00:09This project means a lot to me
00:11because it is one of the first I've been working on
00:14since I joined Renault at the beginning of the year.
00:18As you can see, eSpace concept
00:21is clearly a modern reinterpretation
00:24of the original Renault Espace from 1984.
00:28We all remember it as a visionary vehicle
00:32that became iconic
00:35and that is in our collective memory.
00:39In the 80s, Espace created a new idea of mobility.
00:44People focused, generous, modular,
00:48a new way of travelling together.
00:52As you know, it inspired the world automotive industry
00:56and generations of family cars such as the Scenic behind you
01:00or the new Twingo that we have just relaunched.
01:04But with eSpace concept,
01:06we are not just looking back at an icon.
01:09We are looking forward with a very simple question.
01:12How can we take the best of our DNA
01:15and turn it into a new voiture vive
01:18that would be faithful to our brand values,
01:21designed to be loved, people-first tech,
01:26electrified by patients, and crafted space.
01:30But a concept car is also questioning our ability
01:34to innovate, to surprise,
01:37to create cars that people truly connect with,
01:40and our ability to project this strong story
01:44in today's world in a meaningful way.
01:48Good news.
01:50At Renault, we believe that Espace concept
01:53provides an answer to this question,
01:56putting people at the heart of the project,
01:59adapting to their future lifestyles
02:01with a special touch that is unique to Renault.
02:06So, why did we decide to reboot the MPV?
02:11First, it offers maximum interior space
02:14within a compact footprint,
02:16and it answers what many people expect today.
02:20Modularity, comfort, easy to use, and full of light.
02:27Further, this body type delivers the aero efficiency
02:31that is absolutely essential to the performance
02:34of an electric car.
02:36And last, its silhouette is quite unique
02:40in the current automotive landscape.
02:43It represents a credible alternative
02:46to SUVs and classic sedans.
02:50Once the other line was set,
02:53our goal was to imagine the Renault Espace
02:55through a contemporary approach
02:57on four different aspects.
03:00The first one is an immediately recognizable styling
03:04with its one-box layout,
03:06with the bonnet in perfect continuity
03:10with the windshield.
03:12A stable and strongly horizontal bedline
03:15that expresses a sense of serenity.
03:19The large glass surfaces
03:21and the very low bedline glorify the interior.
03:25And as you can see, the cabin appears like a glass box
03:29on which body panels were fitted to create this impression of levitation.
03:35The second aspect is an interior crafted as a real living area.
03:42Imagine, the six individual seats can rotate to turn the interior into a lounge.
03:48The middle seats fall down completely
03:51and together with the center console
03:53they create a flat surface just like a coffee table
03:56for games, objects or any activities.
04:00The dashboard has been stripped back
04:03to maximize the interior space
04:04and showcase the open-out panorama screen.
04:07It is surrounded with light
04:10providing an incredible sense of openness to the outside world.
04:15The ambience is warm and welcoming
04:20enhanced by the choice of colors and materials
04:23such as the seed fabric
04:25and the wooden wooden straw marquetry contrasting
04:28with the red lacquer of the seed shells.
04:32In short, it's a real cocoon
04:35where you see the finest interior design,
04:37a real piece of contemporary architecture.
04:42The third aspect is technology
04:45that should deliver serenity for the users.
04:48The open-out panorama
04:50wide screen spans the entire width of the cockpit.
04:55The touch control display can disappear in a detox mode
04:59and this minimalist layout
05:02is absolutely key to this peaceful mood
05:06that we're looking for.
05:06Of course, passengers also benefit from individual screens
05:13and immersive sound experience.
05:17The last aspect is that this vehicle is, of course,
05:22100% electric, totally aligned with Renault conviction
05:27and dedication to electrify mobility.
05:32In addition, the electric architecture allows for a flat floor,
05:37creating a more modular layout
05:39with greater freedom of movement for all passengers.
05:43An electric platform also allows a perfect positioning of the wheels
05:47with short overhangs for great proportions.
05:54As you can see, for nearly 130 years,
05:58Renault keeps reinventing itself
05:59and moving forward.
