00:30However, the Boreal will expand the model range in over 70 countries,
00:34including regions such as Latin America, Turkey, the Middle East and the Mediterranean.
00:39Renault is pursuing a clear strategy with this.
00:43As part of the so-called international game plan,
00:45eight new vehicles are to be launched outside Europe by 2027.
00:50Five of them in the C&D segments.
00:53The goal is ambitious.
00:57Renault wants to double average vehicle sales outside Europe
00:59compared to 2019.
01:01Depending on the target market,
01:03the large SUV will be produced locally in Curitiba,
01:06Brazil for 17 Latin American countries
01:08and in Bursa, Turkey for a further 54 markets.
01:15The market launch will begin in South America at the end of 2025,
01:19with other regions to follow from 2026.
01:22The Boreal is based on a new modular platform from Renault
01:25that can be flexibly used for various vehicle types.
01:32Renault is keen to emphasize that the Boreal is by no means a Dacia Bixer by any other name,
01:37although the dimensions suggest a certain similarity.
01:43The Boreal measures around 4.6 meters in length
01:46and around 1.8 meters in width without and a good 2.1 meters in width with the exterior mirrors.
01:53The wheelbase is around 2.7 meters and, including the roof rails,
01:57the SUV has a height of around 1.7 meters.
02:00With the tailgate open,
02:03the vehicle reaches a maximum height of around 2 meters when unladen.
02:08The ground clearance is 21 centimeters,
02:10which, together with the approach angles of 22 degrees at the front
02:14and 27 degrees at the rear,
02:16ensures solid off-road capability.
02:18The loading sill height is 78 centimeters.
02:21In everyday use,
02:24the boot offers a good volume of around 590 L,
02:27which can be expanded to just under 1,800 L by folding down the rear seats.
02:32Ideal for longer journeys or family shopping.
02:37Inside,
02:37the Renault Boreal is state-of-the-art.
02:41Two digital screens,
02:42each measuring 10 inches,
02:44make up the cockpit.
02:45There are also electrically adjustable front seats with massage function,
02:49USB-C ports in the front and rear,
02:51and a cooled compartment in the center console.
02:55The new open-rink infotainment system integrates Google services such as Maps,
03:00Assistant and the Play Store for the first time in a Renault outside Europe.
03:05Thanks to over-the-air updates,
03:07the system is always up to date.
03:09A high-quality sound system from Harman Kardon with 10 speakers is available as an option.
03:15Up to 24 assistance systems are available in the new Boreal.
03:19These include Emergency Braking Assistant,
03:22Lane Departure Warning,
03:24Blind Spot Warning,
03:25and Level 2 Driving Assistant.
03:28Cameras and parking sensors around the vehicle make parking and maneuvering easier.
03:34Multisense also allows the driver to adjust the driving behavior,
03:37ambient lighting,
03:38and even the sound profiles to suit personal preferences.
03:41At market launch,
03:43a 1.3-liter turbocharged gasoline engine will be offered,
03:47which delivers up to 163 horsepower and is combined with a dual-clutch transmission.
03:52There is also a flex-fuel version for Brazil.
03:57Further drive options are already being planned regionally,
04:00with Renault aiming to cover local needs as broadly as possible.
04:05Renault is currently holding back on pricing.
04:07However, such a vehicle is likely to start at an entry-level price of around 30,000 euros,
04:15depending on the market.
04:18This positions the Boreal competitively in a segment that is in high demand worldwide.
04:25With the Boreal,
04:27Renault is consistently continuing its international growth strategy
04:30and once again underscoring its ambition to gain globally relevant market shares
04:34and tap into new customer groups outside Europe.
