00:00we are inside the hard rock artist artist lounge excuse me it's tc and dina b with dasha now i

00:08before we get to any like real hard-hitting questions you two were just talking about

00:12stand-up jeans and sit-down jeans um for guys out there that don't understand what you're

00:17talking about because we can put on the same clothes every day yes i can what are we talking

00:21about we're talking about outfits that you plan to be standing in majority of the day or night

00:26sometimes there's outfits that are just so good that you're like it's worth it

00:29i can't really breathe or sit but i look really cute exactly and that's what it's all about you

00:34know so we plan to stand on stage yeah and now we're sitting and we're like suffocating a little

00:39bit but we look good so that's all that matters look we're all today years old guys when we learn

00:44that one okay so i know it was uh this time a year ago dean and i were sitting on this couch talking

00:48to some folks but you were getting ready for one of the coolest things ever it was the macy's

00:52thanksgiving day parade oh my god yeah and for folks that either a will never see it which is

00:56most of us but b will never be able to play on the float ever can you give us just what that's

01:02like what the preparation's like what the moment's like and then what do you do after do you just go

01:06to like a chili's or something well i mean these are great questions um i feel like i had a little

01:11bit of a unique experience um for a couple reasons i flew in a few days before we had a full-blown

01:16rehearsal blocked off um time square and nice it was so crazy to see all those giant floats in the

01:23production and dan and shay were there alex more and we all played um and then the morning of i got

01:28up at 4 a.m for glam and you're on the float by i think it was 7 a.m yeah and it's pouring down rain

01:34of course and i chose to wear red lipstick because tis the season right um and i don't know if you saw

01:40lipstick gate my fiasco we were letting that one go but we just want to talk about the experience

01:44itself but i mean it was definitely memorable there was a fun little moment that happened after

01:48no i think it's hilarious i got lipstick all over my face for people who didn't see that oh no but it was

01:52funny it was good time i got to go to the parade one time i mean my family's from you know new york

01:56up there and you know i think the parade is like something that everybody should do it's like a

02:00bucket list for everyone to experience but any kind of fun thing that you took away from that because i

02:04know obviously we're going into it and everybody will be watching again more country artists are

02:07going to be performing would you say that there's like one fun fact that people don't know like give

02:12us something that people don't know about the parade as a performer i feel like so i was next to

02:16ronald mcdonald's float okay and i was that was crazy but the entire time everyone's so in character

02:22which is the best part yeah you know i was trying to like get him off i was like hey man and he's

02:25like oh and i was like oh okay it's really you i guess so that's fun yeah there's just like so

02:30much community around it and new york just like really rallies and everyone's millions of people

02:35are lining the streets and out their windows it's it's like the coolest thing ever i'm so lucky to be

02:39a part of it it was crazy yeah well you did a great job thank you we enjoyed watching thanks so

02:43it's such a it's such a moment but but speaking of moments so you started and your moment

02:48started i mean just like you you took off austin took off all over the place everybody they're

02:53gonna be singing that song dancing that song in the clubs 10 years from now but now there's a

02:57different side coming out as well i know you have a new ep out right now and i i've read other places

03:02that you said it's kind of you talking to a younger version of yourself can you just dive in a little

03:07bit more on that and getting to see more of dash of the artist instead of just dash of the banger

03:11maker that makes austin dance forever um well i feel like because austin got so big so fast

03:17i mean overnight i was like known as the boots girl you know which is pretty cool yeah it's pretty

03:21cool but i felt like i had to kind of take a few steps back and explain like hey this is who i am and

03:27this is where i come from i'm from california and i grew up on country music and i love storytelling and

03:31kind of rewinding in that way and also sharing that like since i was a little girl like i've never

03:36wanted to do anything else with my life except for what i'm doing so to be here you know at the

03:41macy's day parade and like doing what i'm doing is just like absolutely insane to me because it's

03:45actually my dreams coming true i don't know just kind of giving people a little bit of context on

03:48me has been really nice because you know you know i'll be doing shoeys on stage and starting parties

03:54and that is so much a part of who i am of course but also inside there's this sweet little girl who's

03:58just always wanted this and this is her dreams coming true so well that sweet little girl um your ep is

04:02called anna so i have to ask do like your family and like inside friends that like know you know

04:08you do this question was coming this is a great question anna or do you go by dash at everywhere

04:12is dash like madonna like is that your stage name and everybody calls you anna i've gone by it my

04:16whole life besides kindergarten through sixth grade i went by anna okay that was just school wise okay i

04:21thought i was gonna bullied for being named dasha but but my family's always called me dasha dash is

04:26what my friends call me so don't call me dash okay i do not respond to anna it's just like calling me

04:30fred like okay lights on no one home all right fred anna we know fred and anna are off the list

04:35there you go okay well uh this is this is why i want to ask you this too because um just i wanted

04:41to see if like tucker wetmore calls you dasha or anna that's really where i was going because you

04:45guys are going out on tour again you're going to be down here yes we're going to see you here in

04:49february is where we're playing yes right back here yeah we're going to see you in a few months so

04:54we're excited about that it was just announced a couple weeks ago uh love tucker you guys are are

04:59together a lot yeah so i mean obviously people want to know and i'm gonna have to press a little

05:04bit um are are we just like bffs and like tour mates i mean can you give me something there

05:10um tucker is bestie we love tucker okay i mean i love him too but i don't hang out with him like a lot

05:16no i mean i mean i feel like our stars kind of rose at the same time so all of a sudden we were just

05:21everywhere at the same time yeah our managers are really good friends and our our crews are really

05:25good friends and our bandmates and everyone and so we've been on the thomas rett tour together

05:30right we're just really good friends and i i mean i do love taking videos and working out and stuff

05:35and they go viral and it's great content it's entertaining for me as much because i'm providing

05:39for the girl community yeah you're welcome yeah thank you yes tucker is bestie okay well we can't

05:45wait to see you guys together in february anyway and i think ladies are excited kind of about that

05:49yes it's gonna be good that's it so we always like to end our show this way um we always ask for

05:55besides just playing the show tonight something good going on in your life we called it a little

05:59amen besides just playing the show in front of everybody what's that one positive thing going

06:03on right now in dash's life she can't stop smiling about oh my god um well i'm writing my next album

06:09right now okay dasha okay there's anna and there's dasha um and everything's just kind of coming together

06:15right now we're just like literally on a call about it and i'm just like getting giddy songwriting is like

06:20my favorite part of all this craziness okay so i'm just getting a little geeked up and excited to write

06:24it so well we're excited to hear it so any kind of like timeline here we're talking like a year

06:29from now no it'll be like first quarter of next year probably okay cool we got that very very quick
