The Prime Minister has urged all Australians to turn the temperature down. His plea comes as he joined the Israeli president in Sydney late today to meet victims of the Bondi terror attack. Isaac Herzog also spent time visiting Jewish school children.

00:43This afternoon it was back to Bondi, this time joined by the Prime Minister to meet families
00:48at the Bondi Chabad, the religious home of many of those killed.
00:52It's very good that he came here to Australia and that I'm able to see him here.
00:59President Herzog met with the Governor-General here at Government House today before meeting
01:03with some of the first responders of the December 14 attack in a private reception.
01:09Still to come in his trip, a visit to Melbourne and to Canberra where more controversy awaits.
01:15President Herzog should not set foot in Australia's democratic building, our federal parliament.
01:21President Herzog is here primarily to provide comfort for people who not only need it but
01:29they deserve it at this time.
01:32And I will not, I will not as a number of the crossbenchers have suggested, walk away from
01:39my support for his presence here.
01:42A forceful defence of someone the Prime Minister says deserves respect.
