07wide receiver is mailing it in because he's upset that he's not getting the rock.
03:12Well, that wide receiver was A.J. Brown.
03:15A.J. Brown is too good, a wide receiver, to only throw him the ball twice and a half, three
03:22times for the entire game.
03:24Like, what are we doing?
03:26We know you've got a quarterback capable of getting him the ball.
03:29You know you've got a great wide receiver on the other side of the field, so A.J.'s not
03:34only seeing double teams.
03:35There are plays when he's going man-to-man against a cornerback, and there's not a cornerback
03:41in football, including Patrick Sutan, that I wouldn't take A.J. Brown in one-on-one.
03:46I wouldn't.
03:47A.J. Brown's going to beat every cornerback in football when it's man-to-man, right?
03:52So I know Eagle fans are tired of hearing about it, and I know people from outside of Philly
03:57that are looking for a reason to poke holes in the Eagles' defense of a Super Bowl, and
04:03the first hole we always poke is, A.J. Brown's a problem.
04:06That locker room's a problem.
04:08You know, they're not all on the same team.
04:10That kind of nonsense, right?
04:11But in this one, I've got to be honest, I think A.J. Brown's right.
04:14Like, I can't envision having a star talent like that and being in a situation where my
04:22offense is struggling, and let's be fair, the Eagle offense is struggling, which is why
04:27yesterday, and this went crazy viral, I suggested you demote Kevin Petullo and replace him with
04:34Brian Dable, who's obviously thought of as a quarterback whisperer and an offensive-minded
04:39head coach, right?
04:40And I know that's not going to happen, but I think the Eagles have a problem right now
04:44with their offensive coordinator, and my proof of that is you're not giving the ball to a
04:52guy that is one of, if not, your best offensive player.
04:56Yeah.
04:56You're a Philly guy.
04:57Yeah, it's ridiculous.
04:58And I'm not.
04:59And for me to say it, like, I have to assume, well, I shouldn't assume, because I know Philly
05:03is broken along certain lines, some of them race lines.
05:07But if you're a diehard Eagles fan, are you pro-AJ Brown, or are Eagle fans tired of AJ Brown?
