Der Lexus IS 500 Climax Edition markiert das Ende einer Ära – die letzte V8-angetriebene Sportlimousine von Lexus wird in einer limitierten Auflage von nur 500 Einheiten exklusiv in Japan angeboten. Mit überarbeiteten Bremsen, neuen Felgen und der exklusiven Lackierung „Neutrino Grau“ setzt Lexus ein finales Statement.

Technisch bleibt der IS 500 seiner Linie treu: Ein 5,0-l-V8-Saugmotor mit 479 PS und 535 Nm sorgt in Kombination mit einem 8-Gang-Automatikgetriebe und Hinterradantrieb für klassisches Fahrvergnügen. Die Climax Edition hebt sich besonders durch ihre Brembo-Bremsanlage mit 380 mm großen Bremsscheiben, roten Bremssätteln und mattschwarzen 19-Zoll-BBS-Felgen ab.

Im Innenraum dominieren Ultrasuede, Leder, Schwarz-Rot-Kontraste sowie Sonderdetails wie die „Climax Edition“-Plakette und individuelle Begrüßungsgrafiken. Preislich liegt die Edition bei etwa 57.000 € – teurer als der Standard-IS 500, aber exklusiver denn je.

00:04Today we're talking about the last V8 in a sporty Lexus sedan, the IS500 Climax Edition.
00:11At a time when large displacement 8-cylinder engines are disappearing from new cars,
00:16Lexus is bringing a worthy finale to the market with this special edition,
00:19albeit only for the Japanese home market.
00:23Just 500 units of the IS500 Climax Edition will be made.
00:26Technically, the model is based on the well-known Ultimate Edition from the USA,
00:32but has a few special features.
00:35The new braking system is particularly striking.
00:38The ventilated brake discs with a diameter of 38 cm are complemented by red Brembo 6-piston calipers
00:44and high-performance brake pads.
00:47This means that the Climax Edition achieves the same braking performance as the significantly
00:52sportier RCF Coupe.
00:53The rims are from BBS, are forged and finished in matte black with a diameter of 19 inches.
01:02Connoisseurs will recognize the wheels from the American Ultimate Edition or the Japanese
01:06F Sport Mode Black Series, but in glossy black.

02:18In the US, the IS500F Sport Performance will be available for around 53,000 euros in the 2025 model year.

02:42The current generation was launched, revised in 2017 and received another facelift in 2020.
02:49The Climax Edition is now likely to mark the end of the history of this sporty sedan
