00:00The Department of Agriculture issues an advisory for farmers and fisher folks in line with the possible effects of Typhoon Tino.
00:08Some of the possible negative effects of Typhoon Tino includes damage and loss of crops and animals due to heavy rain, flooding and strong winds.
00:16Continuous wet weather may also promote final developments which can cause damage to stored farm products.
00:22Livestocks and domesticated animals are also susceptible to contracting respiratory diseases.
00:28With this, the DA advises farmers to harvest the crops that can be harvested, move the reserve seeds, planting materials and other farm implements to safe and high ground that won't be reached by floods,
00:40prepare enough food, water and medicine for livestock, clean irrigation canals to prevent floods and allow faster water flow, and to regularly follow latest weather updates from authorities.
00:52Meanwhile, fisher folks are advised to evacuate their boats and other fishing gears to safe and high ground, plan or adjust fishing schedule due to possible strong and big waves, and coordinate and follow advisories or warnings from local authorities.
01:07The DA is continuously monitoring and posting advisories as Philippine Atmospheric, Geographic and Astronomical Services Administration, or PAG-ASA, has not yet ruled out the possibility of Tino's intensification.
