00:01:53it's tough i mean the first couple of times you got to really breathe in deep and let it out when

00:01:58they when they rip i mean not speaking from someone that has had their back waxed yeah i think i've been

00:02:05there i've been there um well you know what might have been the equivalent of getting your back waxed or

00:02:11something else waxed last night was that thursday night football game yeah pretty um an absolute rock

00:02:18fight of a game sloppy all around but in the end the denver broncos get the eighth get their eighth

00:02:24win of the season most wins in the nfl right now sitting at eight and two they beat the raiders 10 to

00:02:29seven and yesterday going into this game uh the one of the main aspects that we highlighted was the

00:02:35denver bronco pass rush yeah 40 sacks through nine games those the most it's a 2 000 buccaneers so what

00:02:40did they do last night they add six more sacks to the tally yep um 46 through 10 is the most that

00:02:47any team has had since at least 1990 so you were seeing a pass rush that is performing at an all-time

00:02:53good level right now it's beautiful and you're seeing how effective that is in the modern nfl oh yeah

00:02:58yeah listen now that game last night was just disgusting but the broncos just keep finding a way

00:03:05to win yeah seven in a row that you we're reading it here off the notes and it's not the most beautiful

00:03:11road to seven and two but they beat this three and six jake browning led bengals the two and seven

00:03:17geno smith led raiders three and five davis mills led texans one and seven justin fields led jets

00:03:23two and seven jackson dart led giants and the one and eight cam ward led titans so listen it's not the

00:03:32uh prettiest most beautiful road to get to seven and two but they're there yeah you know or eight

00:03:39and two i think they're eight and two eight and two i think i would have rather either watched you

00:03:44guys get your backs wax or even gotten my own wax before i watched the game last night yeah i took

00:03:49the under because the raiders there was three games where they hadn't scored more than 10 points colts

00:03:54chiefs and chargers and then last night guess what seven whole points congrats man yeah i mean i guess

00:04:01it's you play who's on your schedule yeah whatever you know but bo nix doesn't look great he's just

00:04:07a roller coaster out there he'll make one great play and have a bad play and it makes you question

00:04:12whether next week they're go to can or it's in in denver but they're playing kansas city you can't

00:04:17have those up and down moments against a team like kansas city no no and it's funny because bo nix

00:04:23this has kind of been his entire career a bit going back to college but one thing he does have

00:04:28is just uh an incredible self-belief yeah and i think that's why he can be so good in the fourth

00:04:33quarter when he struggled the first three quarters because he always believes that he can get it done

00:04:38and even last night after the game because he was booed by that home crowd and i loved this quote

00:04:42after the game he said look i've been booed before i'll be booed again yeah love it so nix gonna keep

00:04:46on but but they the highlighting the quarterbacks there in terms of the broncos wins who they face that is

00:04:52so key because that's i mean that is look the pass rush is incredible but that is how you achieve

00:04:57like oh this hasn't been done in 40 something years is you combine an incredible rush with uh kind of

00:05:04outlier uh wild number of of subpar quarterbacks are going to take additional sacks as far as the

00:05:11raiders go i don't know there's much to say no uh they just appear to be completely dead in the

00:05:15water he's got to get out of there um yeah yeah free free crosby he's too good uh good luck jentee

00:05:21over the next few years congratulations to kobe myers recently getting freed himself

00:05:25but um yeah they appear to be completely helpless which is crazy because after that initial week

00:05:31one win uh one of the takeaways that i had was like p carroll had clearly brought competence

00:05:36to las vegas raiders and here in year number one under carroll it's just not true yeah

00:05:41stuff that's why we kind of we we tend to overreact early in the season and especially me i think i

00:05:48said the raiders were going to be in the playoffs they're gross they're bad yeah you know we see a

00:05:54couple good a good game out of a team in week one or week two and we tend to overreact a little bit

00:05:59this team they need something i might be a bit early here but when when are we going to look at

00:06:05pete carroll maybe hanging it up i mean it feels that way certainly right seattle moves on from him and

00:06:13they're having great success um this has been disastrous for carroll rolling with his guy geno

00:06:20this year hmm this is i'm not crazy this is year one though right yeah but i mean it's just like

00:06:27i don't know it just feels like again he kind of after he left seattle it's just been a very very

