00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:04Today we're talking about the new GWM Haval H9, which was presented at the Auto Shanghai 2025 and may soon enter the Malaysian market.
00:14The second generation Haval H9 is a midsize to large SUV with a strong focus on off-road capability.
00:22The model has been available for pre-order in China since August of last year in three different equipment variants.
00:30The prices range from around €25,000 to around €29,000, which is considered attractive for an off-road SUV with such comprehensive equipment.
00:40At the Shanghai Trade Fair, the Haval H9 was presented in two visually different versions.
00:47Optionally with an externally mounted spare wheel or alternatively with an externally mounted dust box on the tailgate.
00:53The version with the spare wheel measures approximately 5.1 meters in length, almost 2 meters in width and 1.9 meters in height with a wheelbase of 2.9 meters.
01:06The version with the dust box is slightly shorter, between approximately 5.0 and 5.0 meters, but retains the same width, height and wheelbase, so that there are no differences in the interior.
01:16Designed for demanding terrain, the new H9 offers a ground clearance of 22.4 centimeters, a side clearance of 80 centimeters and an approach angle of 31 degrees at the front and 25 degrees at the rear.
01:30The angular, retro-inspired design with a square radiator grille, round headlights, side-hinged tailgate, vertically aligned taillights, roof rack, panoramic blast sunroof and classic door handles underscores its robust off-road vehicle look.
01:47There are two engine variants to choose from.
01:52A 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which produces 224 horsepower and 384 newton meters,
02:00and a 2.4-liter turbodiesel with a new gear automatic transmission, which provides 187 horsepower and 480 newton meters of torque.
02:09Both models feature an intelligent all-wheel drive system with demand-dependent torque distribution and seven specially tuned driving modes,
02:15including standard, sport, eco, off-road reduction, sand, mud and snow.
02:22In addition, off-road aids such as the tank turning mode and a warm mode for difficult terrain are available.
02:28The maximum towing capacity is around 2,300 kilograms, which also qualifies the H9 for heavy-duty transport tasks.
02:37Buyers can choose between a five-seater or seven-seater configuration.
02:41Particularly practical is the fact that there are a total of 45 storage compartments distributed throughout the interior.
02:49The five-seater version offers a generous 790-liter boot volume,
02:53which can be expanded to over 1,000 tons of liters with the second row of seats folded down.
02:58Double-layer laminated sound insulating glass on the windscreen and front-side windows,
03:07as well as a special body structure made of 34 laminated panels for noise reduction,
03:12ensure additional comfort and quiet in the interior.
03:17The interior is modern and technically state-of-the-art.
03:20This includes a multi-function steering wheel with three spokes,
03:26a freestanding 40.6-inch infotainment screen,
03:30a fully digital instrument cluster,
03:32a distinctive gear selector lever and numerous physical buttons on the center console for intuitive operation.
03:40The system is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor,
03:44which not only ensures fast response times but also enables firmware overhaul updates.
03:50In addition, vehicle functions can be controlled or monitored via smartphone,
03:54including remote start.
03:57The H9 ON is also well-equipped in terms of safety.
04:01Thirteen Level 2 assistance systems actively support the driver
04:04and raise the vehicle to a high technical level.
04:09This combination of safety, driving comfort and off-road capability
04:12makes the new Havel H9 a particularly versatile companion.
04:16GWM Malaysia is continuing to prepare for the Indonesian market
04:21in parallel with the launch of the Tank 500,
04:23which is set to position itself in the premium SUV segment.
04:27The Hubel H6 is currently being produced in Malacca
04:30by EP Manufacturing Berhard and is priced at around €21,000.
04:37If JM Malaysia positions itself wisely,
04:40the second-generation Havel H9 could become a real surprise success
04:43in the off-road SUV segment.
04:47Especially for buyers looking for a modern,
04:49technically advanced and at the same time off-road capable alternative
04:53to established Japanese brands.
