00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:03Today we're talking about the Renault Emblem,
00:06a concept vehicle that completely rethinks sustainable mobility
00:10and combines it with an innovative electric hydrogen drive.
00:14With this emblem, Renault wants to demonstrate that individual driving
00:18can be made significantly more environmentally friendly in the future.
00:23The focus is on drastically reducing the ecological footprint,
00:26both in production and during use.
00:30The vehicle was presented in the fall at the Paris Motor Show.
00:34Now the manufacturer is providing deeper insights into the project.
00:38The design of the almost 4.8 meters long vehicle
00:41deliberately sets itself apart from the current SUV trend.
00:45Instead, Renault is opting for a low-shooting brake body with a long roofline,
00:50which should provide aerodynamic advantages.
00:53Side mirrors are replaced by cameras,
00:55and the rear view is also controlled by camera technology.
01:00Large, streamlined wheels complete the exterior appearance.
01:06The goal is to reduce CO2 emissions by 90% compared to the Renault Capture from 2019.
01:12To achieve this, every detail of the emblem was rethought,
01:16from the materials used to the production process and energy supply.
01:19Even the electricity mix from the grid is included in the balance.
01:25Over the entire life cycle, emissions are expected to be just around 5 tons.
01:30In the long term, Renault is even aiming for 0 tons.
01:34A purely battery-electric solution was rejected because large batteries generate high CO2 emissions during production.
01:41Instead, the emblem combines a smaller battery with green hydrogen.
01:48A fuel cell uses the hydrogen to generate electricity for the electric motor.
01:52This allows the vehicle to travel around 1,000 kilometers with two short refueling stops.
01:58On battery power alone, the emblem can travel around 300 kilometers.
02:02On the highway, it is around 200.
02:05The interior also follows the principle of sustainability.
02:09Renault uses recycling-friendly monomaterials such as recycled plastics and natural raw materials,
02:15including flax and pineapple fibers.
02:19Adhesives are largely avoided to facilitate reuse.
02:23The body is made from a mixture of steel and aluminum.
02:26Both materials are considered infinitely recyclable and can be produced using green electricity.
02:34However, Renault makes it clear that CO2-neutral production is only possible if suppliers and partners also adapt accordingly.
02:42The emblem is purely a concept vehicle that will not go into series production in this form for the time being.
02:50Nevertheless, Renault has announced that it will incorporate individual elements such as materials,
02:54components, or design cues into production vehicles in the future.
02:59However, specific models have not yet been announced.