00:06:34very slow moving train to nowhere yeah i mean again and in the nfl it can come quick right i mean

00:06:41if things go poorly enough and are enough of a disaster it can definitely happen so it's something

00:06:47to keep an eye on we'll put that in the uh keep an eye on it category for now do y'all trust the

00:06:52denver broncos going forward though like we said only team in the nfl with eight wins if you were to

00:06:56like power rank the afc right now are the broncos breaking into the top three i i think so but it's

00:07:03like the teams like this like are special because like dana said they find ways to win like it

00:07:08doesn't matter like yeah they've played some pretty bad teams but at the end of the day they're finding

00:07:14ways to win and they're at the top of their division like teams like this are just successful

00:07:18because they can find ways to win in games like that like against the the raiders it's 7-7 until

00:07:24like the yeah like they found a way all right um i want to get into some of the other games coming

00:07:28up this weekend as well because you see the patriots up there as well as seven and two

00:07:32they have played the easiest schedule up to this point in the nfl and have the easiest remaining

00:07:38schedule in the nfl which is one of the reasons why pat's butts this weekend uh has potential to

00:07:43be so impactful but right now we were all tasked with coming up with our top five quarterbacks right

00:07:49now in the nfl and i'm interested to see how these lists shake out uh mikey katik take it away

00:07:56i think do you have the did you uh have my number one was josh allen two i've went with baker i just

00:08:05he's a dog yeah he's a dog he plays all year long tampa's winning that that checks out goff

00:08:11drake may sam darnold okay pretty good list that's that's that's yeah that i'm it was like a uh mum i

00:08:19don't know what the word is mumbo jumbo i think i think i think so my list is also going to be mumbo jumbo

00:08:25i think i think that's one of the things that we're going to get in all this as as we reveal is

00:08:30just how up in the air the quarterback conversation is right now meg you're up next mine's a little bit

00:08:36more uh a little chalky but i do have josh allen as one mahomes as two i mean the guy can really just

00:08:44do anything whenever he has uh the right things around him i have baker at three hurts at four and

00:08:50then five i had a toss-up between lamar herbert and stafford if lamar and stafford were healthy

00:08:56all the time i'd probably put one of them five but i'll probably end up going with herbert there

00:09:01we're doing toss-ups no i just couldn't figure it out the top eight this is like myspace you ever

00:09:07have top eights on myspace no the top eight rock top eight i had two two twins in middle school

00:09:12or one sorry they were both your best friend two guys one pair of twins two guys i couldn't decide

00:09:19who to put one or two ben or brandon i put ben first it was a whole big thing but they were two

00:09:24of my best friends i just couldn't decide it's tough top eight you have to make a top eight

00:09:28everyone likes one twin better than the oh i liked them both but it was like a coin flip you know

00:09:33uh dana who's your top five quarterback i also have josh allen i think we're all sitting here

00:09:39at the top pretty and then we have lamar jackson listen he's been hurt but when he is healthy

00:09:45he's up there for the mvp every single year patrick mahomes playing at another level this year

00:09:51my guy drake may year two just getting started he'll be at number one soon enough and then i have

00:09:57baker mayfield i also have a futures bet on him to win the mvp so i'm praying okay except i hope he

00:10:03has a bad game this he's gonna have a great game i was gonna say if you want him to win mvp like this

00:10:07game i know unfortunately maybe he can have a really good game and lose at the end what's

00:10:13probably going to hold baker back i feel like is all those injuries to his uh skill positions

00:10:17yep yeah in that he's he's definitely playing over his head right now and finding success where

00:10:22it should be really hard which like should lend itself to an mvp but i think it's going to take

00:10:25away i feel like baker plays the best whenever he has that pressure though that's true that's true

00:10:31um all right my top five and this is a uh well it's a bit surprising number one i have lamar

00:10:39jackson like it dude uh lamar look when lamar is healthy he was the mvp last year we gave josh

00:10:46allen the mvp because he was due but lamar objectively had a better season throwing rushing everything top

00:10:53to bottom and if you look right now who leads the nfl in qbr completing 73 percent of his passes 14

00:10:59tuds just one interception it is lamar jackson so health has kind of discolored the story for him

