00:00You know, when players have a little bit too much time on their hands,
00:03known as the NFL offseason,
00:05one of the biggest and baddest nightmares that a coach can ever get
00:09is to call at 2 o'clock in the middle of the night,
00:11hey, your player's just been arrested.
00:14Well, guess what?
00:15Here we are with a couple dudes here in the NFL.
00:18Nolan Smith, their outside edge rusher for the Philadelphia Eagles,
00:22was arrested going 137 miles an hour in a 70-mile-an-hour zone.
00:30He was arrested in Georgia this past Friday.
00:33Rasheed Rice, who was basically violated his probation
00:38because the dude got caught with marijuana in his system.
00:43So let's talk about these two doofuses in decision-making.
00:47Let's talk with Nolan Smith first.
00:49So Nolan Smith, the edge rusher who just signed and got his fifth-year option picked up
00:54by the Philadelphia Eagles for $14 million,
00:57who has absolutely been an underachiever in Philadelphia since he was taken in the first round.
01:05He right now is on a respirator on whether or not they're going to give this kid a contract extension.
01:12Let me help you out here, son.
01:14Don't give the NFL teams an opportunity to take your money and to take your career from you
01:21because they will.
01:23He's underachieved as a football player.
01:25And when you're doing stuff like this, let's also put this into context.
01:31Listen, when you're speeding in a community, that means you are a danger in a community.
01:36And this is the second time that this idiot has had this happen to him.
01:41You know, I don't know what's in the water there in Georgia with Jalen Carter and this guy
01:45and some of these Bulldog guys who like to speed.
01:48Guys, you are multimillionaires.
01:52You are making poor decisions.
01:54These are the guys I do not want on my football team or in my business.
01:59Poor decision makers.
02:02People who you can't trust.
02:04This is a guy, again, numerous violations of trust.
02:09The number one thing that you have to have with your coach is the ability for him to be able
02:14to know
02:14that you're going to be here.
02:16So let's take Rasheed Rice.
02:18So Rasheed Rice has a violation on pot.
02:24Remember, he was involved in that car accident that was a deadly car accident.
02:28And he's on probation.
02:30Guess what?
02:31So what does he do?
02:33He thinks it's in the best interest to have marijuana in his system.
02:38This is decision making.
02:40I don't have a problem with anybody smoking pot.
02:43I really don't.
02:45What I do have a problem with, hey, you're on probation, son.
02:50And you're going to have THC in your system?
02:53Ask me how that makes me think that you know exactly where you are when it comes to being a
02:59thought process guy,
03:00when you know that we're looking at you as a guy who's needed if we're going to move the sticks
03:05this coming season.
03:07How do I count on you?
03:10This is poor decision making.
03:13As I said, when you're a player, coaches, general managers are looking to see, can I trust you?
03:21Are you somebody that's going to be there?
03:25Are you somebody that we can count on?
03:28Are you somebody that we can build a team around?
03:32You can't have guys that don't know where they are in the room.
03:37And this is where you have an issue here with guys like this.
03:41Guys, listen, being arrested, we're going to see cases like this, and there'll be more cases like this.
03:48Andy Reid is trying to build a football team back up again.
03:51But when you have guys who don't know where they are and how a team looks at you,
03:59teams are always looking to take your money,
04:01and they're giving you an excuse to be able to knock you off their football team.
04:07These are two examples of that.
04:09Guys who are fighting for their NFL careers,
04:14don't give them the opportunity.
04:16Dude, you could go to a track.
04:19If you want to speed, go to a track.
04:22If you want to smoke pot, wait until you're after your NFL career,
04:27especially when you're on probation.
04:29How do you not know the room?
04:33How are you making these decisions?
04:37Where is your age?
04:38Where's your common sense?
04:40You have to have common sense.
04:43Sometimes that, to me, is one of the most difficult things to do with players.
04:49Sometimes the most common things are the most difficult things to have.
04:53And a guy speeding like this for the second time,
04:57I mean, he's lucky that we didn't have the same situation that we had here with Henry Ruggs.
05:04Do you not know the Henry Ruggs story?
05:06Henry Ruggs just was in front of a judge trying to get released from jail
05:11because he killed somebody because he was speeding.
05:16I mean, do you want to be in the can?
05:20Dude, consequences in this, it's like playing Russian roulette.
05:25This is Russian roulette.
05:27And now you put two bullets in the chamber when it comes to your NFL career.
05:32You put two bullets in the chamber when it comes to your NFL career.
