00:00The Department of Tourism, or DOT, reported on Thursday a significant increase in tourism

00:05revenue for 2025.

00:08According to the DOT, the country's tourism revenue in January 2025 reached 65.3 billion

00:15pesos, surpassing the pre-pandemic earnings.

00:18This revenue comes from various tourism-related activities, products and services.

00:24The latest figure exceeds the tourism revenue recorded in January 2019, which stood at 43

00:30billion pesos.

00:33Tourism Secretary Cristina García-Frasco stated that this growth is a strong indication

00:38that the country's tourism sector is not only recovering but also expanding, contributing

00:44significantly to the national economy.

00:47She added that this progress aligns with the current administration's goal of making

00:52tourism inclusive and equitable, ensuring that its benefits reach various communities

00:57across the country.