00:11:04this year but he's my number one number two is matt stafford he uh currently leads the league in

00:11:09touchdowns right now 21 tuds to only two picks for stafford he's been fantastic the rams look like

00:11:15they could be a legitimate contender number three is patrick mahomes because of course it's it's

00:11:20patrick mahomes um it's kind of this is a little bit odd because a lot of these guys are who's playing

00:11:25the best right now and then i just put mahomes there because you literally i mean i can't make

00:11:28the top five list yeah without having him in there four i got sam darnold yep i mean objectively playing

00:11:34great right now i don't know how it's going to translate to the playoffs obviously he has to deal

00:11:38with the narrative he created last season falling flat on his face in the postseason but right now the

00:11:43third highest rated quarterback in terms of qbr and then number five i got danny dimes daniel jones

00:11:50seven and two for the colts coming off an awful five turnover game yes meg i noticed you're the

00:11:56only person that doesn't have josh allen on your list do you know ball uh i look i think that

00:12:02i think if i was building a team it would be lamar allen that i would choose first right but he's not on

00:12:11your list statistically if we're talking about who's playing the best football right now i guess maybe

00:12:17lamar's not he just got back uh we yeah but when he played this year he's the highest

00:12:21quarterback in the entire in the entire now you're splitting hairs yeah he played he played

00:12:25awesome when he just got back you know and he's the top he's the best quarterback in the league uh

00:12:31when when blitzed and he's about to go against the vikings who blitz at a damn near 50 percent rate

00:12:36um so yeah i i look the josh allen thing i kind of put together this list is like a sat first instinct

00:12:44type deal and then i kind of came away and i was like oh wow i don't have josh allen on there but

00:12:48i'm just gonna stick with my original test answers i do like that the stafford at number two he's so

00:12:52i feel like he's so underappreciated year after year he just puts up numbers slings the ball plays

00:12:58through any injury imaginable so i i kind of overlook stafford there i might slide him into number five if

00:13:05baker doesn't have a great weekend we'll see but i don't think anybody realizes crazy i don't think

00:13:11anybody realizes that he is leading the league in uh in touchdowns right yeah he's the man he he's

00:13:17playing so well what is he 37 years old he's just age doesn't matter to him he's got to live a really

00:13:24really great life yeah i do yeah i would imagine so um but no josh allen i just can't get behind that

00:13:30i uh look i don't know i again original instincts maybe it's maybe it's a flavor of the week list

00:13:37that i'm doing here uh but i feel like if you just wanted to go with the best players

00:13:42or the guys that you just automatically have to have then three of the five spots are already

00:13:47yeah immediately taken up with the homes allen and uh lamar jackson just trying to spice it up a

00:13:53little bit trying to spice maybe maybe like subconsciously yeah uh i tried to uh spice it up

00:15:14movie rumors back in the day and yeah i was doing different stuff on my asl asl that's just devious

00:15:27yeah you don't know about that early internet dog because i took what you know about early

00:15:31uh but the point is where message boards still thrive is college football when you got coaching

00:15:37rumors all of that it's out of control it's where a lot of stuff ends up leaking it's our producers

00:15:42have created a game real or fake we've tried to ascertain if the uh posts that we are going to be

00:16:38message board but it has nothing to do with the coach we're just gonna have a statement if this is

00:16:43not a real message board post it is completely accurately fabricated yes because the the rumored

00:16:51plan that everybody's whispering about that again i think is ridiculous is that they're pitching saving

00:16:56on doing three years then him getting to choose a successor and then him getting to bad why in the

00:17:03world nick save would want to do that when espn's paying him more than you'd probably even pay him to

00:17:07coach i don't know but i'm gonna say real i'm gonna say real as well yeah let's let's let's sweep

00:25:21on the ball and the wall but uh we're going the hoosiers here laying the 14 and a half against penn

00:25:27state sig loves to put it on him sig loves to put it on him mikey he'll put it on you too there we go

00:27:38logic out uh support of your point here cincinnati is a team that's still in some ways kind of newer

00:27:45to this or at least maybe in the post fickle era whereas b y u consistently outperforms expectation

00:27:52they are sort of the ultimate culture uh program in the entire country actually them in iowa actually

