A pleasant weekend is in store for the Pacific Northwest after days of wet weather come to an end on Friday.
Transcript
00:00When we take a look at the satellite loop here, the cloud cover, we're going to continue to see the moisture stream in through the night.
00:05But if we look far enough out there, you can see that cellular type of cloud pattern with a little bit more blue on the map where we're not seeing many deep, tall clouds.
00:13The beginning of the end of this is underway.
00:16So tonight into early tomorrow morning, really through Friday morning, we've got rain.
00:20Snow levels are coming down.
00:22In other words, this is going to be the colder part of our storm system and really the coldest part of the week here.
00:27But still, snow levels have started so high, up around 8,000 feet.
00:31Now we're dropping back down.
00:32You can see it's brighter again in Truckee, California after what was an active time earlier around midweek.
00:37But Friday, lingering showers and sprinkles here and there into Seattle.
00:41Some snow into the bitter roots and the Tetons will see some pretty good snow.
00:45But we're going to begin to dry out there in southern parts of Oregon.
00:48So we are in the midst of still a 1 to 2 inch rain event in Seattle.
00:53Eureka started the week here with 2 to 4 inches of rain.
00:56And then this late week event, mainly aimed farther north, still adding 1 to 2 inches there to the rain gauges in Eureka.
01:01And I mentioned that the snow levels started way up at 8,000 feet.
01:04They're coming down to around maybe 3,500 feet at the end of this storm system.
01:08So that keeps Snoqualmie Pass at around 3,000 feet on the wet side.
01:12Rain there.
01:13But Stevens Pass and White Passes could see 1 to 3 inches of snow.
01:18And look at that wave action there.
01:19You can see some of the harbors there in Washington State where there's been an onshore breeze.
01:25And maybe the water's a little up from where it typically would be amid even higher tides.
01:29But future radar and satellite, again, we're going to say goodbye to this round of rain.
01:34And you'll notice the weekend storm.
01:36Initially, it kind of looks like it's coming at us.
01:38It really runs out of gas and diverts primarily up into Canadian real estate as the ridge builds.
01:42Look at this.
01:43The sun will be shining.
01:44And we're going to see a nice rebound.
01:45So Friday, rain in Missoula, showers in Billings, Boise some showers, Portland leftover showers,
01:51Ely, Nevada 59, 86 in Phoenix looking great there.
01:55But Saturday and Sunday, we warm up.
01:57It's going to get nice out there.