00:27:58this game in the i war again a lot of similarities in that regard i'm just a little worried about b y

00:29:33missouri ahmad hardy is an absolute monster he's um uh marcel reid is fourth right now i believe in

00:29:40the heisman race yep he goes in and is able to score two rushing touchdowns i think that skyrockets

00:29:45and it's plus 500 so marcel reid two plus touchdowns again he did it against a good lsu defense

00:29:52just a couple weeks back uh i love this i look i i like a&m in this spot um i think that

00:45:48the golf course was across the street and uh it was a not a super busy golf course but my dad played all

00:45:55the time so he knew all the golf pros and like you know the guys that like took care of the course

00:46:00and my brothers and i got the great idea it was like probably 7 a.m and it was like really humid

00:46:05and dewy outside so we took the kneeboard with a rope and put it behind the golf cart no and we were

00:46:11jumping the tee boxes oh and it was probably the most like i was waiting because i was like eight or

00:46:17nine because my brothers went like three or four times i'm like i want to go i want to go so finally

00:46:21i'm strapped up on the kneeboard ready to just go jump jump the tee box here comes the the course

00:46:27security we have to run off like ditch the kneeboard yeah no i wouldn't do that again i was

00:46:32a child did y'all get away yeah of course oh let's go we played football that was honestly golf courses

00:46:37a fairway is the best place to play football 100 we played all the time as kids they uh i guess my

00:46:43only story would be we have this lsu football alumni golf tournament every year and normally

00:46:47they stick us on like the worst course possible um but one year we got to go to this country

00:46:53club course that's where my grandpa lives and it was an absolute disaster have you all seen

00:46:58saving private ryan yes okay you know when um when uh tom hanks is sitting there on the beach and

00:47:04everything's slowed down around him and he's just kind of like looking around in slow motion at one

00:47:09point very drunk you know we're very deep in our cups at this point it's it's on the back nine

00:47:14and i think it's like hole 16 and at one point i had a saving private ryan moment where

00:47:19i looked around and i did this 360 pan and it was like right here there were two guys jousting

00:47:26with golf carts running them into each other head first then in the sand pit it was uh one of the

00:47:32old fullbacks from the o3 team and one of the o-line men wrestling each other there was like a mud

00:47:38hill over here that guys were playing king of the hill on uh these guys were just hitting balls into the

00:47:43water chugging beers and it was just like oh my god you can take the boys this is a disaster you can't take

00:47:49the football out of the boys no no and it's like 20 years worth of lsu players um wow that sounds

00:47:55awesome so we got banned yeah uh we got banned i'll talk to my people i'll have you get back in there

00:48:00back to the uh back to the bad courses but a fun time nonetheless uh all right guys let's get back to

00:48:05the nfl coming up this sunday then some of the games we haven't touched on yet uh ravens at vikings

00:48:10let's start there this one's pretty simple to me i am so all in on the ravens right now we've kind

00:48:16of been playing this game of how do they have such high odds at two and five everything else but

00:48:20well it's what you saw last week lamar gets back that changes everything roquan and company got back

00:48:24in the defense the week before to get the big win um and against the bears and now the ravens look like

00:48:32a wagon again yeah and they've got an easy schedule and again the game has just slowed for lamar jackson to

00:48:37such a point that he he's just to me again to me he's the best quarterback in the nfl there's such a

00:48:43comfort level when your quarterback gets back and you know after a couple weeks people aren't the

00:48:48offensive line isn't isn't gelling well with the new voice back there when you get your guy back

00:48:53it's one of the greatest feelings of an offensive line and as a team together like the way the the

00:48:58team will gel and and have chemistry on offense with lamar back there and just like the the level of

00:49:04comfortability long word for me there um comfortability yeah thank you dana it's it's it's a great you

00:49:12know it's it's comforting i said comforting about oh no you had it dude you know i'm just going to

00:49:16shut up i'm kind of buzzing off the beers but you know what it is what it is you know there's no

00:49:21i said last week that whenever lamar came back he they had to put their foot on the gas and just

00:49:26continue to go i was right last week i i think that they are going to continue to do that i mean lamar

00:49:32is just that guy again two and five you look at that team last week and you're like what can they do

00:49:37lamar comes back and you see the full longevity of what they are able to do as a full team i i

00:49:44mean the vikings they're fun they're good but i i think lamar goes out there and just does work yeah

00:49:58flores obviously that defense is going to be ready they're going to be blitzing them but i think this

00:50:02is his game to kind of come in and say hey we are like solidified we are back not an easy defense

00:50:09to go against but if there's one quarterback that can go out there and make it happen we all know it's

00:50:13lamar yeah and yeah i mean the ravens have also only allowed one uh passing touchdown the last three

00:50:20games their defense is also figuring it out a little bit i'm a stats guy that inspires me i'm back

00:50:28typically an eyeballs guy i watch the game and i react but every now and then you gotta think listen

00:50:34man national tv has evolved him i hop on tv i gotta start dropping facts so i love it their defense is

00:50:41also rounding into form a little bit along with their offense so you know their defense was horrendous

00:54:47steelers heading to l.a to take on the chargers and to me i love this game because we talk about

00:54:53the ravens being a three and five team that's probably better than they are these are two

00:54:57teams of five and three and six and three that are probably maybe not as good as their records would

00:55:03have you believe both these teams winning with culture that's how the steelers always seem to

00:55:08win you know rod's been good this year and and as far as the charges go that's not it traditionally but

00:55:13i do think that harbaugh's got the culture of that team moving in the right direction so what we're

00:55:17going to figure out is which team becomes real and what i would ask you is when you look at these two

00:55:24teams what do they need to show you to make you believe that they are real i think for the steelers

00:55:31it's just sustaining solid defense because they've had weeks where they've looked like the worst

00:55:37defense in the nfl recently looking a little bit better i think just to show that they're for real

00:55:43i think their offense is fine i mean correct me if i'm wrong katie but just an eyeball test i think

00:55:48their offense is with rogers looking adequate yeah it's about the defense they added kyle duggar

00:55:56and jalen ramsey i think that secondary just i think they just as long as they can show some signs

00:56:02of being decent in these tough games here and when the winter comes that's what it is for me for

00:56:08this and and and the deep like the defense played a great game against a very good colts offense best

00:56:14offense in the nfl like how will we take what we did on sunday and take it to la and and just i don't

00:56:21know it's scary the defense it's week to week with the defense but the chargers they have to prove that

00:56:26they can play without two of arguably one of the you know the best tackles sean slater and joe all

00:56:32yeah yes um you know it's i hate that joe wall went down like it sucks but how i mean i've watched

00:56:39a lot of film on the chargers offense line the center is having some troubles communication with

00:56:44herbert communication with the rest of the o-line it felt like joe wall back last week like he he was

00:56:50he's been playing well but him going down i just don't see a world where that offense line can

00:56:56protect herbert enough to put a pressure on the steelers defense yeah it's um it's insane how

00:57:03much all this meant to this team like if you look at the numbers it's night and day

00:57:06yeah and and y'all y'all hit the exact two questions right can the steelers defense be

00:57:10consistent because if they can then they're legitimate yeah and can the charges offensive

00:57:13line somehow hold up because if they can they're legitimate i don't know that i believe in either if

00:57:18i had to choose one i would choose the steelers i agree because we've seen it and i don't

00:57:24trust his charges off his line at all i mean they just traded for trevor pinning yeah yeah who megan

01:15:11don't have time to deal with small market teams like middle tennessee state or whoever uh and so i

01:15:18i start following those early just like uh indiana state a couple years ago i was on them early they

01:15:23got they were money for me um i think it was like so how do you know though what you think the spread

01:15:30should be like how do you keep up with all of these teams so i i go look at data and information and

01:15:34more people so my best my best uh advice is you always surround yourself with people who are

01:15:41smarter than you yeah because if not then you're just going off of your own logic and your own

01:15:46almost like a narcissistic narcissistic tendency where you think you're always right i look at

01:15:51everyone else i get all the data that i can from the people that i think are the smartest and then i

01:15:56look at the line discrepancies and then i play from there and then each week i progress and if you

01:16:00know the team that i think should win by 15 that's you know only favored by three if they win by 25

01:16:05i'll probably play them again next week because the bookmakers aren't keeping up with the small

01:16:09markets uh so there it is guys the skill or that's excuse me that's um mostly hoops how's the first
